Easy, killer. It just struck me as kind of odd that you'd go to such lengths to proclaim me as a townie, but I'd be a liar if I said it didn't make sense given our relationship and chats outside of RV. What really DOESN'T make sense to me is this:

I found it kind of suspicious that you would pretty much from the get go defend lander as a townie. Makes me think you're holding out on some information the town could use.

He's explained himself thoroughly, and like I said, his explanation wouldn't make sense to most people. Kikori has told me time and again (and I've seen from experience) that he doesn't do well as scum nor would he ever voluntarily want to BE scum. This leads him to the conclusion that I couldn't have had a hand in the request because I would have known he would say no.

Basically I think you've got an unfounded vote there. :?:

Don't hate, appreciate.

@Lander, his explanation might make sense to you, but I don't buy it. My vote remains

Well, I'm starting to wonder about how the metagame is panning out. A jester, a mafia recruiter, and roles that are required to perform a night action? Right now, I think speculation about what Paidea has in store for us would be useful...aside from Kingmaker, I can't remember any required night roles, but I never played Legends Mafia. Anyone from those games have any input?

Aside from Kingmaker and the doctor / detective style variants, I've never heard of a "required" night action. Mafia night kills might be "required" to a host, but in all actuality, they're not necessary for a game. Some action-reaction roles like Suicide Bomber may be worth waiting for, but I don't think there are enough of those to consider it. Not to mention there isn't that much happening in the night.

Question, Discrimin8. If you understand what I say but don't buy the story, what responses can I give except that it's your choice to not believe me, and I believe that to be an OMGUS vote due to my actions toward your character in Lander's roleplay? I was given an offer to join the mafia, refused, and read into it enough that I personally believe Lander is a villager. Simple as that. :?:

As per the mafia talk on clan chat, I was there, too. I could make a vote based on knowing who was the one who said "You're dead, Rex" when a complaint was made about the length of time of the night. But that'd be using info from outside the game. ¬¬

You think Lander is a villager? I want to test that theory Lander

:) I am of the opinion that the two of you are both mafia, with this whole charade of a mafia recruiter invented.

Is there any proof, asides from what you have said, that this role even exists? I don't think I've seen any. As I said at the end of yesterday, the two of you working together could come up with something like it and, coming forward so early - under no pressure - with a method of seemingly making us forget about you two as possible mafia without actually roleclaiming yourself.

FoS Kikori.

LOL just realised my first mafia back and I'm picking on two of the more aggressive/leader (not sheep) players at once... smart move!

LONG POST INCOMING.

First thing: Since Kik said it here, I can use it here if it's true (I wasn't in CC), but if Discrimin8 knew who was dead before day start, there's only one way for that to happen...

Second up: Mafia nightkills are usually considered required.

Usually.

But that doesn't much help, especially if Paid is considering all roles 'required', which is plausible.

Anyway, kik/Land are either both town or both mafia. Outing themselves like that is too risky; I'm leaning towards town. Discrimin8 is hopefully about to die regardless, so I'm not bothering to vote for him. DC1 has been vvetted (c wut i did thar). I know I'm not mafia. That leaves:

TheAnimal
Scar
bluecoat
Topsummoner
PenguinGuy
Tahu1000
dr henry
Steely Mallon
Defeat
RipTide

Animal has been kinda spammy. I'm leaning towards a role, not sure which side. Pointed out that Riptide has been around to post D1, but didn't, which was helpful.

Scar is being normal Scar - almost too normal. I think he's OK, though.

bluecoat hasn't said very much, which is a bit unlike him. Either way, I don't have all that much to base much on with him yet.

Topsummoner was the first to point out the card thing, which is only used as a role distribution method in real-life games. I'll say something here that I kinda wanted to keep safe: I have a role. I'm not telling what presently. I had no mention of cards prior to reading the thread. I see theorizing about cards to be a useless distraction. Top has played enough to know this. I think he's scum.

PenguinGuy is being fairly normal.

Tahu 1000 is being unusually trusting of pretty much every major theory that goes on - the biggest bandwagoner in this game, which isn't his style. I think he's something, leaning towards scum.

dr henry is being fairly normal.

Defeat is being paranoid. This is good. He's the only one I'm sure is town on this list.

Stale is always hard for me to get a bead on, honestly. With 18 and a invited mafia, there are likely 4 or 5 starters. Two I'm sure of, two I'm not sure of, Stale I have no idea on. It's either Kik/land or my two suspects, personally. If there's still a mafia around, my current guess is Stale.

With all that out of the way, there's one more person:

I'm going with Riptide for tacitly going along with mentos's silencing claim. Who would do this? He wasn't silenced. Town would have a vested interest in speaking. Mafia, not so much. I know he said that he didn't see the link, but I don't buy it. It's too convenient. He knew the game was on; he got a role PM, also breaking that theory.

Also, Paid, I want blood since Discrimin8 just admitted to breaking a rule, especially since others were there.

I WANT BLOOD.

Of course there's no proof, Henry. The invitation wasn't made public. Hosts. Different styles. Different ways to describe night actions. For examples, muting is not always mentioned. Successful protections aren't always noted. Deaths aren't always made distinct between sources such as mafia, vigilante, and serial killer. :?: If you expect a failed mafia defection attempt to be public, then it serves to stand to reason that a successful mafia defection would be public. That's pretty much as big a no-no as mentioning there's a framer, given both scenarios would serve to cause a Detective to have to start from scratch. I believe I could therefore call your biggest point a Negative Proof Fallacy.

The only "smart move" you've made is keeping yourself safe by being suspect to lynch at any time due to how hard you'll be hit if you're proven wrong on either of your suspicions.

FoS Monk. You've been able to pretty much nail mafia before based on your early game research and comparisons, but your range is currently broad as hell. The only point I can agree on you with is Tahu's superb lack of questioning anyone on anything is a little unsettling. A little less important is the lack of "Yay, I'm not a mafia!"

Yea, sorry about the bit of inactivity. I planned to be a lot more active this game, but I was gone for the entirity of Day 2 and am now having trouble getting back into it. I'll be more active from now on though.

bluecoat.

I FoS'd him for it yesterday and am making good on it, now that mentos is out of the way. He voted for Dragon way to quickly when mentos claimed that weird "Ace of Spades" role. Someone like bluecoat, I'd expect him to be more analytical, or at least have the faintest eye of skepticism towards someone who pulled the antics mentos did the day before.

As for the lander/Kikori thing: That this is a front put on by the two of them seems way to complicated to be plausible. That one of them is mafia (Kikori as mafia making this up to convince the town he's a villager, gaining trust of a strong player in the meanwhile, or Kikori as a villager simply being wrong about the conclusion he's drawn about lander) is certainly possible. It's also very possible both are villagers. Either way, I don't think we're in a position to really tell. Yet, at least.

On that note, though, did anyone receive a recruitment offer last night?

Oh, I'm confident enough that Lander is a mafia to be willing to take that risk. By all means, kill me off if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

In the past I've gone through games using some logic, but also a large amount of gut instinct. As a vigilante I managed 5 mafia kills using it, as a detective I found 2 mafia using it.

In much the same way, my gut instinct is telling me that one, or both of you, is mafia. However, for reasons which I shall keep private for now, I'm not going to push for a lynch on Kikori, as several plausible theories in my mind tell me that it could be a bad move, so my vote stands for Lander.

My whole thing with not jumping on the Mentos train was the fact that I was waiting for a response from Paidea about the truth of his claim (chatting w/ Riptide).

That said.....WTF Riptide. Who does something like that. It's pretty sketchy going along w/ someone like that, unless you know something you aren't telling us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Riptide say he forgot about this topic? Then when he finnally made it back he denied having the conversation with mentos which indirectly led to mentos being lynched.
