How to Get Yourself a Pet Fish

Looking for a caring companion to keep you company while fending off those ferocious black dragons? Just want a buddy to cuddle by the fireplace with? Does no one listen to you? A pet fish is the solution to all of these, and your future problems. The question "Ah, how do I get one?" is echoing through your minds I assume. Well, I'll tell you.

There are several simple steps to attaining this faithful companion, as well as a 42 Crafting level requirement.

1) Find yourself some molten glass and a glassblowing pipe, using the glassblowing pipe on the molten glass, make a fish bowl.

2) Find a water source, such as a sink, tap, or fountain and use the fishbowl on the water source to fill your fish bowl with water. Without that - what's your fish going to swim in?

3) Find seaweed, which can be found on most beaches, such as the peninsula by the Crafting Guild, or purchased from players. Once attained, use the seaweed on the fish bowl.

4) Make your way to Catherby with 10 GP, and talk to Harry, the owner of the Fishing Shop. Ask Harry if you could have a fish for your fishbowl, he will then tell you that he will sell you a special net for 10 GP that will allow you to get a fish for yourself. Accept the major loss of 10 GP, lick your wounds, and accept the special net.

5) Use your newly acquired special net, or 'tiny net' on the aquarium found within the west area of the store. You will now be given a fish of a random color.

6) Congratulations! You now have a fish. You may talk, play, or feed your new companion.

Feeding Your Fish

Your fish won't die of starvation, but it's still nice to feed him, it would be inhumane not to! That being said, to get yourself some fish food, travel to Draynor Manor, found north of Draynor Village.

Once at Draynor Manor, go to the second level of the mansion to find a box of fish food.

Alternatively, ask Harry for fish food, and he will then give you a box for free. You'll now need a clean guam leaf, seaweed, and a pestle and mortar.

Use the pestle and mortar on the two items, and then use each item on the empty box to create fish food. Although it's significantly easier to use the fish food spawn in Draynor Manor.

Things You Can do With Your Fish

When you right-click the fishbowl you will see these options:

Types of Fish

There are three kinds of fish.

Blue - Common
Green - Common
Spinefish - Uncommon

I hope you enjoyed the guide, but always remember, when you love something strong enough, you have to release it.

Watch out, there's already this guide (which probably needs some updating though): http://runevillage.com/rs2SpecialReport ... shbowl.php

Ah, I couldn't find it yesterday.

Well, would I be able to rewrite it? The conversations are outdated, as are many other things.
