Just wondering if anyone is going to purchase it. I probably will for the novelty value, if nothing else. Although, it is fantasy, so in the genre I normally read.

Edit: For those not aware, here's a link: http://www.jagexstore.com/product_info. ... ducts_id=1

I may look through it if it's at a library, but I don't know if I'd buy it right now
particularly since I'm currently on break and not working.

I don't know whether it'd be good or bad, but it would probably just be fun to
read through just for the sake of entertainment.

In the coming months, you can expect a lot from the Jagex Store. Plans are afoot to bring you a range of RuneScape merchandise to buy, including many that you voted for in the 'Shop till you Drop' poll.

One of these items is available for pre-order now: the first ever official RuneScape novel, Betrayal at Falador by T.S. Church. This fantasy epic opens with the discovery of a mysterious woman, found close to death within the walls of Falador Castle. Sir Amik and the White Knights are determined to reveal the identity of her attacker, thought to be a monster seen attacking travellers on the outskirts of Asgarnia. The question is: can the monster really be the blacksmith Doric, newly arrived from Keldagrim?

This Limited Edition hardback is available for pre-order now, and will be released on the 21st of July. Visit the Jagex Store to find out more, and keep an eye out for more news on available RuneScape merchandise.
I don't currently have an interest in reading something Jagex would produce...but is Church known for anything?

Interesting.
Might be worth the read but I know of someone writing a better rs book than that and he is an RVer. I am waiting for that one to come out.

Are they actually writing a real Rs book? I'd hate to see the amount they have to pay in copyright stuff to JAGeX.

Jagex probably paid them.
I might get it from the library, but it'll probably be a short read not worth buying.

It's a novel set in the places from runescape, which is probably what the one Jagex is talking about is doing as well. I doubt it is so much about runescape as just a fantasy story set in those places and using rs names of things. Just because it is rs related doesn't mean it won't be a good story, geez.

Anyway, my friend is working on finishing his and last I heard contacted Jagex about it but they hadn't replied yet. It would be great if they let him do it. I read part of it that he had finished and thought it was really good. I probably shouldn't have mentioned it though because if he wanted people to know all this he would have said something himself.

I find it interesting that Jagex is doing this now. Hopefully he has a shot at it too.
I'm sure they are getting a good part of the money from the sale of that book so you would think they would want to do more if it is successful.

You know, that wouldn't surprise me. I'll probably preorder it anyway. For a hard back, it's not actually that expensive. I've been reading a lot of a particular author and his hardbacks cost about £18 ($34) each!!! (£12 is about $23)

I'll pass till they make it into a movie.
And it has to have 'Brad Pitt' & 'Isla Fisher'
...and 'R' rated.

I'm not a fanatic or anything, so I'll just wait until it hits the bookstore or library or something... should be an interesting read, I suppose.

PS: ZCSE, I know who you're talking about

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

I'll probably read it.
Jaron should get Zamorak's Bane published. I'd buy that.

I wasn't expecting this from Jagex. Personally I don't really like the lore behind RS, and I quit last year anyway, so no I won't be getting it. But eh, interesting idea on Jagex's behalf.
