I think that is right. Fore me, the last 9 years was really like 1.5 years because that is how many months i had membership, but that is more than enough to conclude how the game works.

Yeah, back when I used to play, it was 70% Quest Points and 25% Luck, and 5% skill.

I would count that since i know i have much more time in the cave with over 300 QP, but it's a pretty random minigame. Think i got 180 one of these weeks that i had members back.

Nope, but of course, the more QP you have, the longer time you get in the cavern, which is good news for you. There's no minimum or maximum.
