Nick finished up with the police, and made his way to the restaraunt. He noticed Tabitha and Quinn at a table and made is way to them.

"Everything should be handled now, they didn't suspect a thing. Hey, Quinn."

"Oh, I, uh, bought an iPod. For the bus rides to and from school and whatnot," Quinn said, referring to the shopping bag. He didn't know whether he wanted to mention that he had run into a mugger as well...it seemed like their trio had taken care of the situation easily enough, so Quinn assumed the guy hadn't had a gun like his own attacker, and that the events were unrelated. Although it doesn't bode well for Myron County's crime rate after all, he thought. He was glancing at Tabitha's phone (it really did look pretty state-of-the-art) when Nick walked in. "Hi, Nick." Something he said struck Quinn as really odd. "Suspect...what?" He hated being out of the loop such that he had to ask questions to catch up (or rather, hated being a bother by asking a lot of questions), but if high school had taught Quinn anything, it was that you probably weren't going to get any information unless you actually outright asked for it.

"Nothing really.. I helped a little to disarm the guy.. but I did not want to get involved. I would explain better, but at the moment I can not, not here. I just hurt my arm a little and did not want the pesky questioning." Tabitha says grabbing her arm. It still hurt a lot as much as she tried to hide it.

The food eventually did come. Tabitha tried her best to use one hand to eat the calzone which she struggled with a little. "These are even better after a bad week, you know?.. And lord knows I have had a bad week."

"I considered a mp3 player, but I really listen to very little music... Anyway, how are yours? I get these all the time." She genuinely enjoyed the calzone. It was enough to keep her mind off things. "Do you guys have plans for the weekend?"

Shane took a bite of his, not knowing what to expect due to being a pizza guy. It was a bit messier than he expected, but... "Not bad." It was definitely something he'd consider as a change to pizza when at places like this. Shane swallowed his second bite and looked at Tabitha upon her question. "Saturday nights are our practice nights--me, Jeff, Eric--and that's usually all I've got set out. Otherwise it's usually games, drawing, and random stuff on the 'net."

Shortly after Shane replied a familiar voice calls out with a thick German accent Tabitha's father was at the door moving toward the table. "Tabitha! We are going.. "

"Father?! I thought you were.." Tabitha tries to say.

"Now! No more talking." He says and promptly turns and exits.

She gets up and follows him out looking back briefly at everyone she left. There was a feeling of regret and dread of what was to come. He came home early. He even came directly to where I was.. The drive home was completely silent both from the quiet ride of the car as well as the complete lack of any conversation. Mr. Schablone kept directly faced forward the entire time until they made it back.

As soon as they made it back, she followed the same ritual taking his coat and getting him a drink as he sat down. He took a sip from it to test and then motioned to have her to sit. "Go on. We both know why I am here. I want you to be honest."

Tabitha sat clenching her hands together "I found out.. I knew since Wednesday when Kent attacked me. I found the panel and then what it does... Father, what am I? Am I even human?"

"No.. That is the short answer." He throws out abruptly. "Your intelligence is based on human logic. But aside from that, there is no biological component, nor ever has been."

She sat stunned in a mixed state of shock. "Then I am nothing?"

He sat next to her and continued "Nothing has changed, and you are still my daughter. I can explain more later while I replace your arm."

Quinn opened his mouth to follow Shane's reply, but was cut off by Mr. Schablone's sudden appearance. He and Tabitha took off, although it seemed she left reluctantly--and halfway through her meal, no less, since she seemed to have been a slow eater. Quinn was kind of dumbfounded. "Uhhh...kaaay?"

Tabitha called Nick's cell

"Sorry I had to leave so fast. Father found out my phone broke. I am not sure if it can be repaired though... So I do not know if I can make it back tonight. He was rather upset with me. He left for his business trip already though.. .
*pause*
....So anyway.. If you guys have any other plans I can try to make it later. It was nice though to be out. If you could save the rest of my calzone though I can get it later."

She sat at her bed looking at her 'new' arm clenching the hand repeatedly. Instead of dwelling on it, she put on her headphones and started Battlefield, it was always a good distraction. She could hardly help but to yell at people doing terribly in spite of no voice chat. With accusations of aimbotting, she laughed by musing over the concept if they knew the truth. I should have asked the guys if they played any games.. Doubt they would be any good..

Nick then continued to eat when he got a call from Tabitha on his phone.

"Ok, well maybe we could just meet up at your house or something to figure out what we could do? I'll box up your calzone right now."

"Interesting set of options. Barge in on a pissed off dad or stay here and wonder what could be." Shane stood up, half-finished Calzone and drink in his hands. "I know you're coming, Nick, since we need a hand for her box. Quinn, you coming, too?" As much as he loved drawing, delving into the mysteries he'd been presented with seemed to give Shane a lot more to look forward to than he thought would come of the situation. Something about learning about others seemed to be calling out to him now.

...'Explain later'? Which implies that her dad barging in either wasn't unexpected, or was completely reasonable? That's...odd? I guess?

"Uh, sure, yeah, if you don't mind," Quinn replied to Shane, also grabbing the rest of his meal. Given the chance of walking home alone given what had already happened that day, versus going somewhere with a couple of friends (one of which being an awesome scholar athlete), Quinn got the feeling he'd be safer (such as it was) going to Tabitha's house with the rest of them. Not that he didn't want to go and figure out what was going on...but at least in his mind he had justification for doing so.

Nick grabbed his and Tabitha's leftovers and headed out the door towards Tabitha's house.

Tabitha continued playing her game shortly after hearing the doorbell. "Almost done... WHAT!?" Arg!" Her jet explodes for seemingly no reason and she logs out and heads downstairs to the door. "Oh sorry for the delay.. I was playing battlefield. So I did not hear the door."

She led them in. "Sorry about leaving so fast. I suppose Father tried to call me shortly after and found my phone was broken. He was furious.. but he left a while ago back to his business trip." After sitting and relaxing a bit, she had completely forgotten that her new arm had no bandages on it. "So.. Shane and Nick already know.. And I do not want to leave you out." She undoes the top button on her shirt like before and she opens the strange panel near her collar by pinching and pressing the panel open. "I found out after Kent attacked me in the bathroom. And there are buttons inside which detach parts of my body. As far as I know most of my body is mechanical. As you can expect, I really do not want this to get spread around.. particularly if people like me are getting abducted or killed.."

After a while she starts again "It made me think though.. if Stephanie is starting a group to fight this disappearance thing.. I wonder what it would be like, you know? To be a super hero or something. I wish I could, but even with a mechanical body, I can still be injured and hurt..."

Quinn had no idea what kind of 'explanation' to expect, but it certainly wasn't Tabitha acting like she was going to take her shirt off. He tried to nervously avert his gaze, but glanced back once he heard the clicking sound of the panel in her chest popping open. Despite trying not to be completely dumbfounded and speechless, he was. And...the other two already knew about this? And were acting so casual about it? He was able to mumble out an obligatory "of course" when she mentioned not spreading it around, but the questions kept popping into his head. But h--but how is this even possible? No computer's even passed the Turing Test, and..."most" of her body is mechanical? He put himself in her shoes, so to speak, and decided against asking anything of the sort. No doubt she had probably had all of those questions herself--for some reason, he didn't doubt any of this story one bit. Quinn heard her mention something about Stephanie and superheroes, but instead of inquiring about things to catch up, opted to just hear them out and try to figure things out from the context. He counted himself unbelievably lucky to even be in this room right now. His second question about Tabitha escaped his lips shortly thereafter, though. "How do you...grow? I assume you haven't been 17 your whole life..." His imagination suddenly took off on its own, thinking up all sorts of scenarios like Tabitha's consciousness being forcibly moved to a new body every so often to keep her unaware of her status. But that's silly, of course, because someone else would have to be in on the whole thing. ...Or...?

"I have no clue, to be honest. I have tried to rationalize it. I do have memories as a child even and I have even known many other people at school for years." Tabitha replied "My hair grows as normal as I can tell, and I can eat food fine. I even bleed if I get hurt. I do have little memory of being hurt majorly though. Father keeps me out of sports mostly.. And I did notice recently where when I got stabbed I blacked out and nearly fainted, but I fought it and was able to get back up... I would bet it was to prevent me from finding out."

She sat thinking about it a while, "It would be nice if there were other cyborg slash android slash whatever I ams around. Even being able to talk about it is nice though." She takes a handful of jelly beans from a bowl in the middle of the room. "Playing Battlefield and such keeps my mind off things. I know it really is not very common. I just like the intensity. Not that Father would ever let me get a gun."

Nick sat and listened to what she said. He, too was curious about how she grew and exactly how much of her was human. He brushed these thoughts aside for the more important question.

"So what now? Are you going to join Stephanie's group, or what?"

Quinn tried to sound as nonchalant as possible. "Ah, I saw her at the store before we went to Papa Leo's. What group is this?"

"Well it seems like there are other people around the school that have special abilities and whatnot. Stephanie seems to be forming a group of them to investigate or stop the disappearances. I do not think I would join.. I am not that special anyway." The grandfather clock chimes 9 as she finishes. "Amazing it is still only Friday, the day seems to have gone forever. I do not know when you have to be back home or anything like that."

Stephanie called up Charlie on the phone
"Hey, if you're free later. You should come by the old shoe factory. Maybe we can work on things a bit."

IC: Charlie listened to what Stephanie said. "Yeah, I may be able to go. My parents usually let me walk around even later than this."

-it's ok, I hadn't been able to get anything really relevant for you.

"Good to know, see ya there." Stephanie replied back. She waited for him to arrive outside the old abandoned building. Along with her were a few others, the same heavy built Mexican guy, and the thin pale girl as well as the guy in the black hoodie (Joseph, Andrea and Joe p6)

As soon as Charlie showed up, Stephanie motions for him just as Joe picked the lock and lead them inside.

"This is where we do any kind of experimenting. It's isolated and the walls are all brick and concrete so it's been good for testing things out.. You said you could heat things up, but how much can you do?" Stephanie said picking up an iron pipe about 3 feet long. "Try that. If you can heat up things like that, it might be useful as a weapon."

Joseph waited at the door lifting some weights while he guarded it. By this time Andrea was nowhere to be seen and Joe was in the 2nd floor.

Charlie grabbed the pipe, and focused on heating the part above his hand, while keeping where his hand was cool. He over did it, and the pipe started to melt a bit. He quickly cooled the melting parts a bit.
