The fact of the matter is, Jack killed Jesus. Jesus is our savior. Thus, Jack is the antichrist.

Antichrist=bad.

jackstick

serious note: If jack turns up town, watch for paidea as mafia. Jack's always an easy scapegoat, especially here.

Jack's almost definitely town. I mean really, that's not the find of power you give to a mafioso. It's practically a guarantee that an extra non-mafia will be taken out. We were just lucky Jack's only intent was to mess around with Muffin.

But yeah, I just like killing Jackstick, so my vote stays.

And I'm curious if Jack's role is a one-shot use. Killing at three votes against him practically makes him unlynchable, but I'm not sure if we have any night killing roles aside from the mafia.

The only reason I don't wanna vote for Jack at the moment lies in his recent quick-to-die mafia history, in chat mafia recently and Mentos' topic.

I can't speak for chat mafia, but he rather brought his death on himself in mentos' mafia game. Not sure that's a good reason to hold off him.

It ain't necessarily so - if he was our saviour he wouldn't be a neutral role would he?

...come again? We've had mafiosos who have killed in addition to the night kill - poisoner and I know there is a scum role involving some kind of daykill (I contemplated putting it into a mafia game I hosted once). My view on this would change if it turns out Jack's ability was infinitely reuseable as that is significantly more OPed. For now though, Steely Mallon for what reads like a defence of a chum (who ironically doesn't seem to give a damn about justifying his actions).

I agree with Steely. On IRC mafia, there's a type of mafia like this called Marine Architect, where people pick there own roles. We've had lots of crap fly because of people occasionally giving Mafia an extra killing role, because it makes them impossibly overpowered. Day killing roles are nearly ALWAYS TOWN. What we CAN expect today is maybe something like a Mafia Detective, Mafia Roleblocker, and maybe a muter.

That being said, Paidea jumped on Jackstick for "Lying about his role". Why should anyway have to reveal their role today unless they're close to being lynched? He also said that because Jackstick used his role, he's now useless. But how is a confirmed townie useless?

Hold up, hold up. Jack did claim to reveal his role and he wasn't telling the truth; he did lie about his role. That'd be understandable if he were a confirmed villager - but unless I missed the memo, he isn't. You raise a fair point about the danger of daykilling roles being overpowered. But that doesn't mean that Top didn't include one. For a start, this isn't the average game - given that we chose role names I'm assuming that most (all?) of us have special abilities. Jack's daykilling could be balanced by a pro-town DKer or by some more complex balancing process. It's also yet to be established whether Jack has used up his role. As I said above, if he has multiple daykills then I'd be much more persuaded as to his villager status. But a single, one-use daykiller is easily counter-balanced and I really don't see how it is different to a mafia one-shot poisoner.

I'm not supporting a lynch of Jackstick today simply because the potential gain is outweighed by the loss of a potential pro-town DKer, but that doesn't mean I like the vibes I'm getting from Jack. Steely is a nice proxy vote for Jackstick, methinks.

I disagree, Tweedy.

Jackstick may be a completely idiot and not be bothering to defend himself but Steely's thinking logically.

It's more likely that Jack is a villager. I'd rather vote for Paidea. Jackstick lied for a good reason and it took out a neutral role. -shrugs-

The problem is not that it is an extra killing role but the manner in which that extra kill occurs. If Jack came out tomorrow and said "Yeah I poisoned Muffin last night," I'd be suspicious. But it's not like that, Jack's role requires voting for him for it to work, and the kill happens mid day. That is what makes it so unlikely for him to be mafia.

And think about it like this, if Jack were mafia, he could not have picked a less strategic way to use his role. Wait a couple days and he could take out a power role with out any risk of doctor protection.

Really, there's no way he's mafia.

I'll start voting more seriously, though, and unvote for now.

By today, I meant in general. Going off of previous MA games I've played, while they weren't here, the most popular roles picked were Mafia Detective, and Mafia Roleblocker. Muter seems to be used around here more often.

Nothing matters anymore, you fools. The fate of the village will be decided Day 3 when Muffin Attak rises from the dead and battles me in my final form.

I, of course, will win.

Based on the roles that have been revealed so far (Jesus, and whatever Jacks thing is) I would venture to say a large majority of us went outside the box with our names.

Care to further elaborate on the rules of those games though? Like, did they have to pick established roles or was it like this one where you just sent in a name?

I think everyone just sent in a name. I'll bet Top had fun making up some of the roles.

Lynch all liars policy. Liars are either mafia, or if they're town, lynching them will teach them not to lie.

Yeah, he hit Muffin, a third party, but that is circumstantial. He could have hit a villager or mafioso just as easily, so that point is invalid. I don't understand why everyone is automatically confirming Jackstick as a villager just because he used an ability, especially since he LIED about what it did.

Jackstick didn't lie for a "good" reason. He lied to achieve what he wanted: the opportunity to use his ability, which was (predictably) to kill Muffin Attak, who just happened to be a third party.

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

Should the detective not lie to keep their role secret (especially on the first day) as to not present a target for the mafia? The town can use misinformation too. Paidea because of the above.

My vote certainly stands.

Also, I forgot that we picked names, not roles. That still doesn't mean that Jack is mafia, he's still probably town. Lynching him "to teach others not to lie" is just Fuzzy Bunny.

Paidea.

Lynching someone just to teach him a lesson (Which he clearly won't learn, also.), especially when he is almost certainly villager is counter-intuitive and in no way pro-town.

Ehhhh...

Paidea is definitely fabricating a BS argument here, but it's almost TOO blatant...something tells me he wants to be lynched. :?:

Ding! Ding! Ding!

He hasn't mentioned the metagame last couple of games...and now he wants to lynch Jackstick - a lost cause if ever there was one - to teach him to play properly?
