I've seen every one of the movies in the theater, and to be honest...I thought they got progressively worse. In regards to the finale...ugh. I understand changing things from movie, but they've changed things that serve no purpose being changed. They had two movies with the last book, and still changed/left out way to much.

And yeah, the 30 year old scene at the end was pretty amusing.

What surprised me a little was how much older Neville looked in this film, than when he first started. Killa pointed this out earlier when we were talking about the movie.

Well he wore a fat suit for the previous 4 movies or something and only just got rid of it, so he would look very different

Although he did change quite a lot over the years, this is what he actually looks like

We should stop this.

It sort of amused me at the ending scene. They really made Neville look like he killed Voldemort, Harry pretty much did nothing except get chased. Rest of the movie was awesome though, especially the beginning, it did well to start for the end.

The only part that really bothered me in any way was the 19 years later make-up actually lol. I guess it must be hard to make someone appear to be in there mid-thirties lol, although I thought they did a rather good job on Harry.

I concur, Hermione didn't look changed at all.

I've seen quite a few people compaining that Voldy and Harry didn't use there trademark spells in the final moment of the fight when Voldy dies. I disagree, the energy from their wands was the same color as Avada Kedavra and Expeliarmus are normally so I think the audience was supposed to infer which spells those were based off of the color.

I think a lot of things were anticlimactic, not just the ending

Mainly because they just glossed over many things

Things I missed that really should have been in the movie:
  • Lupin mentioning his son was born and asking Harry to be the godfather
  • The scalding spell on the items in Bellatrix's vault
  • Fred's death scene
  • Harry's conversation with Dumbledore's portrait or at least the mending of Harry's own wand

And I'm probably forgetting some things

I do approve of Harry just destroying the wand at the end, I don't get why he didn't do that in the books (or did he? Was it indestructible in the books?)

And then there were the minor changes that weren't really necessary but didn't matter either way (e.g. how they changed the kind of dragon in Gringotts)

I agree with all of the things you say were missing- but for a casual viewer, who doesn't know the book to well, it wouldn't have bothered them. My boyfriend, who hasn't read the book, certainly didn't notice anything missing. I still thought it was awesome though- by far far far the best of the whole series. It took me a little while to get into it, but maybe that was because of the bratty kid kicking my seat at the start (why can't parents controll their children!!). Thoroughly enjoyed the second half though. Found myself getting emotional at certain points, and the sad parts were done very well. Can't wait to see it again.
Not very convinced by the '19 years later' make-up though :P

The fight scenes were a bit underwhelming between Harry and Voldemort compared to the large-scale fights in the castle, but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed the film :)

Looking forward to getting them all on DVD so i can have a marathon viewing!

Watched the movie opening night, because I couldn't get midnight tickets. Most of the film was done extraordinarily well, but I would've made a few changes at a couple scenes. Like when Harry goes to Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest, in the book he doesn't tell anyone where he's going because he know that this journey that he knows that he has to undertake alone. Another scene was Voldemorts death scene where I hope they would have both used their spells (Avada Kedavra and Expelliarmus).
