I'm not saying you're immature Regulus, I think your post has proved that. I say "90%" because it seems accurate to me. Nine out of every ten sounds like a reasonable guess. One out of every ten being mature. I don't hate Runescape, or think it is not worth playing - ten percent is a lot out of millions of people playing.

Well, if that's what you believe, then that's fine; I'm just sharing my differing experiences with you. In the end, you could be right, maybe 90% is a close figure because I could've just been fortunate enough to meet more respectful people than disrespectful. In the end, I'm not willing to let the immature players ruin the game that I do enjoy due to the great players that make my experience that much more better.

what constitutes a failure IRL?

Not being able to read, or write, well, or not reading books that are above an elementary school level. Not cultivating an intelligent, healthy, and social life. Not attempting to challenge one's self, or others, to higher standards beyond point and click adventures. Not contributing to humanity, or one of the many noble causes that need people in order to succeed. Ignoring personal problems. Breeding hatred. Being stupid.

Failure in life is not in achieving greatness, it is failing to strive for it.

I may sound harsh, but I was fourteen when I played. If any old posts were left on this forum I could show you people who played RS classic were more mature, literate, cultured, and polite than Runescapers now. That in part is because stupid people are extremely easy to make money off of.

As for a source, whatda think this is, the debate forum? If someone doesn't realize 90% of Runescapers are immature, they are most likely immature.

So you're telling me that 90% of RS make up the aforementioned? Are you a soothsayer?

I agree with you there.

No, you don't sound harsh at all; you're coming off more disgruntled than anything else. I started on 03 so I've definitely experienced the old rs. Was the community better? Yes. Game play wise, was the game better? Eh, to each his own on that. Was the overall experience much better? Definitely. It's funny because I think that RSC's "crappy" graphics is what kept people from playing and with RS2, a new slue of players came in the game for the worst; if only people knew that RSC went beyond those "crappy" graphics. And I definitely don't disagree with you there because the RS classic players definitely were more mature, literate, cultured, and polite. To this day, you will still find these people and no, it's not a "miracle" that they exist. Maybe you've had too much negative experiences with the newer players?

No this is not a debate, I'm just questioning you. I could easily come up with a number at the top off my head but that still won't mean anything. I disagree with you that 90% of Runescapers are immature so I guess that makes me immature in your view and I'm fine with that. I just came back this past summer from 3-4 year hiatus. Most, if not all of my old friends that I've made back in RSC and in my earlier days of RV have moved on from the game; however, I've still made some great friends upon my return. There are still great people out there on RS and no they're not hard to find. Yes, you will encounter many idiots in the game but it's much easier to ignore them instead of getting worked up over nothing. Change is inevitable but it's not the extreme that you pointed out with 90% of RS players being immature.

The immensity of the crap I do not give is off the scale.

But basically this. Runescape is still going to put on the kid gloves that has ruined so much of the mystery and excitement of the game. Putting up a message that says "Caution - This is the Wilderness, where bah bah bah" removes the old fear and superstition that went into going into the dreaded wild. I understood this when I was fourteen - you'd just have to be stupid not to understand that you can lose stuff in the wild. It's not rocket science. There is no need for half of the "informative" messages/warnings that RS gives, basically so twelve year olds can play. Hell, younger than that - King Gimli was super mature when he was eleven here, way back in the day. *That* is who needs to play RS... but now 90% of RS is just people who fail IRL.

Protip: if you can't get a relationship or read a book, don't play an online game.

As for free trade... uh oh, it's better this way, but prepare for autoer hell.

*You in your fav spot chopping willows*
*Patch goes through*
*Thousands of autoers are now raping your favorite spot*
You: OH THE HUMANITY NOOO REVERSE PATCH STUPID PATCH FREE TRADE SUX SUX NOOOO

Then you'll know what it felt like to play Classic!
(Still <3 Classic better)
