Show is glorious. It moves a bit slow but it's still enjoyable. It wasn't until the last few episodes when this series practically stopped my heart.

Easily one of my favorites. Just wish I'd been told about it under better circumstances for Japan.

They based the series off of real simulations for the earthquake that occurred. Naturally, the real event happened further north, but the series still feels relevant.

The premise of the story is the 70% or higher possibility that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake will occur in Tokyo in the next 30 years. The story depicts what would happen if a 8.0 earthquake took place.

The story will center on Mirai, a middle school freshman girl who goes to Tokyo's artificial Odaiba Island for a robot exhibition with her brother Yuuki at the start of summer vacation. A powerful tremor emanates from an ocean trench, the famed Tokyo Tower and Rainbow Bridge crumble and fall, and the landscape of Tokyo changes in an instant. With the help of a motorcycle delivery woman named Mari who they meet on Odaiba, Mirai and Yuuki strive to head back to their Setagaya home in western Tokyo.

Air Date: 10.07.2009 - 18.09.2009
Episodes: 11
Categories: Drama, Tragedy, Disaster, Coming of Age
Director: Masaki Tachibana
Production: BONES

This series was recommended to me recently, watched it last night. It's an interesting series to watch right now (if you haven't already), considering the real life earthquake that occurred near Sendai, Japan. Obviously no anime series can function as a main source for comprehending real world problems, but this series does an exceptionally well job at giving some amount of perspective.
