oh alright then
I had no idea something like this existed before but if there is a high chance that it is going to be inactive as you described then we can forget about the idea . I just wanted to know your opinions .

I also thought it would just be a cool rank to have for the artists amongst us
but of course no artist needs a rank to be respected by the community.

Actually, we used to have a group exactly as you described. It was a place where really good artists just hung out. When I became board moderator, it was there but very inactive. The forum was then deemed as a waste of forum space. I'm not quite sure how different this group would be from that. It sort of sounds like graphic discussions and tutorials except that is out for the open.

If artists are willing to help RV with images and pieces of art, then they could join the team for RV2.0 which needs graphics artists. Not to mention that you don't need to be part of an official usergroup to contribute to the upkeep of RV.

That all said, I don't particularly like the idea of firewalling the 'elite' artists in a hidden forum. Not only are our public graphics forum not in top shape, but the idea, even if we did have a surfeit of artists, isn't one I'm too keen on.

But I can imagine a group of elite artists working together for pictures for the site or events or the villager
and each time we need cool pictures, it could be requested to this team, right?
+ does every usergroup have to have it's own forum?

Plus, the not-so-artistically elite (like myself) would not be able to view you guys' wonderful creations, unless you posted them into the public .

This would be an excellent idea if we had more activity among our graphically inclined users, but all in all, we don't.

Our current activity in the Graphics Forum is quite bleak, and if this Usergroup was to be created I could only imagine it slipping into inactivity within the first week.

Hm, we've had a couple of these happen. There was a pixel artist usergroup, and The Drawing Board was one too (I was a member of both). Both have died, obviously, but mostly because the leaders were inactive or something.

I personally think this is a good idea for a usergroup, but I believe a restriction has been made. Usergroups must be RuneScape related (something I personally disagree with, but meh).

I'll keep this topic open incase an admin would like to respond.

I see so many great artists (Arts) in RV and I don't know if it's a good idea to do this...

A new user group called: The Artistically Elite (similar to "The Technically Elite")

I don't know if a new private forum should be added, but I do think good artists could be rewarded by entering them in this user group. They could apply by sending some of their works and being voted by public and some judges.

I haven't thought of this a lot, but just wanted to post it before forgetting the idea

So what do you think? Is it a good idea or complete rubbish?
