RuneVillage Birthday Bash IV - Literary Contest

Rows of desks were laid out in the hall, the sound of laughter filling the air.
At the top of the rows sat Richboi with five of his most trusted friends,
glancing down from piles of parchment that littered the desk and spilled onto the floor.
Somewhere, a chime sounded, Richboi stood up and exclaimed
"Please pick up your quills, the Literary contest begins."

Thats right folks, the RVBB is now in its fourth year and to celebrate we are having afew new events that have never been seen on rv before. The Literary contest will be your chance to express your creative side, with a peiece of literature of your choice. This could be a poem, a story, an article or even a song and I will be imposing no upper limits on what you can write.

Now of course there will naturally be rules, and these rules must be adheared too otherwise the consequences will be dire.

Description:
This is the perfect oppurtunity for all of you budding
writers to get creative and write a short
story or literary piece, with the winner having
his/her work put into the following months villager.
The winner of the event will have their story posted
in the Village Library, where it will remain
as permanent content of the RV Library.

The way it works is like this:
easy, with a 200 word minimum and a 2000 word maximum create a short story, long poem or any literary piece and submit it to me via pm. You will be judged on fluency, attention to detail, application of linguistic devices and storyline.

Rules:

Your literary piece must be pmed to me in order for it to count

Please try not to break any of the RV Rules in your writing... keep it appropriate

Do not plagarize or steal parts of your writing from any other source, this is your story

Any storyline requirements? I know past years have required poems to be related to RV's anniversary and all. I might participate if I can think up a good short story (I usually concentrate on long ones.)

Also, is there a limit to the number of submissions? Like if I wanted to do a story AND a poem?

There is no storyline or theme requirement ^.^

As for the number of submissions... I'll let richboi answer that, but I'm guessing you can make only one submission.

you can submit as many as you like however you must pm me telling me which is your submission that you wish to be judged. And as Jackstick said, DO NOT POST ENTRIES HERE. PM them to me, i will post all submissions after judgement to make this as fair as possible.

That's kind of ambiguous...we can submit as many as we like, but have to tell you which one to judge? Is that the same as only being allowed one submission, then, or am I missing something? >_>

Wait, 500 word minimum? If people want to enter poetry or song or something, that'll be a tad ridiculous. :-s

500 words is the minimum because if I want to get a real grasp of your ability then it needs to be fairly substantial, however I can see your point of view. im going to relax the word limit to 200 words. As for the submit as much as you like, what I mean is if you submit one, then write something better you can void your first entry and submit a new one to be judged. One entry per person = one entry gets judged.

Call me crazy, but doing otherwise is usually against any given rules about plagarism and can be against laws. :\

If I still have the file somewhere I'll submit my story for the Literary contest Knux hosted.
