I would have thought Chrome would be much higher and IE to be a lot lower.

Chrome is growing faster than any other browser, and IE is dying faster than any of the others, so that's probably why you thought that. :awesome:

Microsoft's browser market share is falling all the time, with Safari and Opera now the only browsers holding less. From January to August of 2011 they lost 4.2% (out of total, 100% market share) market share, losing 32.4%, more than half, since January 2008. Less than one quarter of internet users now use any version of IE.

Where are you getting that information? Yeah, IE's numbers are falling fast, but they're still well above one quarter market share, and they are still number one. But that probably won't be the case by this time next year.

Microsoft claimed they were committed to improving standards compliance and HTML5 support. However, they are still lagging behind. As far as the IE10 beta version goes at least.

Going by html5test.com, IE10 scores nearly double when compared to IE9, however, it doesn't even touch Chrome, lagging over 40 points behind.

Why does it seem Microsoft isn't even trying? When will they step up their game?
