God Fuzzy Bunny dammit. I fail to see how you guys didn't realize that Blue was the demon.

The man hid behind his unlynchable role. After it first had happened, he didn't offer an explanation or anything, and no one asked for one. He wasn't pressed at all, only assumed to be a villager for reasons unbeknownst to me.

Anyway, someone else can host for now. I am taking a trip in a week or so, and will be gone for a week with very little (or no) internet access.

I'll get the next one after that. Mine WILL be vanilla, I promise. Comparatively.

I can't do all the work, I found the mafia Godfather, the mafia JoAT (with Sayaka), had sussed out Phantom and suspected Bluecoat, I never bought him as town, I actually thought he was demon aligned but not the demon itself.

Bro.

You listed Bluecoat as probable town no fewer than two (2) times on the past 2 pages.

I'm just saying, traditionally the 'escape artist' is a mafia or third party role. I was just baffled as to how he got off scot free.

Okay I take that back, I never totally bought that he was town, I've never played a round with an escape artist role, if I had I might've been in a better position. This is the first game in a very long time where I've been in a position to affect proceedings in any way and I don't think I did that badly, but I'm sorry I wasn't up to your standards.

SON OF A BITCH...I just remembered I took a coin flip for my investigation of Paidea too, and it was between Phantom. I think the mafia gods (and possibly Jack) are trolling me.

Dat sarcasm.

I'm not calling you a Fuzzy Bunny player or anything like that. You said you never thought he was town, besides claiming the exact opposite.

Everyone makes mistakes, man. I was totally fleeced by Penguin a few games ago. In my second (third?) game , I had it in my head that Paidea was town and it turned out he was mafia. I'm glad I got my mojo back, and given the circumstances, you played really well.

Bluecoat just played better.

Haha it's fine, I've just been up to my head in work lately so I'm just venting, I know what you meant. In all seriousness though I swear I used to be far better at this game. I remember back in legends mafia when I was vigilante I managed 3 mafia night-kills in a row, all worked out through cross-referencing what people had said. Now I can barely get a read on anyone so either I got a lot worse or everyone else got a lot better, I'm hoping the latter.

Kudos to you though, Bluecoat.

Really can't see how you managed to kill Aragorn and not blue... I said so many times that the demon was either him or frisky, and frisky was commuter...

As for ex Rex, thought he was Mafia, investigated him as my thoughts were correct, villager results confused me and I never really thought about it being wrong until after my death.

Jack, great game, but I feel that the demon needing to be killed three times was far too overpowered...

Despite being cleared almost immediately, I played rather poorly this game. I wasn't extremely far off in any viewpoints I held, but I also didn't really spearhead anything, and the last day or two I was alive, everything happened so fast that I didn't even get a chance to post.

I believe I may have been experiencing an effect I've observed in my own Upick games but haven't directly felt until now: a sense of apathy and confusion about normal scumhunting when there is a high density of strange power roles.

Very well put together game though. The preconcieved notion that the Demon had to recruit lost us a lot of time. I don't think three lives was too overpowered for the Demon, it would be really lame if random nightkills offed him early.

Partly on a hunch, based on this post:
Godders wrote:
This demon, is it likely to just be a cultist type character, or is it likely to also have other abilities like Kill or Jail or something.

Mostly for the lulz, based on this post:
Godders wrote:
I have strong reason to believe that Market Man6 is Mafia, so much so that im not going to vote for him without proof from a non-noctural detective.

Thought a stalker watching Market kill you, or you having some weird role that could see people who attack you, or a watcher watching you die would be freaking hilarious. I just happened to get the best possible outcome from it :awesome:

Hey, I called him out as the demon; literally the only fake thing I said this entire game was that I was the Demon Hunter. Why you all weren't all over him after he didn't die is beyond me.

Of course, had you guys listened to me, mafia would've then won instantly, so...

Well I can't say I'm disappointed since I won, but I would have liked to see the town pull it together for once and win. To me it should have been obvious that the demon would be the most OP role, and so being targeted would probably leave them unaffected except in special circumstances. After bluecoat survived the first offing, I immediately knew he was the demon. Why the village chose to lynch frisky and aragorn is beyond me, but I think the combination of mafia + possessed people realizing the demon was probably going to win was too much anyway.

Well played bluecoat, well hosted jack.

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

By the way, my first strategy was going to be a series of incognito roleclaims, listing information only my minions or I would know. I technically started roleclaiming the same post where I started the Kikori train.

Third party games are hard to balance, and Jack has said he's expecting this game to be long. My guess is that there's some sort of limiting factor on the demon's faction, so it might not be a good idea to think of it as a cult or a mason group. Maybe they don't know who each other are? Maybe they can only kill, not recruit? We don't know, but I wouldn't spend time worrying about how to deal with a cult or third party masons, because the fact as, they're dealt with the same- Hope that someone who can kill at night, mafia or vigilante or serial killer, kills them, and hope that the lynches are good ones. Sitting here speculating wastes time that could be spent lynching. There HAS to be some sort of limiting factor here though, otherwise this game is going to be really short.

Had my minions not been a bunch of :bunny: :bunny: :bunny:, and Kikori not released his pm, I would've continued to "speculate" in various ways, eventually creating a voting block of minions. Again though, :bunny:.

Wow that was a fun game. Thank you Jackstick for a surprisingly well balanced game, definitely felt that any faction could have won. It's a shame that the village is too often indecisive in critical moment, that's what I felt lost us the game. Good job to everyone!

omg omg you made a Knockin' on Heaven's Door reference, how did I never do that during a Mafia game you are the best I love you

Also you did a REALLY good job of balancing the game, especially when practically all of it revolved around luck!

Anytime, Market. You were actually going to be my go-to minion for the whole game, but when Sayaka and Paidea both claimed on the same day, I figured it would be better to not put you in a position to be seen.
