We saw some great things from them last night, including their new-look running attack.

Jets are meh, as long as the ringmaster Rex Ryan is over there it's hard to say whether they will ever pose a threat to the Patriots or even the Bills and Dolphins. They seem to have upgraded their running attack tremendously, we'll have to see what happens.

The Bills are one of my favorite sleeper teams with that NASTY defense. This team will go exactly as far as EJ Manuel and Sammy Watkins can take them because they need some firepower on offense.

Giants play in a relatively soft division, their success will also hinge on Philly's downfall and Washington's (and Dallas') mediocrity. The Bills and Jets are nowhere near ready to unseat Tom Brady and the Pats but a wild card spot in a soft AFC isn't our of the question for either of them.

True enough. There are no standouts at QB as I said, but this is a relatively deep draft at the 'serviceable starter, maybe more' QB.

Rumors of Lions trading up for Sammy Watkins. I like this idea A LOT. Though I think Mike Evans would be the better fit, and perhaps even the better receiver of the two, there's a chance that neither of them are there at 10. So if you're Martin Mayhew, you might as well trade up for the better prospect and just go for it.

That's the thing Lander I know it's a pretty big risk if they Clowney but he has so much potential to be something great :/ Also idk... I feel that the Texans could get a good quarterback later down the draft... imo the quarterbacks this year look pretty ok stats wise, but I just got a gut feeling that none of them are going to produce much :l. Don't quote me on that tho

Yeah there are no Andrew Lucks in this draft, for sure. But who impacts a game more, a QB or a DE? Which do they need more? They have JJ Watt and a pretty good defense, their offense is abysmal. Especially now without mr. Facilitator, Matt Schuab. They could trade down with, say, the Lions, gain a 3rd round pick, and still get a QB.

I have vague hopes for Khalil Mack in the first round, hopefully pick up a decent QB in the second.

By 8th pick the 'best' QBs will be gone, so it will be a waste to get one then, when we could potentially get the 'best' in another position.

At least Cassel will do enough for us. We lost it in the defence last year, not offence. I personally like the fact that Peterson and Cassel will have another year to better their link-up and really get some points on the board.

TBH if the Lions took Mack or Anthony Barr I wouldn't be too upset. If the vikes got Mack that would be beast. I get what you're saying about the QBs in this draft. But Cassel is not the guy to carry you to the postseason, or even to a winning record. AP is all the vikings have, I think they are in full rebuild mode at this point after firing Leslie Frazier (warranted) and giving up on Christian Ponder (warranted).

The man is what, 31 years old, and still got 11.5 sacks last year? They were silly to let him go but it was probably for the best given the salary the Bears gave him.

Vikings will take a QB this draft, we just don't know who.

Was pretty saddened by the release of Jared Allen. Always had a lot of support for him and everything he did for us. Also just wish we would get a good enough QB to give us a shot.

ERMAGERD ITS LANDER!

N' yea I'm really excited about this off-season, a lot of big changes for my Texans after that abyssal 2-14 season (NEVER AGAIN PLZ). I'm still debating on who they're gonna pick up with the first pick of the draft, imo they should go with Jadeveon Clowney even if it's not what they need because a player like that REALLY doesn't come often.

As for Golden Tate, I don't like it because I'm partly a Seahawks (well really a Lynch) fan q_q, but in all honesty the lions pose a serious threat coming up this season.

How's your quarterback situation going? I haven't heard much outstanding things about Stafford

Stafford's stats from last year, an 'off' year:
TDs: 29
INT: 19
YDS: 4,650
RTG: 84.2

Stats from 2011, his best pro season:
Completion %:63.5
Yards: 5,038
TDs: 41
INTs: 16
QBR: 97.2

Stafford is the BEST QB that you have never heard of. He is a top ten, if not a top five QB. He just doesn't have the big wins. He is one of five (Six counting Peyton Manning) QBs ever to throw for over 5000 yards in a season. He is entrenched as the starter for now, picked #1 overall in 2009. But if he has one more down year, especially after the coaches we've brought in with QB experience, we could very well see a new face at QB in 2015.

You're a Texans fan? I was really confused at their implosion, never in my life had I seen such a talented team, an 11-5 playoff, division title winning team implode so quickly since the Peyton Manning neck fiasco in Indianapolis.

I know that feel. The Lions went 0-16 in 2008. I was there. I would be pissed if I were you, if you didn't pick a game breaking signal caller with the top pick. Clowney? The guy who took his last season off? Never spend the first overall pick on a person with character issues. That's why they win if they take Bortles, Bridgewater, or if they trade down.

We could have necroed the old topic...

Lions fan here, I hope we take Mike Evans, or perhaps trade down if that is not an option. I will Fuzzy Bunny my pants in rage if we take Justin Gilbert, who has been mocked to us a number of times. Tired of the front office trying to 'fix' the secondary with rookies and garbage bin castoffs.

I *LOVE* the Golden Tate signing, the Ravens safety signing is alright. Letting Delmas walk was necessary, but very sad. If only the guy could stay on the field he could be a top 5 safety.

As far as the new coaching staff goes, unimpressed with the Caldwell signing but he seems to have assembled an awesome staff (Joe Lombardi, former super-bowl winning QB coach in New Orleans with Drew Brees).

Lot of crazy stuff happening this offseason. Releases of guys like Damarcus Ware and Jared Allen tell us the league is not necessarily banking on proven veterans anymore.

Raiders are running some kind of circus franchise over there. They'll crash and burn like the 'dream team' Eagles from a few years back.
