Err... I must be missing something here... You sell an item on eBay, ship it to whoever bought it, then PayPal the money to Hiker once the buyer sends you the money. What's the problem with that?

No problem at all.

Sarah wrote:

it would involve the exhange of adresses, which is a bit dodgy on a site meant for teenagers, if it went wrong then hiker doesn't want that trouble on his doorstep.

Try to think of how we could get around Hiker being responsible. First of all, while there are a lot of teenagers, we aren't ALL teenagers. My mother let me use Ebay all the time when I was a teenager. That's just me and like millions of other teenagers. I haven't heard of any 'ebay' stalkers as you don't give a profile, picture, and all your hangout locations. That's myspace.

That's an easily solved problem, sarah.

If hiker really sees Ebay as threat to the safety of members, the new frontier for child abusers( :-s ), then I have a solution. A trusted member of RV could be the shipping middle-man. A teenager with consent, or someone who is older than 18.

Let's think positively. :D

I read your topic. It seems as RV is desperate for money. I had an idea that may work to raise some funds.

What if we had a RV "Yard Sale". People could sell anything to RVers on here, or donate their junk to be sold on ebay. They would then forfeit all money over to RV. I have several old xbox games, a car CD player. Idk... it sounds a bit weird... but I actually think it could work. Maaybe not.

Maybe it's just to much work and thinking. I just figure if I could sell 3 xbox games for 5 bucks each... and a cd player for 35.. then it might be worth it. I'm SURE others have some junk they dont need that could be sold.

If this caught on... I would be willing to help organise this.

"I might actually buy that :D"
Does depend which games they are though

Edit: Nevermind. Someone in this household agreed months ago to take over paying our bills and then didn't, so now I have an even greater crater of debt to climb out of. Sorry.

I do like it, but it's more of a problem that we can't spend money on anything online than the problem that we can't/aren't allowed to donate.

In my plan you wouldn't have to. You would donate whatever useless junk you might have, sell it on ebay, and make the payments on ebay available to hiker's paypal. That way.. all you would have to do is go to the post office, pay .50-2 dollars.. and ship it off!!!

The funds have been returned to your account.

This payment was returned for the following reason(s):

hiker@hikercentral.net did not sign up for a PayPal account or did not complete the registration process.

That's what happened to me the first time. Then I just did it through PayPal's main site to the right email address and it worked fine.

i think it's a problem at PayPal... i just tried it, using the 'donate' button, and it let me in....

i've had lot of trouble lately just trying to log into paypal... lots of code errors...

keep trying for a bit if you don't mind... and be sure you have your browser set to accept cookies... when it's giving me problems i just have to keep trying....

thanks!
