Whelp, here goes.

In an astounding display of idiocy and sleep deprivation, last (game) night I posted my night action on the topic rather than PMing it to Animal. Anyone paying attention at the time would now know that I can mute people.

I don't know how many people saw it (At least one), and as it would be unfair information for the people who did see the post, I'm just going to roleclaim. I am . Each night I have the power to mute someone, and I must follow up each of my votes with a .

I have no intent on using this until the late game, hopefully to prevent stalemate arguments. At the moment there is no need for it, which is why I did not mute anyone last night.

I looked a bit further into it and it seems he was a benevolent president who tried to improve relations with other peoples, reform the navy, establish military control where needed, and remove military occupation where not needed.

So going off that perhaps he would have been able to convert a Mafia member or prevent a night kill somehow?

Under what the hell kind of circumstances would muting someone be helpful to the town? Muting a townie would only hinder us, and muting a mafioso would only prevent us from getting information.

Also, I didn't see your post...and since someone saw it, it's only fair for everyone to know what it said. At any rate, odds are you could even be lying and you could have tried to mute someone last night, which makes your claim that you'll only use it later a lie. Though it seems no one HAS been muted, as it's traditionally made known at the beginning of the day. But this IS Upick.

I fail to see how a muting role can be helpful to the town, STEELY MALLON. And your claim to use it to prevent worthless arguments is 100% bogus. Any exchange in this game can be made useful in some way or another.

Take last game for instance. Had someone muted me to keep me from talking my ass off, you'd probably have all gotten around to lynching me and might have won the game.

And I'm not really sure what you mean with your middle paragraph. That what I posted on the topic could have been a lie? If that were the case, it would imply I intentionally posted on the topic with the intent to mislead people. I believe that is a much more serious accusation than that I am just mafia.

Seriously Monk, what are you on about? If you can't give me a straight answer to a question then whatever role you have, it is stopping you be any use to the village in finding mafia :/

Right now though, I'm with Lander. Steely has admitted to being a muter. That is not a beneficial role to villagers... it is a great help to mafia though, and I think last night's mistake was unfortunate for him, but a lucky break for us.

My middle paragraph was speculating that if you HAD tried to mute someone last night, that would make you a liar. I didn't see the post, I had no idea what it said until tanks confirmed it.

And had someone muted you last game, you wouldn't have been looking progressively scummier to me (and top, for that matter...) so it would have been a bad thing in the end. Muting a mafioso does us zero good and the fact that you suggest that makes me more suspicious. When before you said you'd use it to prevent "stalemate arguments". I take this to mean between two confused villagers so something can actually get done. I see your point now as you changing your story...which is scummy.

Just because Steely has a role that says "Mute people" does NOT make him a mafia, since this is a game where people pick names instead of roles. My name was supposed to end as a schizophrenic kind of deal, didn't get anywhere close--it's an oversight to suggest his role as a muter dictates his standing with the town, but one of you's a sheep and one of you's not letting up.

How on earth am I changing my story? Was my example not one of a stalemate argument? Three days of it and no lynch procured. That was what I had in mind when I said stalemate. That you took my words differently does not mean I changed them.

I'm definitely not denying it's an odd role for my alignment, but what can I do. I didn't ask for it. I don't exactly know what to do with it, but to say there's no way a mute could benefit the town is just silly.

Now suspicious of Lander and/or Dr Henry, as I think you guys are ignoring a key detail: If muting is beneficial to the mafia, why didn't he mute someone? Steely is all but confirmed in my eyes. Yes, he is an easy lynch, because he is a confirmed role. No, I don't think he should be lynched. FoS or whatever the hell the acronym is on you two, but I'm not changing my vote because I'm serious about Jack.

I extrapolated that because the actual person it is based off of can(for example) improve relations, that could be interpreted as the abiity to better the villages relations with one Mafia member.

Really it was all just speculation as to what Tahu's role may have been able to do which I suppose doesn't really have any effect one what is going on in the game right now.

Ah, much better. I thought you were just going to spout obscenities all game but at least they can make sense towards specific things.

@Bluecoat, this early in the game there is very little suspicion on any singular person, no-one really to pick out and mute, and 9/10 times anyone a mafia mutes this early is because they view them as a threat, therefore usually making that person more likely to be a villager.

However now there are people being outspoken, such as Lander, Kikori, proper votes flying, and the mafia muter could choose to silence the person being targetted or the aggressor for whatever reason they have.

Steely could have just wanted to hide the fact that there was a muter until later, and failed miserably. I'm not buying his act.
