I hate to leave behind characters as developed and invested upon as our main party, but the temptation to use some of my characters is quite the overwhelming one.

I'm in. Calypso and Kid have thus far been successful, so I am pleased with my creativity.
EDIT: Umbra is done and waiting. I'm assuming this is a normal setting quasi-good campaign, by the way. If we're finally doing Dark Sun, definitely gotta go elsewhere with my character.

I've got a campaign designed for levels 5-15, but I'd like for the regular players to get together and make their characters. You don't have to have all of the roles filled as long as you guys have backstories. I'd like to know why a bunch of level 5 characters are hanging out together. If you guys come up with a really intricate backstory and want to do something non-traditional, like have a group seeking to become the greatest necromancers in all the land or something, then I'll scrap what I have.

I have no requirements on alignments; all that I ask is no Forgotten Realms stuff outside of classes. I don't want to be dealing with a whole bunch of random languages to things that don't exist. This also means only standard pantheon gods.

My schedule is still random as of late. I'll have to wing it on open days.
If you mean this week, both Friday and Saturday are off-at-suppertime ish.

Lets start planning for next week then. My Fridays are currently booked for a three week Dread campaign, followed by a BESM campaign with the same group, so it'll have to be on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday... preferably not too early on Saturday, as the Dread games have been going til like 2 am.

I'm out of town from Saturday to Saturday so next week doesn't work for me. If you guys want to do a session, that's fine, and I'll just jump in when I get back.

Thursday works for me... as long as my grandmother doesn't keep me over all day while installing a new router for her.
Which I predict she'll try to.

Game tonight. Starts somewhere between 5 and 6 pac, 8 and 9 est.

Specifics for people who don't know them:

Level 5
No forgotten realms stuff
No dark sun stuff
1 magic item, level 5 or lower
2 wonderous items, level 3 or lower
1000 gp

Here's the setting:
100 years ago, the skies changed. The night sky is blood stained, and the stars have fled to the day. Dragons fought a war as suddenly as it ended, and are all but a memory.

Two gods are dead. Ioun, goddess of knowledge, and Pelor, god of the sun, have disappeared. Their dominions remain strong, and so worship of them continues in the hope that they will someday return. That is, where their temples haven't been desecrated.

Kingdoms have risen and fallen in the fairly recent absence of dragons; trading posts have opened and been ransacked by emboldened bandits, and adventurers delve caves in search of abandoned treasure.

In short, things are a little different now...

Players can worship the standard pantheon, same as with my last campaign. If you have questions about this, look up what gods are listed in the player's handbook 1. Players are also free to worship Pelor and Ioun, just be awhere that you don't know where they are. Feel free to form your own theories of worship with them.

All was fairly well within the port town one fine morning, the weather fair and blood-soaked sky out of the minds of many a patron of the bar. One noble scoffing at the town's famous fruity drinks earning the scorn of those calling it some was to be the worst of the day, until one lady in the chanted a devious ritual, draining the water out for a powerful wave to overtake the city.

Four heroes had little time and chance to react, leaving two to die as the village found itself in a panic. Above them the chanting continued, only noticed by a couple. A young Tiefling saw the chance at safety, an old library tower of Ioun's atop a cliff and hill, and called both light and sound to direct the panicked villagers to potential safety. The noblemen sped ahead, guided by his commanding voice and history of the terrain allowing him a faster route. One primal-attuned musician summoned a spirit to carry himself and a gnome he had saved, the three arriving to safety and marshaling in the villagers moments before the arrival of the water. The Tiefling was a little less lucky. In her desperation to beat the oncoming wave, she crafted a grappling hook to hurtle to the clifftop, but her weak physical stature left her at the mercy of the water as the villagers made it safely.

Away she was carried, lucky to survive and finding many a fallen tree and slain body. One lone person, an elderly lady with a stick impaled within her side, remained alive. Having failed once, she took it on herself to ensure the lady made it back to the village, ignoring many a plea to be left behind, going from an assisted walk to a begrudged drag across the grass. At length, the lady finally dropped some sort of ruse, thanking the Tiefling for her kindness but landing a ferocious blow to the face that left the young demoness out cold, her only chance at a rebuke being a burst of her natural infernal fire before darkness took her. As she awoke, freshly bandages and wounds tended to, she found a sack at her feet bearing a note. It was an apology for the sucker punch, and offering of payment for her kindness, four platinum pieces and half a goat's corpse. To be defeated by an old lady and left such an animal... Such is the trickery of a Bronze Dragon, she thought, but those have been gone for ages?

Meanwhile, the remainder of the party found themselves still in harm's way even in the safety of the tower. As water crashed upon it, deep chanting of another ritual took to the area. However, holes caused by the sheer pressure and force of the water were soon repaired, a testament to the power of the building keeping it from falling apart. Despite this, after the water's recession, pounding came upon the door. Ever the leader, the musician opened the door, catching a glimpse of an undead horde before him. He slammed it shut as quickly as possible, failed to contain the situation from the already shaken villagers, and created a small panic. Left with little to do but quell the threat, the noble Cleric took it upon himself to remove the heathens... if he could have help. At length, the musician tapped into the spirits he communicated with and brought about a thunderous rumble that caused a small cowering of fear in the minions, soon bringing their demise as the Cleric stepped out. In a burst of holy light, he banished all but one of the undead. What was left was an abomination, a beast of stone and dead flesh with tentacles aimed for the minds of its victims. Despite its ferocity, it was soon beset by the two with aid of the rescued Gnome, small in size but powerful in its stealthy blows. Without a chance to land a single blow, the beast spurted blood and turned its attention to the helpless villagers within the library. The adults managed to avoid it, but the children were nearly slain, possibly left for dead after a grasp from the tentacles and slam into the walls.
The musician would have none of it. He slid himself between the innocent and the beast, forcing it back a ways and into the waiting weapons of his allies. Effectively surrounded, the abomination could only flail its tentacles, finally finding a grasp on the mind of the musician. However, it was again pulled from its desired target, having to release its hold and soon slain by the trio. With only potentially two dead in the tower, the group seemed safe. Certainly in better condition than the remains of the town some ten minutes away.

Rewards
+600 exp each (6100/7500 for level 6)
+4 Platinum (+400 gold) for Ember
+??? for Nate, Frug, and (East's character's complex name)
