With the release of Runescape 2 receding into history and the turmoil of the change subsiding, a very new market has emerged. All the rules have changed, and the corresponding markets have been up in the air. Everything now seems to be settling out, and becoming slightly more predictable. Hence the purpose of this article, to tell you what’s a good market to jump in to, and the not so good markets. Magic Amazing enough, runes are still a fairly viable market. The advent of Rune crafting has certainly lowered the prices a bit, but the new experience system has compensated. The most common example of this is nature runes. They can be made sure, but their real use is in high alching. The new exp system for magic makes all of the combat spells give exp based on their level and how high the spell you cast hit against the monster, and then the monsters level factors in. This complex formula makes it a hit or miss venture trying to train magic in combat. However, when you high alchemy an object, the experience is a fixed value. This makes nature runes very valuable to mages trying to raise their level, as they can know exactly how many natures they need to buy. My advice is to get that Rune crafting up, and start making natures! Rares The market as a whole seems just as good as it ever was. However, the internal balance is changing drastically. Party hats, once the crown jewel of merchants everywhere, are in steep decline. It is my personal opinion that this in directly related to how horrible the hats look when you wear them. This decline might never have happened if the duping scam had never occurred. In a market already distrusting of itself, duping spelled the end of party hats. The rs2 change simply drove the final stake through the proverbial heart of the party hat market. Very fortunately, Halloween masks are rising in price to fill the void left by the fall of party hats. My Advice, grab the masks, before they’re gone! Armor By now it is fairly obvious that rune is near worthless to pkers. The fact that it gives negative magic defense, thereby enabling mages to hit high then the max for a spell, makes it very undesirable to pkers. Of course, this is only for pkers, so the rest of us can happily hold on to our rune and use it just like before, just as long as we don’t fight any creatures that use magic. I hope this report helps you out, and possibly
aids you in making a little bit more money then you used to. I am
hoping this column can become a feature of the Villager, to be released
whenever Jagex releases an economy changing update.
