I suspect Steely just looks at the play count for his total albums.

Like Stale Steely mine is a bit skewed, I always seem to be reloading all my music ever couple of months for whatever reason. The Wuthering Heights (Cathy's Theme) tops my list at 15, but it looks to me like I've been playing Tom Waits' Closing Time and Dylan's Blood on the Tracks the most in recent times (both on 6).

iTunes keeps a play count for all of your songs. Album count I just sorta looked at play count, if all the songs had been played a minimum of some number, I'd say that's how many times the album had been played.

I've only had this computer for a couple of months, so it's a bit skewed, but the most played song is San Tropez by Pink Floyd at 150, followed by Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis at 146 and Comanche by the Revels at 141. I normally listen to complete albums, though, Pink Floyd's Meddle is #1 on that list at 17. Exile on Main Street by the Rolling Stones has 16 plays, and Dark Side of the Moon has 14.
