sadly true, that the private sector- which has the best chance of operating efficiently- has no interest in space exploration, and government- which is the most likely to do it *at all*- doesn't make it a priority.
i've always thought space exploration was like education, and you should invest in those futures. it's almost a moral obligation.
you really have to research, though, to find out why these wacky science people are interested in it at all. they need public relations and advertising in their budget NASA has a video game on their site, that's a start.
