Halloween
in RuneScape?
RuneScape has come quite a distance in Halloween drops for the
holiday. It started out with the pumpkin, of course, moving onto the Halloween
Masks (which probably had the most unique way of dropping), and then the scythes,
which were repeated on November 2nd due to the fact that only a minority of people
got them on October 1st.
In 2004, things were different. Jagex had no traditional Halloween drop. However,
they did have a nice new set up for the load screen, but that was hardly acceptable
for users. We wanted items. Holiday drops have changed gears. In fact, they aren't
even "drops" any longer. Now it is made so that everyone has a chance to get an
item. Normally they will keep a temporary NPC out for a week, give or take, and
you simply do a mission for that NPC. Whether it be talking to them for a long
time or passing around eggs. So if there is a drop this Halloween, it will perhaps
follow those standards.
But will there be a drop? There are a few rumors going around for this Halloween.
A few of them include having the regular standards in previous holidays, to even
going as far as temporarily decorating RuneScape with spider webs and other accessories
that give off the Halloween spirit. This month is an anticipation for all RuneScape
players. The one thing on their minds is: What will be dropped? A costume? Perhaps
another mask set? A new quest?
We all know one thing for sure, something will definitely happen. Whether it be
temporary, like last year, or a permanent item, we just have to wait and find
out. Maybe Jagex will even come up with a whole different scenario. Nothing is
for sure until it happens.
