Thats the way it should be :D for there to be any kind of activity.

Then we'll get people crying that the sticky is worthless, takes up space, there's too many stickies, etc. There's no pleasing some people ya know.

If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. Big deal. What harm does it do to anyone really? None. Geez.

Can someone please provide an argument for this forum that is;

a) Different from the ones provided the last time it failed
b) Convincing?

The only close-to reasonable argument provided is that when once in a blue moon a topic about fitness is created, it gets some quick posts. Sounds good. So why is a usergroup necessary when it seems everything that you want it to achieve could be achieved by a simple sticky in General chat?

It's just the same story over and over again. One or two discussions are had about a subject, and suddenly people want a whole new forum about it. Hell, I would be surprised if a single thread wouldn't be able to cover what you need.

Call me crazy, but I thought usergroups or 'sub-forum's were only created and deemed necessary when a forums, whose general scope covered the specific subject area, became unnecessary and frustratingly clustered with threads about the subject. How is that the case here?

Pass.

Lets leave it up to the Administrators, they will read all our opinions and make a decision out of it.

More opinions welcomed.

No opinions are welcomed in this thread. Anything other than "Yeah, it'll be awesome to talk about Fitness" is instantly shot down.

And it was up to the Admins from the beginning, my friend.

Your turning this into an arguement, more than stating your opinion. And yes, they are instantly shot down, because we want the forum...Isnt that the purpose of this thread?. When you were little, If you wanted something from your parents, everytime they give a reason why not, dont you counter it to get it? I do want to hear both sides of the opinions so Administrators can make a decision of it.

Which is a waste of time.

A single, dead topic in General Chat isn't enough to justify a whole new usergroup...especially when we aren't making them anymore. :-s
And that's what we call 'opinion'. That's simply what you think, many think otherwise.

And that's also what we call opinion.

Thank you, for a more thought-out post than mine (Stupid stress), from what i have read, a usergroup has 3 warning and they are out (3 Strikes), when there is no activity for a week they receive a warning. If approved we need the right amount of momentum :) and we should get going nicely. Plus when was the last forum added? They seem to be doing well.

There is not a single Fitness/Nutrition topic in the first page of general chat right now...why bother making another forum? I could see the reasoning behind it if general chat was flooded with these topics...but it isn't.

This would be like me asking for a usergroup about writing utensils. EVERYBODY uses them, right? So who cares if there aren't any topics in general chat about them, if someone sees a forum called "Writing Utensil Discussion", they'll for sure be like "oooohh, I know some damn fine pencil manufacturers."
Saying people will post in a forum purely because it is there when there is not a single topic on the first page of General Chat is really not a reliable reason for the creation of a forum.

Also, we apparently don't make usergroups anymore unless 98% of the village cries about wanting one, so yeah. I wouldn't hold your breath on this one.

EDIT: Correction, there is one near the bottom of the page that seems to have been active for a while then died out. Which is more than likely what would happen with this usergroup if it were made.

If you look in that thread, its actual questions on Fitness, and there are a variety of posters. Also, we havent made anymore usergroups, doesnt mean we dont make them anymore.
