Goodness me, I haven't done a good RP in a few years. I could try this out, but first I need some things cleared up:

FMA is also at fault for this, but how can a seemingly steampunk world have auto-mail that is so widely available, and not basic things like cars, planes, etc?

Also, an Elixir of Immortality usually involves the Philosopher's Stone, and if creating a Philosopher's Stone takes anything like it did in FMA, that involves killing a lot 'o' people. (I can totally make a character that has no qualms with mass murder.)

Never said that the "auto-mail" is widely available. It is available, but costs a good deal of money to aquire.

And as for the Philosopher's Stone, I usually prefer to think of our world's version of it, which requires a few hard to get base ingredients, none of which involve the sacrifice of human lives.
(Believe me. A few months back I was doing a large amount of research on traditional alchemy and the Philosopher's Stone. I was inspired by FMA to do the research, even though I knew traditional alchemy was nothing like FMA alchemy. Still have all of my notes and papers that I was reading to learn more from.)

So as not to spoil the RP before it is started, I'm not going to state what ingredients are required for my "Immortality Elixer." However soon after it starts, you will find out the ingredients.

Check out the Tread the Path at Dusk topic to get a general idea. We're hurting for activity, and the only way to learn is to jump in!

As for character creation, its pretty much anything you can envision in a steam/clockwork world. As long as it is not too overpowered. The way I did it, try to make your character have a flaw or two, as nobody is perfect.

As for what it entails, there is fighting, exploring, and traveling.

Hidden:
Act One involves fighting unorganized enemies. Act Two and any thereafter involve fighting an organized enemy.

EDIT: Minor detail. Bullets are pretty much standardized, so any bullet fits any gun.

This. So me, Lander, and Rat make 3. 2 more people to go.

OOC: Hey all. Gonna have another try at running an RP. This one just popped into my head earlier, and I started planning it out. Already have two acts somewhat planned out. As for character creation, just follow the background beneath this to make a character that fits. I need a small group to run this, so I don't know how well this will do.

Background:
Technically, its the future of our world. We have receded back into a dark age, though more closely related to the early Renaissance. There are some more advanced technologies, such as replacement limbs made of metal, fully controllable by the wearer (Think FMA).
People have gone back toward believing in alchemy, and with what we consider modern science have achieved making “potions” that can “transmute” things, like iron into something similar to steel (Though no gold transmutation...yet). Along with other types of potions, of course.
There are still what we would consider modern scientists, though they are few in number. Weaponry is closer to Renaissance period, though with the occasional modern weapon. Also in use is clockwork weaponry (Think Fable 2).
Planes still fly, though it is very rare to see one in use. There are more common dirigibles. Satellite uplink is nearly non-existant, as the last places to still be able to use them are hidden by various governments.

Bio: Nicholas Sylvestris:
5‘3“
Aged(50-ish) alchemist, whom seeks immortality, to avoid the fate of his ancestors.
Wears a brown trenchcoat, along with a dress shirt and vest. Also wears dress pants and shoes. Wears glasses that turn to shades in the sunlight.
Brown hair, brown eyes.
Left leg is metal, lost the real one in an explosion many years before.
I'm keeping a few things about Nick a secret, though they will be revealed.

As for how to join in, just make a character, and Nick will contact your character in this thread.

Edit: I know that this probably won't get many people to join right now, as it is just about christmas time.
One of my friends is now helping me to more develop the world, though for this adventure I have the main plot points already set out.
Me, my friend, and maybe my brother are going to try to do an rpg style run-through of it, so we'll see how it goes. I just want to run it on here as well to get the input of other people.
