Times are rough for a DJ, though. Especially in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. We have the 3rd largest market in the country, and a few months ago they took away our "alternative" rock station. It's alllll pop now. No rock and/or roll in Chicago?!? FML.

Defeat do you do any Djing? I've recently gotten into mixing and I'm always curious to hear from other people about it.

Blackmage - also curious about your stuff as well!

I love driving so I really enjoy the work. It's 8:30-1:30 mon-sat so I'll be able to start taking classes and continue working. Minimum wage isn't going to cut it because I really want to get my own place despite how expensive it is in southern california, but Machinima has room for another editor and they want me to fill it, only I don't have any means of transportation yet -_-

Soon though!

Basically it's like getting A-Levels whilst you work. All based around Maths and English, but applied to what goes into running the store.
I work shift work, which changed on a day to day basis. I have an early tomorrow, then a late on Wednesday, then a day on Thursday. I guess I like my job, especially since the promotion, but it does come with it's downfalls, like with all jobs that involve the public. I have had things thrown at me, called every name under the sun, even threats to my life... (funny story). Apart from those jackasses, the general atmosphere is great. I enjoy working with people, and I enjoy working in a customer driven environment. The people are good, and you can always have a laugh with anybody, just have to try hard enough. I regularly have the Business Manager threaten to headbutt me. Actually happened at the last meeting...

It's really more frustrating dealing with customers that don't speak English, half of them don't know where they are + have no idea how to say / spell the street name that they're on. I have to hang up on some of them it gets so bad. Working at Best Buy is pretty easy and fun, today for the first 30 minutes of our shift the entire staff played word arranging games and everyone was getting super into it. It was hilarious.

I'm a street pharmacist dealing in street pharmaceuticals.

On the weekends I work as a call taker at a local cab company, I talk to drunk customers all night and send them taxis.

and lastly I've recently acquired a job at Best Buy for seasonal, I work in the gaming department.

I've been working at a radio station as a DJ and audio engineer for about two years. It started as just a fun thing to do with some friends, but recently I've gotten pretty serious about it and want to see where audio production could take me. One of my professors is pushing me into checking out NPR or BBC when I graduate, and I'm seriously considering it.

Have held lots of jobs before this though such as 3 years working at the kiosk in a mental hospital which was interesting.

I always used to do a summer job to pay my uni fees whichi ranged from factory work (I made bolts :D ) to working on wheat bins in rural WA and other fun things.
