Yeah, this! I really tried to get that implemented in FlashChat (like four times) but never could end up getting it to stay after the user left Chat. It would be pretty neat to have it back.

!ge would actually be pretty helpful actually; I price-check stuff a LOT these days. Just outputting current price would be sufficient, I guess, since you can't relay the graphs in text form (but "and rising" or "and falling" could work!)

Let's keep the name discussion out of this, especially joke name suggestions. I have no problem with other people making a new topic to discuss it, and I would certainly look over it. But I'd rather not drown out suggestions for features with people saying such-and-such name is dumb and this one is better.

Like in FlashChat it was

Something like that, perhaps!

Ah, looks like Tanks ninja'd me, but I personally like the every-100 thing more than the whenever-a-mod-asks thing. (Really, the only reason /belcnt was in FlashChat at all was because the bell count got reset when everyone logged out. If the new Chat can do timed mutes and !description, it probably won't have that problem FlashChat had.)

So apparently this is a topic. I hadn't noticed until today.

Anyway, I've been working on a new MeepBot, and I have a working prototype with a Lua scripting backend. I'm not meaning to step on anyone here, but I've put too much work into it to just dump it now. It connects to the server, loads scripts to handle commands, and can reload those scripts without leaving the chat room.

Not visibly licensed yet (planning on GPLv2/v3), not fully working, and I'm not even pretending to support its build process just yet, but it's out there and I'm working on SQLite integration to handle people and accounts.

As for meepster, we're pretty good friends and he's been pretty supportive of my work with his chat client/server stuff, so I'm pretty sure he won't mind me using the name, especially when it's up to snuff. I'll ask next time I get a chance, though.

I think you should try and create a subchat similar to the "Talk to God" one, where you can actually have a conversation with a computer would be cool!
