Anywho... It's a nice gig. I know the new guys usually got stuck with the grunt work on the staff. Carrying hoses and other fun activities. I can't speak to a direct knowledge of how all volunteer firefighting departments work. Are they going to send you through an Academy? Have you already graduated? If you want to stick with being a Firefighter, go get your EMT-B license. It makes you significantly more employable when the full time departments are looking.
Speaking of which, what does your department cover? Just fire or do they go fire & rescue? What kind of equipment do you guys carry?Statistics: Posted by Frank 4.0.1 — October 1st, 2011, 4:31 pm
