As for the backend and stuff updating daily, that's a little tougher. You'll either need to take advantage of someone's API that can let you gather information every time someone requests it (like how the Google/YouTube searches or Last.FM or weather queries work in our Discord channel) or you'll have to make your own database and start entering/storing whatever data you want to track. The difficulty of this probably varies quite a bit, depending on if the data you want is A) even available out there and B) readily available to be queried by developers.

Anything else I'm missing here? Not sure if there's another language I should look into?

Thanks,

I've been thinking of making my own website, but I'm not sure where to start. I've seen ads on YouTube that sell website development tools - i assume these offer various templated models that you can choose from? I also assume that you can't get overly creative with your website ideas as they may not fit in with the template?

I would like to, as a first step, create something like this - http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?id ... hone2=5251

As you can see, it's a tool to compare things with. To throw a curve ball into mix, the data I'd like to compare changes a day-to-day basis... Sorta like how sports standings change every day.

I don't have any knowledge in programming or computer science and I'm not sure how important this is in the grand scheme of things. I do know some basic HTML but not nearly enough to create anything respectable lol. I keep reading about JavaScript, back-end software and Sublime Text? Not sure what's relevant and what's not.

Thanks for any help and/or guidance on this!
