So I'm going to go ahead and get this show on the road. Bear with me here, this is probably going to be a *long* post.
I believe
Topsummoner is mafia. I am going to take on the not-small task of analyzing every post of his.
His first post.

Typical D1 nonsense, stays the course in voting for me as usual. Slightly more interesting this time around as I am town and I believe he is mafia.

Eh this is Rory's first game, I wouldn't read too much into that.
A totally bizarre game to start with though. I'm wondering to what extent we should be sharing information. It sounds highly likely, considering the example Vanilla PM Paid showed, that every or most players start with 2 items but there's not a whole lot of indication how many items there are and what the range of powers are.
Stating the obvious.

@Lander, Pyro: come ***ON*** guys

Since it's going to change, presumably frequently, I'm going to just come out and say what my items are and what they do. I want to get the ball rolling here.
Coal: Day-use item, I can use it to reduce the count of that player's Gift Vote by 1 for the remainder of the phase.
White Elephant: Night-use, I can use this at night to swap it for the first item in someone else's inventory.
I don't expect every or anyone else to share their items but I want something to happen. At the very least I'd like to know if all the Vanillas got the same starting item or if it varies.
Pandering. Notice how neither of his items seem particularly town-oriented and later on he conveniently traded me the least useful (to him, as mafia) of his two items.
You have to follow my stream of consciousness here. I was absolutely suspicious of Top from the moment he told us what his items were. He was, as someone pointed out, awfully quick to jump in to 'help' the town, gather info, and vote for what we know now to be confirmed townies (myself and Pyro [I consider myself confirmed as I condemned Spiro to death with no provocation. If you can't trust me right now, you can't trust anyone]). Also of note is his penchant for voting himself for gifts. It's at this point I will ask him to claim his role, reveal to us what item/s he has, and what they do as well as what gift he received, what it does/did and whether or not he used it. I would also urge everyone to gift vote for me at this point.

May as well not waste this then if we can manage it.
I have my doubts Pyro is going to post today.
See above.
Topsummoner wrote:
It was me. I used my White Elephant on you, and the item I received in return makes me inclined to believe you're town.
Which was kind of the desired effect I was looking for in using it. I think you can agree Thr it's in our best interest that I don't reveal what it does.
Once again, he targeted what he knew (as mafia) to be a townie. Forcefully switching items does not in any way seem like a town ability.
Topsummoner wrote:
You might have a point with the the gift vote Lander, but I don't see Paid giving the item I stole from Thr to a mafia member to start.
I did not give myself an extra vote, but I should have. The day phase ended while I was asleep.
Spiro
He voted for Spiro but would later retract his vote (and then hammer). He knows entirely too well the importance of getting on this train. Frankly, in a game like this, with the amount of time we had at the time, I am inclined to believe he voted to seem more town. We had plenty of time to let Spiro speak, his vote, then retraction, then hammer vote seems like a veteran mafioso caught in a conundrum.

Unvote
I would like to give Spiro to opportunity for his claim even though I don't buy his story. Plus we should fill out the gift vote too before reaching lynch majority.
Here's the unvote, as well as his cry to fill out the gift votes (for himself). I should have campaigned to have myself receive the gift votes yesterday but had I done that, I would likely be dead.

@Lander
Was your watching via the use of an item or through your role?
THIS is the other thing that struck me as incredibly scummy and out of left field. What difference does it make? Given how things turned out, I am clearly telling the truth. Fishing here to see if I have a role versus whether it was just a one off is very, very damning.
With that being said, I lied at that point in time. I watched Santa because of my role. I am Mrs. Claus. On even days, I can gift double-vote. On odd nights, I was locked to watch Santa Claus. Since Santa has died, I am now a baker and on odd nights I get to select one player to receive a gingerbread cookie which is an item that enables the user/receiver to double-gift vote. My other item was christmas lights, which I used on myself N1. This item enabled me to watch myself or whoever I use the item on.
Topsummoner wrote:
Is it safe to assume it was consumed by use, then? Most items seem to.
More fishing. Like Jesus, hopefully putting all this in one place will make people realize he's guilty.

Is everyone just going to ignore Top's fumble? Dude had info that would help the town and didn't say anything. That's a choice.
I wanted to see how Thr reacted to losing his item before coming clean, I thought this was pretty obvious.
Plus I don't yet want to say what the item is because that will hamper its effectiveness.
Your claim seems plausible. I would like to wait for Lander to answer my question regarding his item, and for a Gift majority to be reached (doesn't necessarily need to be on me but that would be fastest) before passing further judgment on you.
Interesting exchange. Top is quoting Spiro here. Easily could be them distancing themselves from one another as the writing was already on the wall. What's further interesting is Spiro, facing death, would never lob an accusation at a townie because it would make that townie look even more like a townie once he flipped mafia (if that makes sense). I believe wholeheartedly this is a simple ploy to distance himself from Top.
Again, Top never says why he thinks whether I used a role or an item seem important. To a townie, it wouldn't be.
Topsummoner wrote:
Spiro's been caught in his lie red handed; and for what it's worth, I would have bought Rory's claim even without his misguided quoting. Hell I'd have lynched him anyways with Lander's response.
If I die tonight, know this; 1. it is highly unlikely Thr is mafia though Lander suspects otherwise. 2. the mafia likely have the ability to sabotage or counterfeit items.
He hammers Spiro here, but this is almost required given how he had been playing. He assumes this act would absolve him of guilt.
BUT, the most damning evidence against Top is that I am still alive. I (kinda) pretended to be on his side, did not cast any suspicion on him whatsoever waiting for this moment. He left me alive, despite my damnation of Spiro because A. He believed I was acting as his ally, gift voting him, saying I thought he was town, etc and B. he believed my watching role to be the product of a one off item, far less of a threat to him than if I were a traditional watcher.
So in short, Top has placed votes in the past for two townies (pyro and myself), he was 2nd on the Spiro train, retracted his vote, then hammered. He forcefully traded items with Thr (a townie) which does not seem like something a town member would do. He was blatantly fishing for information regarding my role and never gave his specific reasoning for doing so. Lastly, Pyro was the only person who had said he was suspicious of Top. In the end he said he thought he was innocent because of the hammer, but I think initially Pyro was on to something and he paid the price.
With all that being said there are 4 of us left alive. I believe wholeheartedly that Frank is town. The mafioso is either Top or Aragorn. I would like to hear from Aragorn before we go much further, but I am convinced at this point in time that Top is scum based on all the evidence above. I sincerely hope we do not get into a deadlock due to Aragorn's inactivity.
Claims all around, what item/s do you have, how can we win this game?
Discuss.
