Alpr Slayer Interview

1. What is better, "losing" to Ohsfootball in the race OR seeing his face when you get an Abyssal Whip?

I am tired of repeating myself of this. We *never* raced each other. We were more of just "partners." I slacked getting 82 slayer so I let him get ahead. I tried to stay ahead of him but then again I really didn't put forth an 100% effect Wink Since I have in my sig that I'm going for 99 slayer, Ohsfootball asked me a few days ago that he'll continue with me, ONLY because I am putting it as my future goal. I know he doesn't want to get it but like me, he has nothing else to train after we acheived 85 slayer.
I already knew Ohs would get the whip first. He got the addy boots first, granite maul first, and rune boots first. Only thing I got first was Mystic Red\Black Top. Besides, we're getting the same drops everyday, so it doesn't matter.

2. What armour and weapons do you take when you go Slaying ?

Well, in the beginning I never wanted donations, but what Muscular Ape started turned into a donation free-for-all, which got me to buying my own whip and also Full Torag Armor. I use that and my newly dragon shield (from demons) along with rune boots, cooking gauntlets, glory ammy, legends cape, and ring of wealth. Otherwise I'd use crystal shield.

Most of my tasks involved range. An example of this is my range lvl. It is about 200k to 91 (640k at start). I was lvl 55 range up until 55 slayer, where I could use the very cheap broad arrows (when they were 6gp each) and used them up. Donations came in and I started getting lots of mith arrows, until they became my primary arrows (broad arrows were changed). After hesitating, I bought a cannon to speed slayer up, and the cannonballs were a big waste on money, but it did make lots more slayer xp than if I never used a cannon.

3. You have many other higher skills on Runescape but do you think Slayer was the hardest to get?

Definitely. Slayer is *the* hardest skill to train. Some people say prayer, but hey..when I get rich, I'm going to BUY 99 prayer. Not hard, right? Some say herblore is hard. All you gotta do is be rich and BAM! You can get 99 herblore with money.

Skills that can't be *bought,* such as woodcutting, fishing, etc. are the true skills that take a while to get 99; Slayer being the hardest. If you have no-life while training slayer, you can get only a maximum of 100k a day (as in, stay up all night). Even Melee Stats are faster! I just went from 88 attack to 89 attack in TWO days at Abyssal Demons. Fast, eh?

Other 85 slayers' that are rich and buying 99 skills will most probably agree with me. Slayer is no easy task to train, especially with school and curfew for bedtime.

4. Slayer dramatically affects your Combat Level , are you overjoyed you decided to achieve 85 Slayer?

When Slayer Came out, I was a measly lvl 85 combat. What lvl am I now? I'll get 108 combat tonight (145k to 85 def). I HATED training combat when I was lvl 85. I found that I no longer liked to train it because it took so long, but slayer changed that.

By Level 60 Slayer, I was already in the 95+ combat (93 maybe. I can't check my topic to get exact lvl).

By 70 Slayer, I was lvl 99. I would be higher in combat if most of my assignments didn't involve ranged (or else I'd surely be 110+)

By 75 Slayer, I was lvl 101 combat, and again I would be higher if I hadn't train range. By 80 Slayer, I was around lvl 104. I didn't gain much here because I ranged all my assignments (I melee'd whenever I could).

Finally, by 85 slayer I was lvl 107. I was glad that I gained so many combat lvls and also ranged. I went from 55 Range to 90 Range through Slayer. I have seen Ohsfootballs' pictures of him being the high 80s range when he got 75 slayer, and now he is lvl 97 range.

5. Who's better and gets more luck with Slayer drops etc; You or OHSfootball?

Him- 2 whips, 2 half shield
Me- D Med, D Skirt, Half Shield, 3 whips

Right now, I am getting better drops

Thanks for your time Alpr!
