Scar

Every time.

Way to call out Tahu. Now place a vote and follow your own advice.

As much as I hate to say it, Tahu does this every game. It doesn't give him a free pass to act this way, I reprimand him every time, but to no avail. He's always content to wait things out and let some others do the gruntwork and offer his speculation or vote after some evidence is accumulated. Do I approve of this playstyle? Not really, but the choice is his to make. He acts this way whether he's town or scum, which is the worst of it. For now, I see nothing scummy from him other than the norm, which is ALWAYS mildly scummy.

Top is absolutely right about Aragorn, though condemning the man for one comment seems harsh. The wine's always in front of us.

You might be right about this, but I was being harsh in my accusations as to apply more pressure. Aragorn's certainly not doing a very good job of defending himself from what I say, however.

On the other hand, I don't like what Market is doing either. He too, had the 'that sucks' reaction, and his vote on Aragorn reeks of sheep to high heaven. FOS.

@ Aragorn

In case the point of my argument wasn't clear, it's time for you to start legitimately participating. What are your thoughts? Who do you think is mafia, and why?

Ok, I guess I was wrong, and I might have something new after all, because no one's mentioned it. The fact that we had a nurse means that the town effectively had two doctors who could protect one person between them; the death of one doesn't stop the other doctor from continuing to protect. That's an obvious town advantage, and Jaron's a smart host, so the mafia have some other advantage to make up for it (if I had to guess, I'd say roleblocker would be the most likely just from the metagame). Going on the assumption that the game is properly role-balanced, the mafia now have the advantage because they killed a village power-role. We ARE down a doctor, in effect.

This was said by me in a much less eloquent way, and it's pretty obvious besides, hence why I left my speculation short. I mean really, Tahu. What does this post by you amount to?

Tahu, as has been said, does this type of stuff every game. It's hard to get a bead on, and I'd vote for him if there weren't better targets.

Scar is riding off a streak. I don't like his helpfully unhelpful post, and he's my #2 pick right now. Both of these are overshadowed at the moment.

Market is playing so vastly differently from his usual self, both in frequency and style of posting. While this could also be caused by him being a power role instead of mafia, the way he's shifting suspicion so easily leads me to believe it's the latter.

No matter how much the Villagers discussed their current situation, none of them seemed to feel strongly enough to band together and condemn someone. The threat of death, perhaps, may not have been a big enough motivator. The reality of death, however, might change their minds if it indeed came to visit during the night.

Night 2 has begun

The Villagers woke up on the third morning, eager to get to the town square, but dreading that someone might not be there. Indeed, everyone arrived in a timely fashion except for Landerpurex. Already fearing the worst, the group headed to his house--but halfway there, they met up with Lander coming the other direction. He was clutching his chest, which had bloodied bandages wrapped around it. "You're alive!" someone shouted. "Just barely," Lander replied. "I was attacked last night--even passed out from losing so much blood--but someone came and tended to my wounds right afterward. I only wish I knew who it was so I could thank them..."

Lander insisted he was well enough to head to the town square and take place in the day's proceedings. And thus Day 3 began, slightly less morbid than the previous one, but still with a grim reminder of the Mafia's presence in the town.

Day 3 has begun
(ends ~8:45 PM CST on Saturday, May 19th)
8 players remain - 5 votes to lynch

I'm going to vote for Market Man.

His conclusions don't make any sense:

either a plain mafia, or plain villager.

Tahu's ignorance of this being a variant doesn't quite go as far as to suggest he's not a role.

I certainly don't know where he drew the conclusion that I'm *always* harsh in my accusations. It was a big point of last game that on Day One I was purposefully being far more aggressive than usual.

He makes posts that don't really contribute anything and just seem like sucking up.

And oh god, the blatant sheepiness of this vote should go without saying.

This post stinks too. The aforementioned 'that sucks' reaction, and pretty blatant rolefishing on Scar.

Right now Market is the scummiest person alive.

Gonna have to agree with Top here: Riptide, the existence of a medical student essentially guarantees the existence of a doctor. I understand that some of the previous games have been, shall we say, wonky (Monk, I'm looking at you), but I doubt Jaron would give the town a role that made no sense.

The only two variants I've played are UPick and Monk's game. I've never played a game with a backup doctor.

Ohohohoho! What a fabulous turn of events. I honestly expected to be dead this time around.

We're dealing with a powerful (read:veteran, or at least, clever) type of mafia. They're not so concerned with rolefishing as they are with killing veteran players who will bring them down.

I think Market Man6 is our best bet for reasons Top stated. Also, if everyone is willing to believe that I am a confirmed villager, Market also placed a vote for me at one point, making him scummy. And as soon as I showed up, he withdrew his vote rather than pursuing it further. I think this shows he's afraid of messing up in an argument with me.

Others who I think are scummy are Scar and Aragorn, for reasons I've stated. The more I argue with Scar throughout games, the more I think it might just be his playstyle, but he's stayed pretty well hidden in the shadows while offering little contribution while still posting actively. Aragorn's vanilla townie claim still reeks, and he blatantly ignored Top's push to post who he thinks is scum and why.

Though if Market turns up scum, Aragorn almost certainly isn't. UNLESS he was trying to bus his fellow mafioso with that vote that followed Top's.

Other than that, no one voted for Doc (that I see) and no one really went head to head with him except Aragorn.

It's not just Lander he's afraid to argue with. All he's doing is sitting back with a "Prove it." attitude with everyone, or non-defenses as shown above. He's afraid of making a mistake - which is itself a mistake. I have no qualms replacing my vote on Market.
