Escape from Myron County [RP]

I'm going to try to reboot this one, I think last time it ran into a roadblock because I couldn't get to many actiony segments.

The basic idea similar to the last one.
-Your character will have some kind of special power/trait (feel free to include it in your profile this time)
whether other characters know or not about your power/trait is up to you.
Examples can be like psychic, flight, spider powers, etc, some kind of super power or something.

Preface:
What was thought to be "Myron County" turned out to be a research community in the middle of Asia. Parents and children were captured and moved without their knowing and placed in a fake community for the purpose of trying to breed super soldiers. When the children showed signs of gaining abilities, they were captured and brainwashed into soldiers or destroyed if they were unruly.

Tabitha, (bio later) acquired a GPS from a US soldier whom broke into the Myron Research Area and gave it to her (and anyone else who was there if you use the same character) After some investigation in the school, Tabitha managed to obtain a student roster and data about the research in "Myron County" and escaped from the facility. Shortly after, Tabitha destroyed the facility (the school) with a large explosion.

Word quickly got out what was going on and many of the students with powers are all trying to escape.

The goal of this RP is to make it from Central Asia to friendly territory by any means necessary and get the data to an ally commander. So I'm hoping we can fit more actiony bits in this since basically we'll all meed up while escaping.

Tabitha Schablone
Age: 17
Appearance: 5' 5" - Shoulder length straight light blond hair, light blue eyes and a somewhat pale complexion - a fairly athletic build. Typically wears fairly drab black or gray clothing. In this case a light gray shirt and long skirt.
Bio: A fairly reliable person with a good gpa. Not on any sports teams but does well in gym. Member of the debate team and won quite a few events. Her parents are straight German though she does not speak with much of an accent.
**Her ability/trait is she's a synthetic person/android which gives her tremendous strength, but certainly not indestructible. She also has the ability to hack data centers/computer equipment.

Stephanie Peterson
Age: 18
5' 7" Brown hair (long) brown eyes. Commonly referred to as "The Princess" to people outside her group. She's the daughter of a well off family, captain of the Cheerleader squad. She also moonlights as a resistance leader for the "gifted" students. Her group was responsible for spreading word about the lab.
** Her ability is to superheat her body like red hot metal

Stage 1: Myron Research Zone
Area 100 mile radius with 5 main towns. Myron, Lachester (north), Hullton (east), St. Ivan (south), Greenville (west) each about 20 miles away from Myron. Beyond that is a dead zone of mostly forest with military bases at a few key points to prevent escapes.

I'll try to stay more active with this one. With more action, it may be easier. I had really wanted to develop Charlie's powers more, and I had certain specialties planned out for later. With this, I can probably develop his powers more quickly. Just try to throw me an important building that's burning. :wink:

Charles (Charlie) Baxtor-
16 years old
5'9"
190 lbs. (Appears slightly heavy)
Brown hair, blue eyes
Clothing: Always wears a hoody, no matter what.
Bio: All in all not too bad of a guy, not too good of a guy. A loner, with few friends in school, Charlie was actually pretty smart, he just didn't apply himself. He mainly focused his intelligence and creativity into writing stories. Until he got caught up in this mess.

Powers: Using his hands, can heat and cool most things. Often useful for making superheated items for throwing. With enough heat, can start fires. With enough cold, can start freezing things.

)

A group of security officers patrolling the warehouse district of town roamed around pointing flashlights. Their radios blip in occasionally in unintelligible gibberish. The group leader picks up his radio and and responds in what could be Russian as far as Tabitha could tell as she crawled over the rooftop. She draws out two 9mm revolvers and jumps down firing two shots into the leader.

The other two guards try to draw as Tabitha charges the one on her right pistol whipping him hard and knocking him down. The second guard fires and misses twice as Tabitha collapses downward to her back to avoid the shots and fires. Dammit.. I need to stop wasting so much ammo.. 3 shots, I could have done it in less. She said getting up and looting the downed guards.

"At least it is convenient they use the same stuff." She muses while pulling the spare ammo from their supplies. Time to get to the rally point though. With any luck, others will have made it out of town. She makes her way to the old factory to see who is going to escape.

Tabitha is wearing basically her black make-shift ninja outfit. Black pants and jacket with a black ball cap and a scarf to cover her face.

OOC: Are we headed for Kyrgyzstan? Or whatever that highlighted country is?

IC: Charlie crept silently through town toward the factory.
If I'm gonna make it out of here, I'll probably need some help. Let me see if anyone will be there.
In his carrying bag at his side, he held a large amount of rocks, most at around the same size, a few inches across.

He stopped in the park, behind some bushes, as some guards walked by. One stopped, saying something in another language. The single guard walked over to a tree, as the other guards continued on. Charlie waited as the others kept walking, then quickly grabbed a rock, super-heated it, took aim, and flung it at the single guard's head. It struck him dead on the neck, melting into his spinal cord. He collapsed instantly.
My aim is improving!
Charlie quickly made the rest of the way to the factory.

EDIT: OOC: Charlie is wearing jeans, and a hoodie. He is also, as I said, carrying a carrier bag filled with rocks.

ooc: no we're not going to Kyrgyzstan, the area we're in is the red circle. The map I found just already had something marked that I couldn't remove. We'll just determine which way we go, ie like east or west. So if we reached Japan or Europe or some other base, it would be "safe"

Depending which way we go, it'll change how we get there, of course.

OOC: I'll be using the same character I used before, but am going to make a few minor tweaks in his biography. I'm also going to change his powers so I don't have to rely on what others write about it (seeing how his ability was to basically change the perception of those around him, his ability practically relied on characters acknowledging this.)

Name: Jack Alfonso Carlos Koenraad van der Venen (referred to as Jack)

Age: 17

Appearance: 6'2", 154 lbs, slightly toned skin, grey eyes, light blonde hair that goes slightly past his neck and covers his ears with the sides combed forward, fairly athletically built. He has a slight Spanish-Dutch accent.

Jack rarely wears anything else than loose-fitting jeans and plain black running shoes, and is often spotted wearing a t-shirt with an open hoodie over it, the two usually being different colors from each other. On hot summer days, though, he prefers to wear V-neck T-shirts, stubbornly claiming it’s better against the heat than the regular shirts despite repeatedly being told otherwise. He also wears a silver necklace and thumb ring with the Roxas' symbol (see spoiler below) on it, as well as fingerless gloves during any season but summer, because he thinks it’s “silly to wear gloves while not having anything cover the rest of your arms”.

Symbol:

Bio: Born as a single child from a wealthy but loving family, consisting of a Spanish mother and Dutch father. While growing up, his parents taught him English as well as their own native languages. After having quite some bullying done to him during middle school, Jack has difficulty opening up to people, but has slowly started to trust people again since his freshman year at Myron County High. He's also really curious about pretty much everything and can be quite nosy, though he does have a knack for finding the answers he's looking for.

Jack is an avid gamer and big fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, and loves to write stories; forum-based role playing games in particular. He's also an avid fencer, he and his team regularly achieving first place in the regional Junior Leagues, and even reached second place in the nationals last year. Jack lives in a large mansion near the edge of town, together with his parents and their cat named Barney.

Powers: Jack is able to change the physical properties (size, shape, weight etc.) of any non-living or dead substance within 25 feet of himself. In order to do this, he has to be able to see or touch whatever he's using this power on (meaning he won't be able to use it on bullets and such).

IC:

"Whew, now that was something I'm never going to forget" Jack said as he finished up the last bits of what he went to do after the confrontation on the factory rooftop, somehow involving a screwdriver, a glass of lemonade and a yellow dollhouse.

OOC: Don't worry too much about what he actually did, it was mostly intended as a joke to explain his absence.

IC:

After he stopped talking to himself, Jack heard footsteps coming from the hall of the old warehouse he was in. Crap! He thought, sneaking into the door closest to him, which led to an old boiler room. Thinking fast, he ducked behind one of the boilers just as the door slammed shut. Jack had forgotten about the automatic closing mechanisms most factory doors have. He then heard a man shout in a language he'd never heard before, after which multiple footsteps were heard running down previously mentioned hallway.

Looking around in panic, Jack noticed that the only exits from the room he was in were the door he went in from, and a window all the way up at the ceiling. Moments later, he heard someone aggressively knocking on the door. Realizing the rest of the group would probably be hiding next to the wall rather than behind the door, Jack stared at the parts of the wall he suspected them to hide behind, and focused on rapidly expanding the bricks towards the other side. Moments later, a muffled grunt was heard, indicating his plan worked. Opening the door, Jack saw that he had been followed by three soldiers, which were now trapped between the walls Jack had modified and the outer wall, their faces away from the door. Despite knowing that not doing so would probably put them in serious danger, Jack could not convince himself to kill the men, he just couldn't do it.

Walking back inside the boiler room, Jack extended the tile he was standing on all the way to the window, and climbed out onto the roof, after which he reverted the tile back to normal.

"Now to get to the rendezvous."

OOC: This is exciting. I wanted to join the first one but would have been late to the party and had no intention of joining once it was already underway. But I'd love to get involved now. As I understand where we are now, the facility is in ruins and we are trying to escape? So we are scattered about the remains of the facility then?

Name: Jason James

Age: 18

Appearance: 6'1", about 175lbs. Dark brown hair, cleanly cut. Green eyes. He likes to wear simple jeans and a t-shirt, but has no real taste preferences. Dresses sensibly, IE sweater if it's chilly, coat if it's winter, etc. Has an athletic build. He is good looking and very popular with the girls. He can woo them effectively, but is sometimes far too bold.

Bio: Jason comes from an incredibly poor family, but has a positive attitude and always makes the best of things. He is a good student, but not a great one; maintaining a hovering 3.0 gpa. His favorite subjects are history and english. He loves to run track, but moreover, he likes practicing martial arts. He is very adept at the art of Judo ( :awesome:

), having practiced since an early age. He earned his blackbelt a year prior. He is also knowledgeable in Muay Thai and jujitsu. He has competed in several competitions and sanctioned fights, having lost some but coming away with more wins than losses. Jason has a very outgoing personality. He likes to lead when necessary, but knows when to follow as well. He is sarcastic, sometimes to a fault. He has a foul mouth. He heard ghosts of rumors of some kind of faction of teens with powers as well, but paid them no heed. He learned of the facility and its' true intentions after he had been approached by the authorities and blatantly told of it. This infuriated him, of course. No one likes to be manipulated in such a way. Moreover, the explosion of the school came with impeccable timing. He was to be executed as a dissenter.

Upon the school's destruction, Jason's guards were preoccupied with the ensuing chaos. It was then that he managed his escape. One of his flaws is that he is sometimes more concerned with the destruction of the researchers and those involved than with the idea of escape or exposure of the plot. Revenge is too often his driving force.

Power: Simple super-speed. I'm being cheap and using the Flash as my model. Keep this in mind, this will make Jason capable of a good number of different things.

BIC:

Having been the only scheduled execution of the day, Jason was now alone in his small building.

"Jesus atheist christ, what the Fuzzy Bunny

was that?" He muttered to himself, immediately feeling foolish for talking with no one else around. Shots are fired, and Jason steps outside exercising caution. It is chaotic. Amidst the confusion, several teens make their way to a large factory. He decides to follow them quickly and quietly, hoping beyond all hope that this is the group he's heard of.

OOC: Judging by other people's responses, we are allowed to create faceless guys to beat up for the hell of it?

Tabitha waited inside the factory for people to arrive as individuals began to show up.
"Some did make it after all. I am glad to see this. For those who do not know me, I am Tabitha. I am the one that destroyed the laboratory.

My friends and I had discovered the school was a front for a research facility using children and the students as test subjects. Test subjects for super soldiers. The people behind this intended to use you to fight a war.. To make matters worse, we have all been lied to much of our lives to believe this is a quaint American town, when in reality this is a false city set up in the middle of Asia...

I know this is a lot to take in, but I was given a GPS map to help us find our way out.. well once we get outside the shielded area.. I have to get the data I downloaded about the research facility to an Allied command center.

That is enough about me though really. If you made it this far, you probably have some abilities. Most of the students here do, some either never knew, got caught, or have evaded detection like us. So if you can let us all know who you are and what you can do.."

Charlie listened to Tabitha. He decided to say who he was first.

"Some of you know that I am Charlie Baxtor. I am 16 years old. I have the power to control heat, or lack thereof, with my hands."

Charlie then stepped back, waiting for others to speak.

Moments afterward, Jack came running into the building. "Sorry I'm... late. I was held up... by some of those research guys... on my way here." Jack said, leaning on a wall while catching his breath. "It's all good now... though, I've managed to trap... them in an old warehouse on the... other side of the industrial area."

Having caught his breath, Jack now stood up straight again. He looked at the group, a bit embarrassed. "Umm, hi, I'm Jack van der Venen, pleased to meet you all."

"Well .. the situation right now is this false town has a surrounding area 100 miles wide. We need to find transportation and something that can break through the police roadblocks that will probably be out there.." Tabitha says putting out a rough sketch map of the town and the local area. "I can probably get anything we find to start if it is new enough.. just as long as it is computer controlled.. if we can hold onto it long enough we... "

Tabitha is interrupted by a ramming noise in the lower floor entrance and radio conversations. Tabitha runs to a window looking carefully. There are 3 teams of 5 armed soldiers coming out of large vans and moving to each of the entrances of the factory. Each is armed with a Russian 9mm automatic and a MP7 SMG.

"Damn!... damn there are a lot of them. Either they knew, found our, or we were followed..." Tabitha says turning and checking her guns. I was hoping we could wait for more to show, but we no longer have time. Hope you boys are ready.. I have one spare gun but not much ammo left.. take anything you can off these guys." She says offering a beaten up stubnoze revolver.
