It's been silent a while on this topic so I just started playing on my brother's server. I hope to be able to work on some guides in the coming weeks, but that's about it. I don't have the time/resources to host a server myself or I would. Would's and should's are nice and all though, but they don't accomplish much unfortunately.

I've still got MCAdmin back from 2010, unsure if it's the "best" way to host right now or not.
And if I understood right, Bluecoat was previously paying for a server Glode was managing on a separate system. If it was work on a spare computer, he could still maintain 24/7 coverage, but if it was actually remotely linking to the server from his own, he'd be restricted as well. Clarification be helpful there as well.
