WHY ARE WE ALL YELLING! AAAAHHHHH. I agree, day cycles should be shorter, perhaps if we smack the earth with a giant meteor it will fix things. Alternatively, we could pack up our town and drive towards the eastern horizon. We could also shave off the radius of earth and through conservation of angular momentum the angular velocity. Or, by the same token, somehow hollow out the earth and remove that mass from the earth. We could all take a bunch of ecstasy. That'd be great and probably "speed" things up.

If two-thirds majority wants the day phase to be shortened to 60 hours (by half a day), I will do so.

We rarely get much done in 72 hours, so 60 hours will just make life easier and easier for mafia. So many times we fail to get a lynch because of inactivity/people saying "I'll vote when I get back" and disappearing.

Those twelve hours could be crucial.

If people want the day to end early then vote Day End or something.

I would prefer 60. Like Henry I worried about that, high activity at the beginning of the day and then it dies off. However, I have noticed that if nothing usually happens before the first half of the day, nothing will happen the rest most of the time. People will always say they will post later or vote and then go away, whether they have 60 or 72 hours to do so.

I vote no. You want to reduce the day by 12 hours? The last 12 hours of the day can be extremely important.

Seems like these 72 hour days just draw things out longer than they should. Musc's mafia games have much shorter days with very concentrated activity in them; I don't think the mafia would benefit because I think that all activity (villagers and mafia alike) will increase to compensate.

It's also pretty easy to lose interest in the game when it's three days of nothing, but that's just me.

There is still a last 12 hours in a 60 hour day. Maybe it is the chat mafia games that are effecting my desire for some urgency, but like blue, I have looked at several of Musc's 30 person games. They finished 2 games in the time it took us to finish our game that was already N4.

Kisshoten, do you have a stance on the shortening of the days? I agree that it will move things along quicker. If we cut it shorter we will cram the useful bits into the smaller amount of time. It drains me to log on so many times just to see nothing has developed. I propose also we speak only in haiku.
