Try giving them tons of resources? I've not played this particular one but that's the standard procedure in most other RTS games.

I'm playing a solo Standard Game with just myself and 7 AIs. I'd like to see if I can get one of the enemy players to temporarily be my ally. I know that if I set them to 'Ally' in my diplomacy settings, they will still consider me an enemy, leaving my units to stupidly stand there and get killed without retaliation. I remember that if I set my current ally to 'neutral' or 'enemy', they will go to neutral and soon to enemy. Is there a way to do the opposite, though?
If anyone remembers or can find a source that actually seems to have the answer (I tried Googling it already to no avail), that would be great. Thanks!
