I hosted a variant Dethy game at one point long ago as one of the first variants. And a second one with a larger variant of the variant. But not within an "normal" game.

It's the only thing I can think of to explain three Detective claims though.

One of two things is happening here. Monk has (theoretically) included every god damned variation of certain roles that he can manage.

Or the mafia is mass claiming under *someone's* direction to confuse us.

I'm now playing this game under protest. I was told it would be a normal game, more or less. If there are this many roles, this game is nowhere near normal.

I was thinking that, hence asking for a fourth (if one of them only gets scum claims, the other would only get innocent to counter that).

'only thing to explain three detectives' is wrong though. Fake roleclaiming also does that.

My vote for you stands.

Yeah. So either everyone else in this bloody game has a role of some sort but me, or there is a lot of fake roleclaiming.

I'd vote for the latter. Alongside the mafia mass claiming to confuse us. I think Godders is legit. Riptide took so long to come forward because he had to read his mafia cohorts plan. Perhaps (only perhaps) Kikori is clear here, leaving Top, Ex Rex and Riptide and the three I believe to be mafia (unless we have 4? That would include Kik).

@Top.

Mafia be crazy. Pulling a stunt like this, we have to decide between mafia and legit roles, with hesitations giving the mafia chances to kill off the non-claiming vanillas, as well as possibly killing off our own doctor/detective.

Sounds like something that would need a veteran or two to orchestrate. Kikori, Top, Ex Rex and Riptide. Those are the four I name as mafia. Kikori isn't roleclaiming on the off-chance that the scheme fails so he can once again be distanced.

This is what I believe right now.

The Mafia could generally be confusing us. Since Rex claimed as well, and if this isn't Dethy, then the Mafia is probably full of shenanigans.

Here's another possiblity. The mafia haven't claimed at all yet. There is actually multiple detectives and doctors.

This would leave the unclaimed as potential scum.

Kikori, Scar, Market, You, Aragorn, and Tahu.

Forgot Tahu was even in the game o.O

Yeah, it is a possibility. There a lots of possibilities. I have named the one I believe to be true. I'm rarely correct in these games, so if I'm wrong I wont take it too badly... but I'm really trying to be on the ball this game so if I am correct I will be VERY HAPPY and maybe even do a dance.

Kikori hasn't claimed because he's likely been at work. He hasn't seen any of this nonsense. I'm eagerly awaiting his reaction.

At any rate, the best guess I can come up with at this point is Market Man6 once more.

Doc gets a FOS because...vanilla townie doesn't seem likely to me all of the sudden. As mafia with a bunch of people claiming, it's always easier to claim vanilla as you're less likely to get caught in your lie that way.

TOP: You CAN or CAN NOT protect the same person consecutive nights?

I'm also very suspicious of Scar.

I'm going to assume there's no Random detective because there's no way to test that and it's really unfair.

Godders - Investigated me, came up Guilty. Insane or Paranoid.

Ex Rex - Investigated Kikori, came up Innocent. Sane, Insane, or Naive.

Riptide - Investigated Kikori, came up Guilty. Sane, Insane, or Paranoid.

There should be one more detective out there to round out the set of four classic dethy detectives.

I'm gonna be extra pissed off if this really is how this is set up.

Since we can't trade protects, Top, I really have no plan of action. I'll likely protect whichever detective I determine to be most likely to be sane. Or insane, as it were, because they're just as useful once they're figured out.
