EDIT: Screw it; I just decided to lump everything into a new thread: viewtopic.php?f=118&t=438509

I can always have it merged at a later date anyway.

I might be interested in learning if you guys don't mind someone that knows next to nothing about d&d.

We still need at least one more committed player though (Blue said he'd roll up a character, but that he probably won't be in regularly).

Once I get all of the player reference material together and start refining the plot intro, I'll post a new thread for the campaign.

And Ead, I remembered more of the pertinent stuff for the current campaign if you decide you want to know it. I could also send along some of the ideas I've had for locations as well, as well as the specifics for how I treat dimensions.

The way I see it, we have a couple of choices: we can continue what's left of this current campaign as is, start a new one in roughly the same setting, or just start a new campaign entirely. Of the latter two, I'd prefer to just scrap the current setting and make a new campaign entirely, as I'm really just working with the bare bones of information here, and without the current plot there isn't much to recommend it.

So it's really down to continuing what we're on, or making a new campaign with a couple of different available options. If we go the route of a new campaign, and you want to keep your current characters, that's fine with me, but you should probably expect to have them nerfed back down to around level 1.

So, players, I leave the decision up to you. Also, FYI, I strongly prefer to have at least four players in a group. I can't remember everyone's damned contact info via skype, but I'm sure Kik can drop everyone a line if nobody posts in here within the next day or so.

Consider yourself promoted. I'm guessing you'll probably want to contact him for his DM notes if you feel like continuing the campaign that we're still supposedly in...

Kio, my first Paladin, was essentially a completely customized race.
Astram, as you recall, can Intimidate foes and jump into their memories. By the book, not possible.

We've had about as many chances to roleplay our Fuzzy Bunny as we have had to hack and slash through it. Problem is most of the time we only have hack and slash characters. This is why I think those races from the later books (Thief Rogue instead of Scoundrel, Slayer Fighter instead of Weaponmaster) should be what we use: their mechanics seem different in that they seem heavier on roleplay and their combat options are simple.

Seriously, no Fuzzy Bunny alchemy?! This edition is pretty much just a combat simulator, isn't it? I'm starting to think Pathfinder may have been a better choice...

I've also been reading the DM guides, which gave me the impression that WotC started dumbing a lot of things down (I don't know how I didn't figure that one out sooner), did some research, and the phrase "streamlined DMing" came up. Yeah, that's fine if you're a 14 year old who's still trying to figure the game out, but now it's becoming apparent to me that seasoned DMs are essentially obligated to cough up a heaping pile of house rules for any team that isn't a pack of incompetent zombies. UNACCEPTABLE! THIS IS NOT VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

So, yeah. Not dying to jump back into the campaign at the moment.

Wereboar type creatures that had spent a few thousand years in hell and now have returned (likely due to our intervention). Except we all seem to be trapped within a single area; there's a triangle of pillars that serve as a "loop" of sorts, bringing us back to the glade we returned home to.

We have broken one of three of these pillars, and were interrupted in our quest for the second by said creatures. Rinse and repeat until you're caught up.
