Anyway, the ethical issues may seem obvious, but ultimately it just comes down to people's visceral reaction to a clinically dead chicken being grown for meat. This is really just a different scale of projects where meat is grown in a petri dish.
Regardless, it's doubtful that something like this could be implemented, as it'd be nigh-unworkable in practice, due to the entirely inevitable physical development problems that Penguinguy already pointed out. "Poor" doesn't begin to describe the quality of meat that would come from this, and any means to compensate for it would assuredly make the entire process horribly inefficient and expensive.
