Despite it being aired on a pretty childish network, I think its great. It has an excellent plot and great action sequences when it gets to element bending. Contrary to popular belief, many believe anime aired on networks such as Nickelodeon tend to be overly childish/tend to avoid character death. However Avatar seems to avoid that completely. Characters do die off (though later in the series) and though the showing of blood/wounding is limited, it isn't enough to throw off my liking for it.
Overview:
The world is composed of the four elements, and their respective nations. For years they have all lived in peace, until the nation of fire began a war to conquer every other nation as the "superior element." The Avatar, what keeps the nations balanced (with his power), is the only one who can actually master every element. Aang, a young air bender, was the avatar, however one thing led to another and he disappeared for 100 years. The anime begins with two water tribe kids finding him encased in an ice berg. The adventure of taking the avatar to master all four elements, to ultimately end the war, begins.Statistics: Posted by Dark Blade75 — September 23rd, 2007, 6:53 am
