Hmm, I was talking about this with my friend yesterday, with investing and stocks and whatnot. I was considering of going for it but he said it is like a gamble.

And you just assumed you paid money in and it would guarantee you a profit? Don't you think everyone would do it if that were the case?

My Dad used to have a look of shares in different companies and we always used to have to watch the share pages on TV to see what was moving up and down!

I found that the market is actually pretty simple to read and invest in, whereas before I found them kind of daunting. I invested in Toyota and in exxon mobile, I believe, which kind of hovered around the same. I then invested the rest of my money in penny stocks, which is risky, but if the company actually takes off you can make a TON of money. This was in 2006-2007.

I have every intention of investing once I have some extra money.

I was just checking to see how many of you invest in the stock market. I know Sah invested and was apparently quite successful at it, but he's not around anymore.. I am also wondering if anyone knows a site that could tell me how the S&P500 was doing overnight and if anyone has any tips for a beginner investor like me.

I started trading in May and I find it extremely fun to play, i recommend everyone put some money aside or save until you have a tidy little sum and start trading. The market is quite volatile these days, fluctuations up and down can make you uneasy, but if you develop a system and stick with it, it really helps.

Anyways, just checking :D
