Looking at it now, Halley, what exactly is outdated about our current guide? The only part I can spot is the former Chat Boxes, but that doesn't warrant a rewrite.

Unless a portion of the quest has been updated, the most you'd need to do would be to update the several images, then PM them to Glodenox.

I'm hardly changing the written section, just adding new items to it and possible modes of transport (many of which were not in the game at the time of the guide's writing).
We also needed to update the chat boxes and the map (which has changed in both locations). Oh, and the dig centre has changed, so I will add new pictures from there.

Donut, feel free to move this to the Submissions and corrections. I only moved it here because I thought I'd get some help. No point having it here now, it's just stopping you let other people do useful rewrites. I'll do this in my own time, it's not urgent and I have most of it done already.

Thanks.

Hmmm. Are you going to post this in steps (1., 2., 3., etc.)? I don't understand the current layout. ^_^;

Remember, you can use some images from the outdated guide (here)as long as the images themselves aren't outdated also.

Oh, yeh the bold bits are notes to myself that I need to add something there.

The rest is in chronological order.

Oh, right on.

So, do you plan on finishing this? After you're finished we can all jump in and improve whatever necessary. I'd help you write the guide itself, but I finished the quest awhile ago. ^_^;

Let me know if I can get you any pictures or anything.

Quest Length: Medium
Difficulty: Medium

Start Point: Speak to the Golem, found in the The Ruins of Uzer, in the desert East of the Shantay Pass.

Minimum requirements:
  • Level 20 Crafting
  • Level 25 Thieving

Members Only: Yes

Required Items:
2 Shantay Passes, 4 Soft Clay (Clay + Water)*, 1 Pestle and Mortar, 1 Empty Vial, 1 Papyrus (purchased from Ardougne, Shilo village, Ali Morissane, etc.), approximately 5 Water Skins (4)**

* You can take a Bracelet of Clay and a Pickaxe with you instead.
** Wearing a charged Enchanted Water Tiara (from the Dealing with Scabaras quest) will remove the need for Water Skins

Recommended Items:
2 Varrock teleports, (or 1 Varrock teleport and a Digsite Pendant), Energy Potions, and Desert Robes.

Note: This quest contains no combat, so armour is not needed.

Getting Started:

  • Withdraw: 3 Water Skins (or Enchanted Water Tiara); a Varrock teleport; 4 Wet pieces of Clay (or Pickaxe and Bracelet of Clay); your Desert Robes and 1 Shantay Pass.
  • Head through Shantay's Pass and then South-East towards the bridge over the River Elid, shown on the map below.

  • If you have the Wet Clay, go directly to the Ruins of Uzer, following the blue track on the map. If you don't have the clay, head North-East along the orange track and mine yourself 4 pieces of clay, which, when wearing a Bracelet of Clay, will be Wet Clay, before going to the town.
  • When you reach the Ruins, you will see the Broken Clay Golem in the center of the town. Talk to him and he won't be making much sense. Use all 4 pieces of clay on him to fix him.
  • Talk to him again and he will be slightly more forthcoming.

  • To the East of the Golem is a staircase, go down it and pick 1 Black Mushroom. DO NOT EAT IT. This will be needed later in the quest.

  • To the West of the Golem a Letter is on the floor; pick it up and read it.

  • Make your way to the Digsite, East of Varrock.

  • In the North-East corner you will find Elissa, the girl mentioned in the letter. Speak to her.
