So yeah, this is basically a prologue to the other Last Hope story that I write together with Topsummoner, though this one is meant to be readable as a stand-alone story as well. Don't expect me to update this too often though, I have a pretty busy schedule.
Prologue
“Rise and shine Ragnarok! Today’s the big day!”
“Ugh… I’ll be up in a minute mom!”
I was just about to go to sleep again, when our dog jumped on my bed and started barking into my ear. “Fine, I guess I’ll get out right now then.” I told it, crawling out from under my sheets, and into the bathroom. While I was brushing my teeth I looked at the mirror, looking at my reflection doing the same thing. I was reasonably well-build for a teen of the age of seventeen, my skin having a neat tan, and having rather nice greenish-blue eyes. For some odd reason no-one can explain, I was born with spiky, dark blue hair, while my mother –who’s named Orion, by the way- has brown hair that stays down no matter what how much hairspray she uses. It could be because of my father though, but I’m not sure since I’ve never actually met him, and Orion never wants to talk about him.
Anyway, after I finished brushing my teeth and getting dressed, I took our elevator down, where some egg and bacon was waiting for me. Since we usually are a bit more simple in the morning, I happily munched it down.
“Did you remember to take your stuff with you from your room?” Orion asked, after I finished my meal.
“Yeah yeah.” I replied, holding up a backpack that made various metallic sounds when I shook it.
“Ok then, we should go now.”
We went through our garage door, and I followed Orion into our hovercraft, which started with a nice buzzing sound as the anti-gravity kicked in. It’s nice living in a high-tech society, I thought. After a short flight through our city, we landed at a large library. “We need to pick up Itzal here, he was discussing to publish a book in here based on some research he did. Something our ancestors wrote, he said.” Orion explained, noting the surprised look on my face.
A little while later, a man with long black hair came out of the library, with a satisfied look on his face. “It’s done Orion, my book is on the racks now!” He said.
“Great, nice job Itzal. Hop on in, and we’ll get to work.” Orion replied, starting up the hovercraft again, and moments later, we again flew through the tall spherical buildings that made up my city. Damn I love flying.
Sometime later, we landed at the oldest building in town, an old church that had been modified to accommodate for scientific research to me done within. “Welcome to Lumina Labs, Ragnarok.” Itzal said, as the three of us walked in.
