That being said, it is pretty saddening that the final arc of the manga won't be animated at all. From what we've seen so far it's been quite important in wrapping up some loose ends (as well as creating new ones) and is really important to the canon of pretty much everyone except Ichigo (whereas if you watch the Anime you get a pretty satisfying ending to Ichigo's story). I had the idea that they could just make the whole thing one final movie but I'm not sure if it'd work (though I'd love to see it).
Problem was the last arc of the anime once again felt too much like filler but couldn't be left out since it was so important to the plot. Since most Bleach watchers despise filler I'm pretty sure this is where they lost most of their viewers (and perhaps some readers) and the whole thing went kaput.

On-topic: The bleach anime (dubbed lol) is what got me into anime in the first place, so I guess there's some kind of sentimental value in it. I'd imagine it'll be back at some point, Bleach is too big and popular of a series for there not be some kind of anime about it.

I'd love to see the anime redone once the manga ends with strictly-canon events and no drawn out fights. But we'll have to wait and see on that.

This sucks.
There's some speculation that this may be a hiatus (probably 1 or 2 years long, because they don't feel like making any more fillers), and not a complete cancellation of the TV anime as the source indicates. No official word yet, but I really hope that is the case.
