So tempting. I still haven't decided on my build. Cyber Monday is too close to worry.

Oh no you don't want this for your build, this is just a good APU, but terrible compared to a CPU and a discrete GPU :P

I think these are great processors for low budget builds, especially with the integrated chip being more than sufficient for games that don't require much in the way of horsepower. (LoL comes to mind)

I'm actually kind of tempted to do a relatively low budget, low profile build with one of these for LANing, since my rig is a monster to lug around, especially when I do it just about every weekend.

I've been looking on making a mini ITX out of this APU, just for that same reason. But I have to wait for motherboards to catch up and for PSU to get a tad smaller

and stick it into this beauty

Well whenever you have 600-1000 dollars, I could tell you what you would want :P

Performance is impressive compared to the last generation CPU's put out by AMD, especially the APU performance.

CPU performance in multi-thread (according to Anandtech) is still lacking compared to the i5 Intel alternatives, but that's to be expected. Single-thread, the A10 is beat by the dual-core i3-3220. I could see myself using this in an HTPC build but a 100W tdp is a little high, especially for only 1080p content. They are good, cheap choices for budget gaming builds absolutely killing the HD4000, especially since you still have the chance to add a discrete GPU down the road.

You can also Crossfire the integraded GPU with a discrete GPU for better performance.
The A10 is great for a microbuild, if you don't have enough space in your home nor enough money in your wallet. As you say it is beat by the i3-3220, but it's actually so minimal, you won't notice the difference. I would say with this CPU its as if having an i3-3220 and 6850HD (mid tier CPU and GPU) in one. So that's why price vs performance for this APU is really really good.

Have you seen this?
Has anyone seen this?
AMD actually doing something with their APU line

AMD A10-5800K performance wise kicks anything in Intel's APU (which are still stuck with the Intel 4000HD graphics) arsenal and an Intel CPU of i3-3220 and a 550ti

Quad Core 3.8GHz, Turbo to 4.2GHz
The only offset I see to this APU is the integrated Radeon 7660D memory. But that could easily be upset by a DDR3-1866MHz 8GB Ram.

This is probably the budgetiest gaming rig you can buy that could run many current games at medium setting for 50 fps, if your budget is less than 600, hell even less than 500... you can go with this machine and be happy for the next couple of years...

So thoughts on AMD Trinity?
