Hey guys. This is a story I started working on recently. I'm basing it off english myth and legend, along with myths and legends from around the world. I'm only posting the first paragraph here, as I am hoping to actually make it to the end and have it published.


Journal of Myrddin

Curse thrice my mother for her dealings with the demons. Curse her plea for me. She has caused me great sorrow emenating from this plea. She was power hungry, I see that now. Her plea shows that in all clearness. Glad am I that the gods have struck her down with holy lightning. She wanted too much for me, and she paid the price. She died with great pain, I am told, as a skyrenching bolt of lightning came streaking out of a clear blue sky. It must have been sent by the gods, for how else could a bolt of lighting come from a clear sky? As she died, she was burning from within, flames pushing out her every orfice, as I have been told. A dramatic death, which I am sure that she loved heavily. She always was one for dramatics. Curse the old witch. The only thing worse than her was that her plea was fufilled, much to my sorrow. I have seen my great friend and loved one die in a moment, seen his wife and best friend cheating after his death without shame in the next. How I wish the plea had never become reality. My mother's plea for a child that would bear great power, power over all other men, along with the power to live for eternity. I am hoping that whosoever reads this, that if they themselves should have a curse similar to my own, shall perhaps learn something to help themselves. I have had many names throughout my life. But the name that I love the most is the name that I was given when I was born. My name is Myrddin.

awesome man your prose has a certain quickness that i really enjoy. keep it up. post the next chapter when you're ready.

That was only an early version. Most of what I've done with it is re-write what I posted here.
