And that's just rock. Traditional pop and vocal pop, which were both still very popular in the 50s, were again focused primarily on songs of love.

But then the emo skinny jeans boy bands appeared in the mainstream and it became about love and heartbreak. And sex rap stayed in the mainstream. Kinda.

Except now there's also man-voiced girls singing about kissing another girl and liking it.

In rock, I think the 2000s will be remembered for their redundancy. Over and over songs had the same subjects: love and heartbreak. You can only take so much of the same thing, you know? That's why I've started getting into other bands like System of a Down, Lost Prophets, etc.

The fifties were more fixated on that than we can ever be.

They're on the cover of Rolling Stone this month. Being a fan of 1960s music, I die a little inside whenever I see them doing something pathetic like that. :(

Rolling Stone's editor is a former editor of FHM. For the supposed bastion of rockism it isn't very rocking anymore. :|

It's a Hip Hop magazine, with a lot of coverage of R&B and some pop too.

Ugh, Disney Stars. Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, High School Musical Cast... Ask any 8 year old what his favorite singer/band is, and there's a high chance he'll say the name of a disney star.

Gross.
