Chapter One- Destruction of Zanaris

The land of Zanaris was once a peaceful place, but not now. Darkness covered the once blue sky. The Queen herself watched it on her cave, she held her sceptre tightly. The sceptre was made from magic wood in the colors of blue and was fused with sapphires, and on its top was a large diamond. It was the life and power of Zanaris, it created it and could even destroy it.

All of sudden, in front of her was a flare. The flare faded, and there right in front of her was a man about twenty years of age, brown hair, normal height, masculine. "Zakor! What do you need in my kingdom?!"asked the Queen furiosly, "I'm here to collect the sceptre of my lord Zamorack"Zakor replied with an evil smile. "Fool! It was Guthix who made this! Your God wants to destroy the balance!".

Zarok didn't replied, he just reaised his hand and casted a telekenetic grab on the sceptre, the spell reacted swiftly. Upon touching it, he said an incantation in elven language and raised it up in the air. "No!"the Queen screamed. The land of Zanaris turned black as it released white like-wisps into the air, after a few minutes the land of Zanaris was completely black. The wisps gathered and compressed themselves at the sceptre's gem.

Tree nymphs started to decay, fairies started to fall like flies, the Queen's fair, light skin turned old. Zarok layghed and laughed. He was victorious, the queen closed her eyes and said:

"Sceptre of Zanaris,
You have take your powers back:
Let you be transported to the world of mortals,
and let thy place be trapped for a few hours!"

The staff suddenly disappeared in the air, the Queen smiled and closed her eyes forever. Zarok stamped the floor with anger, the staff will be taken by mortals anytime......

Chapter Two- Brothers in quarrel

Shogen walked proudly on the roads of Lumbrdge, even though he should be ashamed. Shogen was eighteen years old, normal height, black hair, blue eyes. His full set of infinity robes matched his pink cape that swung every step he made. His family was the heir of the Summoned, Summoned are those sent by Guthix to balance Runescape again. The first Summoned was his great great grand father, balancer of evil. While her great grandmother was the balancer of light.

He shouldn't be proud, he was fired from the Yanille Ministry, he was fired because of his brother, Zarok. Even though he was fired, he took a mission that wasn't his. The mission was to succesfully take the sceptre from the Queen of Zanaris. As he went nearer to the swamps, a heavenly light appeared on top of him. The light faded and left a sceptre. Shogen was stunned to see the sceptre on his hands.

He felt the sceptre emitted great power, powers of the Guthix. As he was about to leave the swamps, a barrier blocked him. And as he turned around, he saw Zarok, smiling. "What do you need brother?!"Shogen asked, I need the sceptre, so hand it over!"Zarok replied calmly. "Why?"Shogen asked with sadness on his eyes, Zarok raised one of his eyebrow. "I must do this"Zarok said quietly.

But all of sudden, Zarok casted a fire wave at Shogen! Shogen was able to dodge it, he knew that he was no match against his powerful brother. He instantly took out a few runes and a law rune and teleported to Falador... After entering Falador he casted a teleport barrier, delaying his brother's arrival.

Chapter Three- Summoned, balancer of Nature

The place was dark...darker than black. Shogen couldnt understand his dream, he couldn't. An oak tree sprouted with a banana fruit on its baranches... 'Strange'he thought. A unicorn suddenly appeared, "Summoned, balancer of Nature..."it said menacingly as it disappeared into thin air, thousands of trees sprouted with different variety of fruits.

Shogen woke up, sweat was all over his head, he ignored the dream, he exited the inn after paying his bills. He went to a bank and checked his bank, he had two-hundred thousand golden pieces. On the way to Port Sarim he saw a yew tree, bearing berries.... 'Zanaris' disappearance has affected nature' he thought while looking at the sceptre. He heard a clanging sound, similar to a sword hitting an arrow.

He turned around, he saw a man about twenty-four years of age, brown hair, he was kinda short, pointed ears, It was an elf. The elf wore green clothes and a green hat similar to Santa's hat, he wielded a strange sword. The sword was made of silver and rune, it was large, it had some runes at the hilt.

'Who is this elf? Who is he fighting?'Shogen asked himself and looked at the top of Falador gates, a Zamorakian, wielding a magic bow and an arrow, the foe was about to release an attack. He accidentally pointed the sceptre at the gates while looking for runes. The sceptre's gem glowed, and to his shock it released a large, laser-like shot the gates, the gates bursted in white flames, the Zamorakian was burned to death.

"So your the Summoned?"the elf asked curiously. "H-huh?"Shogen questioned. "I know you're the Summoned, You can control the sceptre's powers, by the way my name is Klossal, what's yours?", "Shogen"he replied. Shogen now understood, he was the Summoned, he had the powers of a balancer. Shogen and Klossal bought a ship at Port Sarim(They bought because they were trying to escape), they also bought some cannons and many cannonballs. "Come here!"Klossal ordered, Shogen followed him as they went inside a pub. There were many people, most of them were sailors and pirates. "Listen up everyone!"shouted Klossal trying to get the attention of the pub.

Many pirates and sailors looked at Klossal, "We need about twenty-five sailors, ten gunners, a cook, a doctor, and twenty fighters!"shouted Klossal. A group of sailors stood, they went nearer to Klossal, "We will join, we are twenty-five, if you would like us to join that would be two-thousand golden pieces per month"the leader said. Klossal nodded showing approval, ten people stood up and one of them said "We are applying as gunners, a thousand golden pieces would do".

The pub cook resigned and decided to join them, a doctor that was drinking a beer joined. Another group stood and the leader said"We are expert fighters, we would join you, three thousand golden pieces is our fee". Klossal counted them but they were only nineteen, even though they weren't complete he counted them in. As the new group was about to leave, someone shouted "I would like to join!". Shogen saw a lady wearing full dull black d'hide, and a magic bow. The lady was about fifteen years old, long blonde hair, black eyes, normal height, and beautiful face. "Don't worry there is no fee when hiring me, I just want some adventures, My name is Vular"she said as they all entered the ship Shogen called "The La Boregada de Cargo".

Chapter Four- Monsters of the Sea

The sky and heavens above were dark, there was a storm. The La Boregada sailed south of Port Sarim. After they passed the Tutorial island, the waves were wild, they were near to a storm. "Sir! There is a storm ahead!"a pirate shouted. Shogen could see the waves moving wildly like horses, he could see the sky was dark.

"This can't be..."Klossal whispered and his eyes were full of fear, "What's happening Klossal?!"Vular asked furiously. "We are entering the Ak'Volnz territory..."he replied, "What is Ak'Volnz territory anyway?"Shogen asked curiously. "Its the territory of the sea monsters... Usually there are storms here, they will attack only if the storm is strong...". Thunders appeared in the sky, raindrops fell, the wind blew strong.

Shogen could a see a large whirlpool forming, as he looked closely at it, a sea monster appeared! It was similar to Octopus but it was larger than any octopuses, after a while hundreds of large octopuses appeared, each of them roared like giving honor to a king. And after all of them roared, a large(about five times larger than the ship), greenish, monstrous serpent appeared from the wild waters. "The sea king...."Klossal whispered.

"Fire cannons at them!"ordered Vular. Flaming cannonballs strucked an Octopus at the head, the octopus fell into the deep abyssal waters while letting its blood out. Shogen casted many fire waves trying to fry their enemies, but no use, the skin was harder than rock. Vular released thousands of blows, but her attacks were just bouncing. "Men fire our cannons!"ordered Klossal hoping to win, Shogen can't do anything, the monsters were like Gods. Then it hit him(idea not a weapon), he took out the sceptre and pointed it at an octopus. "Come on work, work..."whispered Shogen desperately.

The sceptre's gem glowed and released a large, laser-like thunders and electricity at the octopus, the octopus roared in pain as the thunder coursed through its body, its organs were fried, and a sizzling sound was heard. "Its your time, Seaking!"Shogen growled at the Seaking. He released another magic, but it was different,seven electrifying thunders in the colors of rainbow was released, it was much more powerful than the earlier spell. The Seaking roared in pain, it knelt to Shogen(It knelt at the water, which is impossible to do!), Shogen stopped it, the Seaking left together with its minions back to their underwater home.

Shogen could barely breath. It was unbelievable that he could control the powers of Nature, all of them were quiet, none even dared to speak. They safely passed Ak'Volnz territory....

Chapter Five-Zamorack's wish

Zarok walked towards the temple of Zamorack that was just a little north of the white city Falador. He was greeted by many Zamorakian priests, "Get ready the ritual"he ordered. All of the Zamorakians knelt down to their knees once the ritual begun. A priest brought a red, large goblet on the altar, the goblet itself made fire and released a scroll. Zarok took it and read:

"Zarok... My mighty General, you have failed me...
Give me the sceptre of Zanaris, and the blood and life of your brother,
He and his new crew are still passing the west waters of the Kharazi forest,
Make a ship, I will control the winds for you...Do not fail me again..."

Zarok's heart pounded heavily, he must kill his own brother. "I will Zamorack..."he whispered and smiled in an evil way.

======Meanwhile=======
Shogen woke up from his nightmare, he dreamed that he was being killed by his own brother, Zarok. He ignored it went to the iupper deck to breath fresh air. The sunshine was perfect for the weather, it was not hot nor cold. "Sir, we are about to exit the waters of Kharazi forest"a sailor said, "Well thats good, we will see the tribe Oo'glog once we exit these waters".

After thirty minutes they were able to exit the Kharzi waters, "To North!"Klossal ordered, they could see the small tribe of female ogres, Oo'glog. "Where are we exactly going Shogen?"Vular asked, "We are going to Yanille..."he replied quietly. "Maybe tomorrow we will reach Yanille"Vular said gleefully, Shogen smiled. He was a day far from his once called home.....

Chapter Six- Pirates

The La Boregada de Cargo reached Feldip hills at noon, but they were even more terrified to see a large, huge pirate ship in front of their ship. A cannonbal strucked the middle part of their ship, "Attack!"Shogen ordered as he casted a fire wave at the ship. The pirate ship got nearer to them and let fifteen pirates come aboard their ship, the fighters fought them with skill.

Shogen shivered as he saw the captain of the pirates grinning, he casted many fire wave but the wood of the ship was almost fireproof. "If they want to be pirates, lets play pirates with them"Klossal said, "H-huh?"Vular asked curiously. "The three of us will go inside that ship, together with other three fighters, after we enter we will go to the food chamber and take some food and cannonballs, we are almost out of food"Klossal said as he winked Vular, "Cannons at food chamber? Sounds like a plan"Shogen joked.

They jumped at the pirate ship and six pirates blocked their way, Shogen used the sceptre and killed two, Vular killed four. Klossal guarded the door of the food chamber as Vular and Shogen and the others took some foods, cannons, nails, gunpowder, and other supplies. Shogen threw a sack of food to Klossal, Klossal was able to catch it. He used his sceptre and made a large hole at the ship. Klossal jumped first to their ship, then Vular, after Vular were the three sailors, Shogen jumped as the pirate ship was about to sink, he luckily held a rope that was hanged at the ship.

"Ye lil blumber pirates!"the captain shouted as he fell to his untimely death....

Chapter Seven- Yanille

The crew was able to reach Yanille. Shogen, Klossal, Vular went to the Wizards tower.
"Where is Zavistic Rarve?"Shogen asked a mage.
The mage pointed it at a door that had a plaque.
Shogen knocked nervously. "Come in".
Shogen came inside leaving the others. "I thought I've fired you?!"Zavistic asked furiously.
Shogen's face sadden, "It wasn't my fault! It was my brother!"
"Then what are you doing here?!"Zavistic asked.
"I am here to infrom you about this"said Shogen as he showed the sceptre.
"You may now go back to your job, hand me the sceptre",
"Never! I am the Summoned! I have to protect it forever!"
"You can't, youre not a master magician"Zavistic said calmly.
"Yes I'm not a master magician! But i will, I will BE someday! I'm out of this place and I will make my own name in history! You will never see me again...."

Shogen left as Vular and Klossal followed him, "Are you sure?"Vular asked with pity, "Yes I am sure".
They went back to the ship and found that the ship was now full stocked, "To that place!"Shogen ordered as he pointed at the east. "What's in there?"Klossal asked. "The Whirlpool of Voyage, it will bring us to the province Relleka"Shogen replied quietly....

Chapter Eight- Troll Challenge

"Land there!"Shogen ordered his crew as he pointed the north-east of Relleka that was icy. AS they landed "Me, Vular and Klossal will now leave this vessel, pick your leader"he said sadly. Shogen took some food and the ship left them. An hour has passed they were able to exit the icy place. "I know this place..."Klossal said, "What is this place?"Vular asked. Before Klossal could reply someone knocked them down.

Klossal woke up and forced the others to wake up, "This place is Troll Stronghold! WE can't escape here easily, there are many tunnels, we might be lost forever and might die in hunger! An elf like me ventured here, and he never came back!"Klossal said in despair. A troll guard appeared "You fight Dad the champion!"it said while pointing at Vular. "Dont!"Klossal said trying to protect Vular, Vular was dragged into an arena and there was a large troll standing in the middle. It wore steel armor and had a yew club on its hands.

"Kill puny human!"the crowd shouted, Dad instantly swung his club at Vular, Vular was about to dodge the club when Dad punched him! Vular flew three feet away, there was no longer hope for her, trolls were masters of strength. She stood up and released ten arrows simultaneously, the nine were dodge by Dad but the tenth strucked his armor.

=====Meanwhile======

"Shogen! You must cast a fire wave at this cell door! Vular will die!"Klossal shouted. Shogen took out some runes and stepped backwards, he casted an air wave that instantly broke the cell door. "And how are we suppose to know where is Vular?"Shogen asked, "I put some water on her boots, we could see which way they took"he replied, Shogen nodded. They followed the wet footprints. And they found a large wall with a straight crack in the middle. "Dead end"Shogen said with anger, "No it is a troll door"Klossal replied as he pushed the wall, it opened. They saw an arena and in the middle was Vular and a troll fighting.

"Stop!"Shogen shouted as he caught the attention of the audience, "Dad kill pesky puny humans!"the crowd shouted. Dad turned around and threw his club on the ground, he was about to fight Klossal, Vular, and Shogen. Dad moved towards the two, Klossal immediatey swung his sword but the armor protected Dad, Shogen saw an idea as he saw the club. "Vular moved the club to the left!"he ordered, Vular pushed the large club to the left, "Move it a little to your left again!",
Vular pushed it until Shogen said "Stop!". He took out some air runes and a law rune, he casted a telekenetic grab, the club was still in the air as it strucked the armor of Dad, the armor was broken into pieces.

Frustated Dad turned around to Vular, he was moving towards Vular, Vular threw a shattered piece of Dad's armor to Dad, as it strucked the left leg of Dad Klossal slashed his back, making a small scar. Shogen saw the metal piece on Dad's leg. He pointed the sceptre exactly at the metal, and he released a devastating seven rainbow electric shot at the metal, which instantly fried the organs of Dad, Shogen didn't stop torturing Dad, he only stopped when Dad was turned into white ashes.

The troll crowd stood silent, their champion was dead. They dragged the humans out of their stronghold. The adventurers escaped the Gladiator city of the Trolls...They were heading to the Wilderness...

Chapter Nine- Wilderness a trap

"We can see a ship!"a Zamorakian said as a ship came nearer, "Attack!"Zarok ordered as his men fired cannons at the ship. The captain of the ship said "Sir we surrender! What do you need?!"
"We are here to find a mage called Shogen!"A soldier said,
"Sir! Shogen was once the captain of these ship!"
"Where is he?!"Zarok intervened,
"He should be at Wilderness no-"This was the last words of the captain, Zarok sunk their ship. "We must abandon these ship!"he ordered as he casted a teleport to Wilderness. The other Zamorakians also did teleport.

======After two hours in Yanille======

"Sir Zavistic!"a mage shouted in fear as he ran towards the office, "What do you need?!"Zavistic shouted angrily. "Sir, the Zamorakians sunk the ship of Shogen!"the mage said in fear, "Did Shogen died?!"Zavistic asked with care, "No sir, Shogen might be at the Wilderness, according to the survivors of the ship...". "Call all the ministry and get ready our fifty master magicians now!"he ordered.

The whole ministry went to the Council room, each of them were given a seat.
"Why did you call us Zavistic?"an old man said as he touched his beard, '
"Shogen will be attacked by the Zamorakians, he needs our help"Zavistic replied, "What do we care about that Shogen?"the whole ministry asked, "He is the Summoned and he has the sceptre of Zanaris! We must all teleport to the Wilderness and help Shogen!"Zavistic shouted, the ministry grew silent. All of them immediately teleported to the Wilderness....

=====In Wilderness========

Shogen camped near the demonic ruins, not far from there Klossal could see the Zamorakians moving towards them. "Pack all your things, we are leaving!"he ordered, without any word Vular and Shogen carried the most valuable things. They were dashing back to the west, "Klossal is it a good idea to go back to the trolls?"Vular asked, "No, were not going back there. We are going to the Trollweiss mountain!"he said. Shogen's cape accidentally stucked on a brach of the dead tree, "Shogen!"Klossal shouted in anger while he sliced the cape into two.

"They are almost there!"Vular shouted in despair as she pointed the Zamorakians who were eight feet away. Shogen saw at his peripheral vision blue, long, line moving also towards them that was only three feet away from them. "Wizards! They are here to help us!"Shogen shouted with joy. After a few minutes Shogen and the wizards decided to declare war with the Zamorakians at the Trollweiss mountain.

The group climbed the icy mountain, they all camped at a cave, some mages casted some spells that would make the Zamorakians' travel delay. "Shogen, the Zamorakians will be able to reach this place tomorrow midnight, we will have much time!"said Zavistic trying to remove the anger of Shogen.

Chapter Ten- War

It was 10:00PM, the war will start after two hours. Shogen sat and readied his puches. Zavistic came nearer "I'm sorry Shogen...."he said quiety, "Its okay, I know you wanted to protect the sceptre", "I will retire after these war, I want you to be the new Grand Secretary..."Zavistic said smiling as he removed his cape of magic, "Have this cape"he continued. Shogen wore it, he was now a master magician! He felt so happy that he shouted in joy. Vular and Klossal was happy for Shogen.

"We might not survive... But we will try!"Vular shouted as her tears flowed in her cheeks, "We will all survive!"Klossal said giving hope to all the mages.

An hour and 30 minutes have passed....

All of them went out of the cave and waited for the Zamorakians to come, a few minutes later they could see red line moving towards them. "Attack!!!"Shogen ordered, the mages started to cast hundreds of elemental waves, elements are everywhere causing chaos. Shogen disentegrated an enemy by casting a fire wave, Vular shot every Zamorakian coming nearer, Klossal sliced the enemies into pieces.

"Sir Zarok! These mages will finish us all!"a soldier said in fear, Zarok smiled as he went inside his chariot that was controlled by hellhounds. "Mages, destroy the chariot!"Zavistic ordered as he casted a fire wave. Mages casted thousands of elemental waves at the chariot, a fire wave caught it, but as the fire wave was about to hit it Zarok immediately jumped out of the chariot. "Fools!"he shouted as he raised his hands and started to say an incantation. "Zamorack give me power!"he shouted as the sky turned blood-red, the wind blew hard, thousands of zombies rose from the icy ground. "Shogen we dont have runes to cast crumble undead!"Zavistic shouted furiously.

"Dont worry I just used those zombies for you to be scared, I want a fight against my brother, one on one!"he said and smirked. "I will, for the sake of Runescape.."Shogen replied as he stepped closer to Zarok, "I dont want anyone to disturb our fight"he ordered and continued as he grinned"If I kill you I will have the sceptre!".

It was Shogen the first one to attack, he casted a fire wave. Zarok easily deflected the spell, "Lets see if you can deflect this!"he said as he revealed a staff of Zamorack inside his robes. Fire surrounded Shogen, he could not jump out of the fire, it was too hot. He searched some runes in his pouch and casted four water waves that instantly extinguished the fire. "You have improved, but you are still no match against me!"Zarok said as he spitted, Zarok immediately casted another flames of Zamorack, Shogen accidentally dropped the pouch of runes, "Too bad you dont have any runes to protect you!"he said as he ordered his zombies to attack Shogen's group.Shogen was desperate, he knew his end was near. He closed his eyes.....

It was dark and a voice said repeatedly "Shogen... He is not your brother"
"Who are you"Shogen asked. "The sceptre!"the voice said.
"Who are you?!!?!?!!"Shogen asked as he could feel pain in his head, "The sceptre!!"the voice repeated but was much louder, the words of the unknown voice repeated and repeated.

Shogen opened his eyes and took the sceptre that was on his back, he pointed it at Zarok. "Fool! You don't even know how to use it!"Zarok laughed, "I do know"he said smiling, Zarok's eyes widen. Shogen released seven rainbow electricity again, Zarok knelt down in pain, the sceptre's power was ultimate. "You destroyed the balance! I know now the truth! You are not my brother! You deserve to die!"he shouted in anger as he made the spell stronger, the fire that was around Shogen extinguished, zombies fell like flies, the spell coursed through the veins of Zarok, it burned every inch of his skin until he was no longer than ashes.

Shogen knelt down, he cried, how could he ever kill his "once" brother, he knew that his brother was evil but it was still Zarok who protected him. "Long live Shogen!"the mages shouted in joy, Shogen stood up, he accepted the death of his brother as he wiped his tears away. They all went back to Yanille and celebrated....

Epilogue- The ending

It has been two months when the war ended between the mages and Zamorakians, many events had happen, Shogen became the new Grand Secretary and became the Village leader of Yanille. Vular became a member of the Range Guild, Klossal went back to his elven kingdom. Zanaris never came back, but Shogen was able to control the sceptre.

A mage hurriedly and clumsily entered his room, "Sir! A letter from King Roald!", Shogen took the letter that was on the hands of the mage, the message says:

"Dear Shogen,
I King Roald, the white knights, and other rulers have decided to ask your help.
I would like you to meet me at my palace TODAY 10:30AM, we will be happy if
you're there."

King Roald of Varrock

Shogen looked at the clock, it was 9:50AM, "Please stay here, Guard my office"he ordered as he teleported to Varrock. Once there he immediately dashed towards the castle, a guard blocked him. "Who are you?!"he asked, "I'm Shogen leader of Yanille and I have a meeting!"he shouted as he kicked the guard. He took the sceptre out and held it in a royal way, he knocked the door of the throne room. "Come in"a voice said. He came in with a big smile on his face. There were fourseats that was in front of Roald, three of them were occupied. The first seat was occupied by the Duke of Lumbridge, the second was Sir Amik Varze, the third was King Lathas, he sat on the fourth seat. "So shall we begin?"King Roald asked in an elegant way.

"King Roald why did you called us here?"Sir Amik Varze asked, "Oh, as you can see there are still Zamorakians, and they are planning to attack Varrock!"he replied in fear, "So you want us to ally with you?"Shogen asked, "Yes I need all your help!"he said. "When is the war?"Sir Amik Varze asked, "Tomorrow"Roald said as fear was shown in his eyes. "We will not help!"King Lathas shouted as the others agreed. Balance is needed!
