THE DRAGON THREAT BOOK 2: THE AUTUMN REVENGE PARTS 11-20

Part 11: Dwarves and Goblins and Ice, oh my!
Manvik held the battleaxe steady. This was it... his final hour. His trials to become a Fremennik would not be for naught. He would use them to stay alive as long as possible. Never stop fighting till the end. He looked over at Strangerr. Strangerr had a smile on his face. He completely enjoyed this even though he was in danger as well. But the dragon listened to him. He was in here for his own enjoyment, that's why he was smiling.

Strangerr heard the gates open. He glanced over. Scar was there, dragging someone; they were awake, but paralyzed. In Scar's hand... could it be...? "Zaros's amulet... He's done it."

"I've come with Zaros's amulet!" he announced. "And this is Zaros's minion, the one that let's Zaros inhabit him. He is to be fed to Twinteeth!" Scar dropped Stip there, taking his halberd and staff. Stip just lay there... paralyzed from the poison. Twinteeth smelled more blood coming from Stip, and headed toward him. Manvik would survive a bit longer...

Jamie and Rangerbane appeared in Falador. People were bustling about, unaware of the danger that was dawning. Tahu was dead, and it was almost too late to bring him back. 17 hours... Would fate be cruel enough? “Ok,” said Jamie, “we have the scimitar. Now what?”

“We need great smiths to smelt such a metal. Perhaps we should try the dwarves?” suggested Rangerbane.

“Of course! Dwarves are master smiths!” exclaimed Jamie with glee.

The northern exit of Falador was extravagant. A large wooden gate that scraped the very heavens themselves was the way through the exit, the rest covered by stone walls that shone a brilliant golden colour, archers on top. Guards patrolled the exit, keeping constant watch on all who passed through. In front were spikes that kept charges at bay, the path to Doric the dwarven smith’s house, and the path to the mountain known as Ice Mountain in which was the famous Dwarven Mines. Behind Doric’s shack lay Goblin Village, which was full of the little green guys.

Jamie and Rangerbane passed through the gate, ignoring the guard staring at them. “Let’s try Doric’s shack first,” suggested Rangerbane.

Sarkus withdrew various elemental runes, along with many items which he had no need for. This left him with about two rows filled in his bank vault. He then threw everything he withdrew in the air and held his unique staff into the air. “High Alchemy!” Everything (except for a few runes that fell to the ground) exploded into a great ball of green energy, which transformed into coins that fell into his waiting sack.

Sarkus had collected about 100k this time. Depositing 40k, he dumped the rest into the chest on the counter that read “For the ever struggle against Jangercancasopia, please donate”.

Then, he raised the remaining runes to his staff of Armadyl as an offering. Apparently, Armadyl accepted this since the runes disintegrated into green powder that blew away (even though he was inside). Through this whole process, everyone in the bank stared. Sarkus didn’t enjoy the attention, except from a certain bank woman.

Knock, Knock, Knock! Rangerbane pounded on Doric’s door. “Settle down Rangerbane!” shouted Jamie. The door opened.

Doric, a dwarven smith known by many stood there, sweating. “Ello...”

“Ah, busy at work Doric I see?” said Jamie.

“Ugh? I mean... yes. Of course. That’s right... working.”

“Can you help us?” said Rangerbane. Jamie raised the dragon scimitar. Rangerbane continued. “We need to make a holy symbol out of this.”

“Um...” He looked over his shoulder into the room. “Sure... come in... and while your at it close the do- RUN! GOBLIN AMBUSH!”

And the spears flew. Goblins appeared on the roof of Doric’s shack, on the surrounding hills and cliffs, tossing spears. All but two missed. One dug into the arm of Jamie. The other, through the heart of Rangerbane. He dropped to the ground, dead.

“No!” Jamie looked up at the cliffs. A figure stood at the front. He wore mystical robes covered in frost. He had shocking white/blue hair, and had a long staff curved at the end, a ice crystal on the tip of the curve.

“Hello, Jamie. I am the Frost Keeper. I am here for you. I am here to guide you. I am here to lead you to the destiny that was foretold of you, in the prophecies. At the moment you are nigh to achieve your goal, I will snatch everything from you. The man beside you. The one laying in the Monastery. The one who is surrounded by your arch-enemies. And the one that you do not know of, yet will be important in every way the others are.”

“What? How can you snatch Rangerbane and Tahu away at that moment if they are dead right now?” Jamie questioned.

“Cold is a simple thing right? Death is cold. Death is complex. Storms are cold. Storms are complex. So why is Cold simple?”

“That doesn’t make sense.”

“Oh doesn’t it? You’re right,” the Frost Keeper said, “it doesn’t. TELEOTHER ICE MOUNTAIN!” Jamie disappeared in a flash of purplish blue.

Part 12: Was it all worth it?
Jamie stood on Ice Mountain. Scar stood before him. “Never did I think it would end this way. You, staring me down atop a forbidding wasteland. Scar... you and the cult win.” Jamie fell to his knees.

“You will feel nothing but a fearsome inferno melting you down to nothing.” Scar smirked, holding his staff of Zamorak forward.

“I look forward.” Jamie said solemnly. “And now, with so many deaths, I think... was it all worth it? Every comrade I have ever had on my journey is now dead. Bustergod, Tahu, Rangerbane, and probably Stip. And now, I will fall to end the only resistance the world has against the ever powerful and growing cult of the unknown.”

“Inspiring speech. You have duped me long enough. Trollweiss mountain... you were all over me, crushing me to nothing. But I have survived, and I am going to eliminate you here and now.” Scar readied his staff.

“What? I never went to Trollweiss mountain before...”

“FLAMES OF ZAMOR-!”

A man in a black coat knocked Scar over. “I have.” He said. He grabbed Scar’s sack of runes and tossed them to another man in a coat. “Get away. He will kill you.” The two ran off.

Scar got up. “You...” He held his staff in one hand. Groaning, he dropped it and took his dagger out. Jamie rushed at him, and swung Straven’s scimitar. Scar grabbed it, and swung it and Jamie and tossed him to the ground. “FOOL!”

Jamie sat there, freezing. Scar was going to kill him. But he still had tried. Was it really over? Heck no! A man in a green cloak stood behind Scar. He rose a staff. “Armadyl’s Love!” A green blast of light shot in a beam at Scar, knocking him to the ground. He picked Jamie up. “It isn’t safe here. We must go back in time an hour.”

“What?”

“TIMEPORT! One hour!”

When Jamie opened his eyes, he could still see what he saw seconds before. With one change. Scar was gone. “What is happening! Who are you!”

“I am Sarkus.” The man replied. “I have been sent here to save you by... yourself and myself. Time travel is confusing. And, here is what is happening. Scry Rangerbane!”

Jamie’s vision turned to a vision the Phoenix gang hideout, him and Rangerbane entering to find Topsummoner on the ground. “Welcome, to your life of time travel. It will be your life for the next a day ago. That’s a joke it is....”

“Wait... hey I can save Rangerbane. Let’s crush some goblins!” Jamie reared for the challenge.

“I have seen you try. You will find a group of goblins, and start slaughtering them, and the Frost Keeper will teleport you to a time which is perfect for him to strike you down. And, I see another future. You save Tahu, and you and he save Rangerbane at the cost of your life. But, only future you, which is the you you are, will perish, and past you, the one battling Straven, will survive.”

“Ok then... wait, this isn’t enough time. Right now I probably am about to teleport to Falador.” Jamie said.

“Ah, but you don’t know that there are two ways of teleporting. People cannot control which one they use. Their energy decides. One way is taking little energy to teleport, but take about half or more of the time it would take to walk. The other uses much energy, and teleports instantly. Your mind decided for you to take the long way.” Sarkus lectured.

“How do you know so much?”

“Because I hold the wisdom and power of the great fallen god, Armadyl. She gives me the ability to craft the rare time rune. This allows me to travel through time with a simple spell. Those runes also hold the ability to see the future without traveling there. Now, go to Doric. He can craft the holy amulet you desire.”

“Can’t you just timeport to when we were fighting Straven and save Tahu?”

“That would change time so that we had never met, and I could not have helped you save Rangerbane.”

“Oh... ok.”

All confused with what had happened to physics, Jamie headed for Doric’s shack. Sarkus timeported to another time. Where, or should I say when, was unknown.

< font size="5">Part 13: Sarkus in the Past and Stip in the Present
Back in the time where Sarkus was High Alchemizing his items....

Sarkus exited Draynor bank, holding his Farming Equipment. Buying a stack of cabbage (ugh!) seeds, and putting them in his seed satchel, he headed for the nearest farm. As he approached the not so elegant border between Asgarnia and Misthalin, in a flash of blue, before him appeared... himself. “What... Who are you?” Sarkus (past) asked. “Are you a long lost twin... a clone? Or... an impostor!?!"

“I am simply... you. Now here is what you need to do, to ensure the safety of the men that will save the world. You must go to-“ Sarkus (future) was then rudely interrupted.

“How can I trust you?” inquired Sarkus (p).

“Believe me. You will again be standing here very soon. And then you will know what I mean. Now, go to Ice Mountain and there you will find two men... (to see what Sarkus told Sarkus, take a look at Sarkus’s actions in part 12)

“...and you will then timeport to this very spot and tell yourself what I just told me... you. This makes me all confused....” Sarkus (f) said. Sarkus (p) was about to question, when Sarkus (f) interrupted. “I know your question, as I myself was going to ask it. And... I cannot answer. I myself know little of if he is the chosen one. Now go...” Sarkus (f) ran into the distance. Sarkus (p) glanced over at the looming Ice Mountain.

Sarkus (p(we will just call him Sarkus now)) ran through the path that connects Draynor and Barbarians Village, and closer to the obvious repetition of part 12.

* * * * *
Stip could move. He looked up at the dragon crawling toward him. Two heads and all. Where was he? A glance to his side caught glimpse of none other than Strangerr, arm bleeding. Heading through the gate at the exit walked none other than Scar... holding Stip’s staff, halberd, and the Zaros Amulet. Stip also saw a Fremennik wielding a mithril battleaxe. A plan formulated in his mind. He picked up a handful of dirt in each hand. He stood up.

Twinteeth growled and stood, ready to charge. But Stip charged first. He threw the dirt in both sets of Twinteeth’s eyes, blinding it. Stip hopped onto Twinteeth’s right head and used his robes to disappear. Taking from his waist his trusty pair of rune daggers for emergencies, he ran onto the dragon’s back, and stared at the crowd in the stadium stands above him. He was about to stab his daggers into the heads of Twinteeth, when the dragon shot its tail inward at Stip.

The spike on the end of tail would have impaled Stip if he hadn’t jumped backwards. He lost balance and grasped Twinteeth’s tail by stabbing it with his daggers. Big mistake. In pain, the dragon flailed its tail in the air, and Stip accidentally lost grip of one of the daggers. Holding on with one hand, the dagger he held came loose from the tail and it flew across the room toward Manvik. And it was taking Stip with it.

Stip collided with Manvik, holding one dagger. Manvik was knocked out, his battleaxe beside him. Stip stood up and grabbed the battleaxe, sticking his dagger back.

Twinteeth turned to see Manvik helpless. A free meal.

Stip dashed toward the gate. Scar turned around to begin to close the gate. What did he see? Stip dashing at him clutching a mithril battleaxe. His jaw and Stip’s items he held fell to the ground. He tried to push the door closed.

When about a foot room was left, Stip tossed his battleaxe. The door closed more... the battleaxe caught and wedged the opening. Stip took out his dagger and stabbed it through the opening, where Scar avoided it by jumping back.

Stip removed the battle axe and charged through the door. Returning his dagger to his belt, he held his battleaxe and faced Scar, the man who represented something resembling the darkness within his own heart.

His nemesis. His enemy. His equal.

Part 14: Leader of the Cult
Stip swung the battleaxe, but Scar easily dodged, and took out his Staff of Zamorak to find that Stip had picked up his halberd, and held the battleaxe in the other hand. He tossed it at Scar who avoided again. Scar shot flames of Zamorak, but Stip avoided it by grabbing Scar’s staff and redirecting it. It hit the gate, sending it off the hinges. Twinteeth looked at Stip, now available to him to eat. But, not taking chances, the dragon headed for Manvik.

Scar was stunned at Stip’s sudden new ability and power, that he stepped back shaking his head. He put away his staff. Stip took this time to pick up his staff and amulet. Unfortunately, Scar knew now and headed down a passageway, into the maze.

Strangerr waited until Twinteeth was done devouring Manvik. He then approached the dragon and sat on his back. He took out a staff of Zamorak and aimed at the roof. “Flames of Zamorak!” The spell blew a huge hole in the roof. Twinteeth took off. “Listen to me all. I am your new master. I have the dragon, the creature needed for you to be successful.”

“No!” The leader of the cult shouted. “Crash! Stop him!”

“I hate being the guy who does all this stuff...” he mumbled. He jumped from the stands onto Twinteeth and faced Strangerr. “You don’t know what you’re doing.” Crash took out twin Rune short swords.

“Please.” Strangerr smirked, pulling out his dragon long sword. Strangerr blocked a strike from both swords with his one, and kicked him backwards. “Twinteeth, climb.” Stranger stood on one of Twinteeth’s spikes. Crash held on to another.

Pulling himself onto a spike as Twinteeth became vertical, Crash began to reason with Strangerr. “Why are you doing this?”

“The Frost Keeper. To stop him from doing what I am meant to do. To make sure he doesn’t interfere.”

Crash thought about this for a minute, during which time Strangerr stabbed his sword through Crash’s heart. Crash fell off Twinteeth, down below where Twinteeth caught him with its tail and shot him up to the mouths where he was eaten whole.

Before Strangerr and his dragon could make it out, Twinteeth coughed up a skull, which fell onto the second in command in the cult, cracking his skull. Strangerr went from third to second. The leader of the cult felt anxious, looking up at his dragon flying away. “I will restore the order or my name isn’t Maixious.”

* * * * *
Jamie knew that he couldn’t go to Doric’s shack. The goblins were likely waiting in ambush by now. So instead he embarked down Ice Mountain toward a certain cliff. It was very cold up there. Jamie was glad there was a way for him save his friends. Was it luck? If so, Jamie was nervous that his luck may eventually run out.

A storm was passing overhead in the autumn sky. Snow was covering the already white Ice Mountain, and Jamie was sure Falador was being poured on by rain. Thunder roared, and lightning flashed as Jamie approached the Dwarven encampment. There was no dwarves in sight. But, there was a man in sight. Around his neck he wore a Jade Amulet. He was in black robes. “Who are you?” asked Jamie.

“I am Maixious. The leader of the Cult of the Unknown.” The man said.

Jamie drew Straven’s scimitar.

“I come not to quarrel but make an offer with you. Strangerr has already won.” Maixious said.

“What do you mean by that?” Jamie inquired.

“He has complete control over the blue dragon Twinteeth.”

“Twinteeth?”

“Yes. A two-headed blue dragon we found resting in a cavern. Somehow Strangerr is able to push Twinteeth to his will. That is how we came to hold Twinteeth in our captivity. Now, Strangerr is headed to Trollweiss mountain. With Twinteeth’s help, he will kill the Frost Keeper, the current watcher over the blade Timebender.”

“Timebender? What are you getting at?” Jamie was getting suspicious. The leader of the cult of the unknown, Jamie’s sworn enemies was meeting with him to tell him about a sword called Timebender?

“Yes, the Timebender. It is a mystic sword that can fix mistakes in time travel and allow one to perform time travel. Strangerr will want it because of those who have performed deeds in time travel that were un-beneficial to him. Like when I went back in time to stop him from finding the tomb of... never mind. Anyways, you must stop him. He will use Timebender against you. Like maybe he will prevent you from trying to save your friend Tahu? Straven was a fool. We gave him direct orders not to harm you or your friends.”

“What? You were...”

“Protecting you. We are not your enemies. Strangerr has somehow been able to control dragons his whole life. We are his puppets. But no longer. He has discarded us.” Maixious had a firm, serious look on his face. “Do you yet know the prophecy?”

“No, but after I save Tahu the monks at the Monastery will tell me.”

“The cult was created to protect who we believe are essential to the prophecy. Strangerr believes the prophecy will be his downfall. That is why he strives to kill all of you. He controlled us. A few actually fell completely into his spell. Under his command till the end of time. Scar is one of those people. Now go. The dwarves within this mine will make the amulet.”

“Wait... am I to stop Strangerr from obtaining Timebender?”

“Yes.”

“Then... I may at sometime be forced to draw it. My time travel doings will be undone. The entire cult will be at Strangerr’s side once more.”

“Yes we will. I completely understand if you have to slay me. Well, I won’t seem to then, but I may actually be essential to Strangerr if he is to control the cult.”

“Well... thank you for telling me about this. I may be able to stop him.” Jamie told Maixious confidently. He could hardly believe not too long ago he had nearly given up.

“The world’s fate may rest on a few shoulders. Including yours. But, little does Strangerr know it was his actions that cause you and your friends to meet. His own doing will be his downfall.” Maixious knew what he had done. He had doomed the cult to be bound once more in servitude to Strangerr. He had made them commit slavery! He would die for this. If the prophecy was true....

Part 15: The Caves
Jamie entered the Dwarven Mines alone. Every dwarf he asked said they couldn’t smelt such a metal. Even when he told them it was a matter of life and death. He sat by the pickaxe and general stores. He noticed a dwarf by a mine-cart. He hadn’t asked this one yet. “Hello there?”

“Yes? Watcha want?”

“Can you smelt this scimitar into a holy amulet?” Jamie asked, hoping for a reply which would save his friend’s life.

“Sorry, I just run the Mine-cart I’m not too good at that stuff.”

“Aw... wait a second. Where does the mine-cart go?”

“Keldagrim, Dwarven capital of the world.”

Jamie was lightened up. “Can I go there?”

“You need to pay a fee.”

“Ok.” Jamie stuck his hand into his pocket and came up with 300 gold. “How much for a ticket?”

“200gp.” Jamie handed over 200gp and got his ticket.

“One second.” Jamie ran over to the General Store and bought a holy amulet mold.

“That’ll be 2gp.” Jamie handed over all 100 of his gold.

“Keep the change.” Jamie ran over to the mine-cart and hopped in, leaving the shopkeeper to wonder why he had got 98 extra coins.

*****
Back in the Cult Hideout, Maixious received bitter news about Dwarves digging a tunnel that led to the entrance to their maze that protected them from intruders. “Not only will they discover us, they will run into Scar. He’s in the maze. He will slaughter them, and the dwarves will blame us. And now we are connected to a one-way tunnel to Keldagrim.”

“No master, there are a few branches off the tunnel. Apparently... they built that tunnel looking for something.” The scout told his master.

“Timebender. The blade that few know about, but those who do search for it day and night. They will not find it here. It lays within a cave atop a mountain. Not below the ground.” Maixious said knowingly. He looked into the maze. Scar was still here. That was a problem.

*****
The mine-cart crashed. Right there, in the middle of the tunnel. The cart’s light went out, leaving Jamie and the dwarf alone in the darkness. Suddenly a flame burst out. Jamie shouted in shock, but it was only the dwarf lighting a torch. There was three tunnels. One went back to where they came, one went the way they were going, along the side-by-side tracks, and one went further into the caves.

“C’mon human,” said the dwarf, heading down the tunnel leading into the cave. “This is a recently dug tunnel, and we can get to Keldagrim with it faster than following the tracks.” The dwarf led Jamie away from the tracks, deep into the cave.

For what seemed like hours Jamie and the dwarf went through the caves. Jamie thought he heard light footsteps nearby. “What was that?” he asked the dwarf.

“Nuthin, probably the miners. As I told you this path is relatively new.”

The paths twisted, and they came to a few crossroads, but the dwarf knew where he was going, and led them down the proper path. Jamie heard footsteps again, then a growl. He shook it out of his head, knowing the footsteps were probably the miners and the growl... was his imagination. Then, he heard a growl again. Louder.

“I’m hearing things...” Jamie told himself aloud. Suddenly, a gray figure on all fours jumped out into sight. Jamie could not make it out before the creature tackled him. It was a wolf. It put slimy fangs to his neck. Suddenly the lighting changed. The dwarf had dropped the torch.

A moment later, the wolf went flying off Jamie. Jamie grabbed the torch and held it. The dwarf came into view, holding a black warhammer. The wolf stepped closer to him, and he whacked it back with the hammer. It tackled him, making his warhammer go flying. Jamie dropped the torch and ducked. He scrambled for the torch.

As he crawled over to the torch, he heard a dragging sound. Raising the torch, he had only enough time to see the dwarf being dragged into the darkness. Jamie ran after him to no avail. He saw him nowhere. Jamie had lost his guide, and therefore, was lost within the caves.

*****
Stip looked around him. Four directions. His only chance to get back to the surface was Scar. He took his runes. Stip had on him his smoke staff, useless due to lack of runes, his halberd, one rune dagger, the Zaros Amulet, and his robes.

“Stip...”

Stip had heard this voice before, coming within his mind. Zaros.

“Come to Varrok. I lie in wait within the museum.”

“Master... I am trapped within a maze. Do you know of the way to freedom?”
“Scar is not your only chance of escape. If you reach the end of the maze, you will reach a cave leading to Keldagrim, dwarven capital. Find the exit.”

“Will do master... for the glory of Zaros... and cheese.” Cheese was something Stip did not have on him either. Stip had hidden his cheese in his rune sack.

He chose a pathway, and continued deeper within the maze. Scar was somewhere in here. Stip knew he would have to avoid him. Scar did have the advantage, seeing as Stip could not use magic.

Chapter 16: Lost
Sarkus sat in his house, waiting. His other self must had accomplished the task of saving Jamie by now. Sarkus still had one question. Why did Arymadyl want him to protect him. He knew the god had no chance of knowing of the prophecy, as it was made after Arymadyl fell to Zaros. So that couldn’t be right.

Another Sarkus enerted the door. We will call him Sarkus2, and the other Sarkus1. Sarukus1 smiled. “I know already of what you will ask. I assume Arymadyl contacted you on the way to Ice Mountain?”

“Yes.” Said Sarkus2.

“Perfect. Now I must go... The task you have been told of is my task as of now. It will become your task soon enough. Forever more, infinite of us going through the task. Over and over. Now sit, and wait.”

Sarkus1 stood up played his magic harp and appeared in Rellaka. He looked over to see the Trollweiss mountain, standing tall. Keldagrim was his next location.

*****
Jamie wandered through the caves. Every so often he would come to crossroads, and guessed his path. He was lost in a terrible labrynth. No way out.

He wandered for what seemed like hours. Tahu's time was ticking, and he was here, lost. And if another wolf came, he would have to fight it off again. It wouldn't be too hard, but it would still be difficult. Speak of the devil.

Jamie heard growling behind him. Drawing a scimitar, he turned to see not one, but three wolves. He was tackled, and his torch went flying. Jamie pushed wolf off him, and slashed it. It whimpered into the darkness. Jamie drew another scimetar, which ones he held, he didn't care. He started to hear growling coming from all sides. There were more of them. Jamie heard footsteps behind him. He turned and slashed. He struck air. This was ridiculous, and bad. He couldn't see his foes. And he was outnumbered. And he was trapped. And... well that was about it.

Jamie did the one, brave, bold, heroic thing he could do at that moment. He ran. Where he was going, he didn't care. He needed out, and out he would go, no matter what!

*****
Stip stepped forward. Scar stood before him, about five meters away. "Zaros says you are to be eliminated. However, I may spare you if you kindly step aside."

Scar, although he looked worried, grinned. "You have changed. Zaros is influencing you. You always appeared to be a friendly but fierce person. Now the friendlyness is fading."

"Quiet. Now move! Stip held his halberd toward Scar."

"Ha. Even if you are becoming like Zaros each day, as I become more like Zamorak, you must remember who won when the two fought." Scar drew a schythe. He stood, staring at Stip. He didn't show it, but he was worried. Yes, worried.

Stip grinned. He pulled his hood up, concealing his face in shadow.

*****
Jamie woke up. Where was he? He stood up. Sarkus stood over him, holding his staff. "Good, you're up. Now, go! Take the first left and then go down the first lit tunnel you find."

"What's happening?"

"The wolf pack is closing in. They look starved. I sure hope they don't find the tunnel to Keldagrim... Now go! I'll hold them off!"

"Thanks!" Jamie stood up. He ran, as fast as he could. He took a left and came into a lighted area. Not a tunnel, so this wasn't the way he should go. But... he stared into a labrinth. This... where did it lead? It wasn't of concern however. He needed to hurry. He looked over and saw a lighted tunnel. Dwarves were mining in it. This must be the way to Keldagrim. As he stepped into the tunnel, he wondered if Sarkus was ok.

Sarkus whacked a wolf back with his staff, and blasted back another. But, there was simply too many. However... he could try... Yes he would. "Rain of Arymadyl! A wolf ran at Sarkus to be struck from nowhere by a blast of energy, much like the one created by the Arymadyl's Love spell. Every wolf that ran at Sarkus was blasted. But, Sarkus was being drained of energy. Luckily the amulet around his neck gave him infinite cosmic, nature, and law runes. So, it provided some energy. But, still tons of energy was being drained from Sarkus.

He would not be able to hold this up much longer. The wolves were relentless. They were white wolves. Powerful things they were, as each one blasted back came back for more. A figure stepped forward, out of the darkness. He spoke. "In case you don't know, I am the Frost Keeper."

The wolves stopped their charge. Just in time, as Sarkus fell down exhausted. He looked up. "The guardian of the blade Timebender."

"Indeed. I have been inducting research into the phrophecy. You seem of liable importance. As you know, one must draw the blade, but to do so, he will need help. Thus, eliminating any potential 'help', will protect it. You see... when the blade is drawn, the guardian must perish."

"You think I have a part in the phrophecy? Bah!"

"BAH?" The Frost Keeper drew his staff, holding it toward Sarkus. "Take a blow from my power then tell me bah!"

"A solemn melody from my harp I will play. To your honor."

"What? What trickery is this? You bah in my face then offer me a song!"

"I insist." He took out a harp.

"Well..." The FK looked flattered, but quickly realized. He was being tricked. "What?!? Nooo! ICE BLITZ!!!" A magic blast of ice came hurtling toward Sarkus as he began to play his harp.

"Rellaka Teleport!" A flash of light filled the cave as the ice attack hit. The Frost Keeper looked into the mist as it cleared.

Part 17: Hallucination Station
Jamie opened his eyes. How long had he been out. And speaking of which, why was he out?

He sat up, and looked around. It was a cell. He stood up. The gate was open. He stepped into the darkness. What was this place?

He looked into the next room to see... himself. No.. that wasn't himself. It was Strangerr. He was looking into the darkness.

"What lies beyond the mind? What lies beyond the barriers of time?" He turned and faced Jamie.

"What are you doing here? Where is here?"

Strangerr smiled. "You have left the cell... the barrier... the jail that imprisioned you within one time. By traveling through time, you have been opened."

"I didn't choose to go back in time. Sarkus brought me."

"Ah, but you have chosen to go. You see... You have done so many times, losing control many times and falling into an abyss."

"What are you getting at?"

"You see, time travel does something to a person. It makes them eventually get obsessed and keep doing so until they get stuck. They find themself in a cell, and open the door..." Suddenly, Strangerr dissapeared. The world around Jamie dissapeared.

Then the city of Keldagrim appeared. Jamie woke up in a bed. He looked around. A dwarf walked up to him. "Who are you?"

"I'm Wark. I work the night shift at the Keldagrim pub. You walked in, and started asking about dwarven smithys. Then I offered you a pint of beer."

"Let me guess... I accepted."

"Yep." Wart said. "You drank it up, and asked for another. And another. And soon, you were as drunk as a door, and kept going. Then, you passed out and I took you to my house."

"Well... thank you." Jamie felt relieved. That dream he had must had been a hallucination that was caused by the beer. But... what Strangerr said...

Strangerr had said that he had travelled through time many times before. What could that mean? Jamie had only travelled once.

He shook off the thought. He felt sick. Jamie stumbled into the city. He saw a patch of hops. Farming patch, down here? But, he suddenly had a craving for something. Something that had to do with those hops...

He took a few more steps, and a drunken dwarf appeared. "Ello, mate!"

"Um... hey?" Jamie said politely.

"Have a beer and kebab, on me!"

Jamie took the beer and kebab from the dwarf, thanked him, and began munching the kebab. When the dwarf was out of sight, Jamie threw the kebab to the ground and gulped down the beer. He now realized what was wrong. He was addicted. He hiccupped and collapsed.

"You know... I know more than you." a familer voice said. Jamie looked at his nemisis. And fell back into darkness, passing out completely.

Part 18: Mind Connections
Jamie heard a voice in his head. It called out to him, echoing. "Ta... Anger... Ip... Arku... Anyone..."

Jamie spoke. "Who is that?"

"I... forget... all I remember is the names... those names... I can't fully remember them....I'm a stranger to myself..."

"A stranger... well... how can I hear you?"

"I don't know... but I see people around me. In cloaks. They speak of a phrophecy... The fools..."

"Do you remember anything other than those names?"

"No... I'm a stranger to myself, I told you. Maybe... that is my name. Strangerr...."

"What... No!"
"A sword... a time-traveling sword. I remember that too... Timebender... Trollweiss mountain... I must go there...."

"You don't know what you are doing..."

"These people are easily bent to my will. I will remember that... Now... I see a vision of a place... Someone that looks very much like me is there... Hm... The phrophecy... this phrophecy they speak of... a slayer of many dragons, Crandor it begun... I will find this Crandor, and direct him to it. He must be the one in the phrophecy, not me. And anyway... why am I telling you this?"

Jamie woke with a start. Strangerr... He had contacted him. But how... and why? It seemed like he was in a past time. And it was all setup. To this point it was set up. Strangerr started it all. Why?

Jamie looked ahead. The entrance to the Blast Furnace. He stepped downstairs and looked at people working the furnace with the permission of the operator. Jamie saw someone putting ore on a conveyer. "Maybe..."

He ran up the ramp and knocked the person over. He put the dragon scimmy on the conveyer. He ran to the end of the line and placed the soft metal into the holy amulet mould. It began to cool...

"Help!" Jamie turned to see the person he had knocked over. They were above winding gears, about to fall. "Stop the machine!"

On cue, everyone stopped what they were doing. The sudden stop burst a pipe wide open. "Watch out! It's going to blow!"

"Arymadyl's Shield!!!" Someone ran up to the broken pipe and began to fix it, when a colour changing shield appeared around him. "What the..." Suddenly the pipe blew up. And he remained unharmed. Suddenly, pipes all over the furnace bursted. The combanation of the dragon metal and the sudden stop had been too much. Shields formed around everyone. Sarkus was there! But, he collasped, being the only one without a shield.

The furnace blew, as a dwarf carrying ores walked down the stairs.

A dwarf walked by the Blast Furnace building, and got knocked over by a dwarf and his bag of ore.

The furnace had exploded. Jamie looked up as it did. Someone was in front of Sarkus... Brother Gallahad! A magic shield was between him and the explosion, saving Sarkus. But at what cost...

The explosion stopped. The furnace was destroyed. The shields around everyone dissapeared. Gallahad fell down, lying next to Sarkus. Sarkus stood, and began to shake Gallahad.

Gallahad looked up, and Jamie ran over to him. "The phrophecy... it was vital the two of you survive... I had to put every ounce of my being into that shield, and energy to keep Sarkus up. It wasn't enough... I had to sell my existence to the gods." Gallahad began to fade away.

"Wha... whats happening!" Jamie shouted. Gallahad held out his hand. A silver ring with a diamond.

"Take it... a ring of holyness. It will bring you to the Monastary in time to save your friend." Jamie took the ring.

Galahad was transparent. "The monks will tell you the phrophecy..."

Sarkus looked at Galahad. "Thank you. I will insure he is instructed in knowledge of the phrophecy."

"Thank you..." Jamie choaked out. He had just given his life to save the only person that could save everyone in the room.

The dwarf engineer stood behind Jamie, too stunned to speak. "You... dest...destr..."

Galahad dissapeared completeley. "Farewell..."

"No..."

"You destroy.... destroyed my unique, worth millions of gold pieces Blast Furnace!"

"Time to split!" Jamie grabbed the stunned Sarkus and rubbed the ring.

“Of course! Dwarves are master smiths!” exclaimed Jamie with glee....

Part 19: Unknown Motives
"They're back!" a voice shouted.

The purple light around Jamie faded. He was in the monastary. The group of monks stood there, along with Sir Lancelot. "Jamie! Quickly, the holy amulet!" Lancelot shouted.

Sarkus looked up at Jamie. "The time has come."

Jamie looked over to the corner, where Tahu's lifeless body lay. He walked up to it, shining holy dragon amulet in hand. As he walked, energy began to form around the amulet. "What's happening?"

"Nothing, just the godlike energy within the amulet meeting with the life deep within Tahu. It is normal, and this phonomenon shows the amulet is made proper." the head monk said.

Jamie nodded headed closer. It was getting hard to move, making Jamie feel like he was trudging through snow. Red bolts shot from the amulet, causing Jamie to drop it, but he quickly caught the string. Tahu's body began to glow as well.

* * * * *
Straven felt the vial smash against his face. "Aagh! Water splashed his face, some going down his throat, and glass stuck into his face, piercing one of his eyes, goughing out blood and cutting out his vision. "AHHHHHH!" He fell to his knees, hands clutched to his face, blood trickling down onto the bank floor. He felt something in his head shock out, causing his leg to kick forward. Instantly, his clones faded.

"Scar!"

Scar entered the door. "Yes?"

"What... happened?"

"Our... 'technology' utilizing electricty can easily be shorted out by swallowed water. For some reason, any other liquid seems to not affect it. It is a bug shared in all of our technology so far, but Strangerr's devoted followers are working it out, along with creating new items. Soon we will distribute the one's 'helpful' to the public, along with hidden mind control bugs. We will call them... 'macros'.

"Yes, now do you mind? I'm bleeding to death, and your rambling!"

"Come on... We'll get you fixed up." Scar said, with a mad grin.

"And another thing... I want another chance at them. Get it for me."

"Oh you will..."

* * * * *
Red lightning sparkled around Jamie."

"Be car-" Lancelot began, but never finished.

Jamie turned his eyes to look at him. He was frozen. EVERYONE was frozen. "Wha..." Jamie forced out with much effort. The two forces pushing him were making everything difficult. A short walk to the corner was like a hike.

"So, you are trying to save a life? Typical. That's what all you do. Everyone of you. Unfortunatly, my purpose is to make you all die and stay dead. So I cannot let you revive him, and I may as well kill you as well while I'm at it." It was the Frostkeeper.

"Why do you want to kill me? Us?"

"Because." He smiled, taking out TWO dragon longswords covered in frost.

Jamie reached to his back, reaching for his rune scimetar.

"Fool." The Frost Keeper ran at Jamie. Appearently the forces were only affecting Jamie, since he held the amulet. He prepared to slash...

Jamie dropped the amulet, and grabbed the scimetar, feeling great relief when the forces stooped pushing on him. He pulled it out and blocked with such speed that the Frost Keeper stumbled back.

"Hah. Interesting." He jumped, frontflipping over Jamie, landing beside him and grabbed the amulet, and had enough momentem to swing it, flying into Jamie, with such force that it sent him flying. When Jamie fell to the ground, the amulet landed beside him. He grabbed it, dropping the scimetar, and felt the force come back. He was only a few feet from Tahu, and all the way across the room from the keeper. He kept going, bolts crackling.

"No you don't!" He ran at Jamie, longswords flailing.

"Almost..." Jamie kneeled down next to Tahu. He had to put tons of effort into moving the amulet. It was nearly around his neck...

"You! Are! DEAD!" The Frost Keeper slashed straight at Jamie. The amulet fell onto Tahu's neck and Jamie rose his arms in defence.

CHING!

A rune scimetar blocked the keeper's slash. "Jamie... What happened? Who is this? Where is Straven? And where is Rangerbane?"

Jamie cryed out. "Tahu..." The force had drained him completely. "You are... alive... Frost Keeper...why?"

Part 20: A Prophecy Postponed
“Foolish.” The Frostkeeper took a few steps back, away from Tahu’s scimitar. “I am not finished with you yet! Trollweiss teleport!” The keeper disappeared in a blue flash.

Tahu stood up and looked around. All the ice around the others shattered. Jamie laid on the ground, still exhausted.

Sir Lancelot was the first to come to his senses. “It’s... him! It worked!”

Tahu looked at Lancelot. “Sir... Lancelot? I know you. What are you doing here? What am I doing here? And... where is the nearest restroom?”

* * * * *

* * * * *
After Tahu had done his... business, he sat down on a bench. Jamie was helped over to the bench, where he filled him in on everything that happened. “... and then I put the amulet around your neck. You know what happened next.”

“Ok then... but what about the other you? The past you? And Rangerbane. Don’t you have to save yourself?”

“Oh snap...”

Lancelot walked into the room, alongside Sarkus. “The monks are ready to tell you the prophecy.”

“I’m so sorry, but I have something urgent to do.” Jamie said.

Sarkus grinned. “Yes, you must go save yourself.”

Lancelot shook his head. “How do you save yourself... I’m confused...”

“Don’t be.” Jamie smiled. “Keeping myself from being confused is what brought me this far. I’m just going with the flow of things.”

“As am I.” said Tahu.

“Everyone involved in this probably is. I know I am.” Sarkus said. “I will escort them, Sir. They will hear the prophecy upon their return.”

Jamie turned to Sarkus and Tahu when Lancelot left the room. “I feel like this is a turning point. After we do this... the me you are going to be working with won’t be the same me you’re talking to. You two have to keep sure you remember everything that happened to me, and fill the other me in. You have to.”

“We will...”

* * * * *
Earlier...

“No.” Scar said out loud. “I won’t disobey Strangerr...”

“Yes... you will.” Stip stood before Scar in the maze. “You do, or you die.”

“On the contrary. Last time we fought, I ultimately won. I only made the mistake of letting you live. I won’t this time.” Scar drew a scythe. “Show me if you really can kill me.”

Stip drew his halberd. “Fool. All will fall before Zaros.” He swiped at Scar, who jumped it, only to be slashed from underneath.

Scar dodged the slash, and landed on the halberd, balancing. “Interesting. Your speed is phenomenal.” He frontflipped, landing behind Stip, and lunged back with his scythe, meeting air. “Wha...”

“Fool.” Stip stood behind Scar. “Zaros is unstoppable.”

“So is Zamorak.” Scar took off his hood. His eyes turned red, and his presence became more sinister and opposing. His hair was pure white.

“Welcome back to the mortal plane, Zamorak. Unfortunately, Zaros is currently not around, and is unable to fight you. But hopefully, I will be a sufficient challenge. Using his robes, Stip disappeared.

“I have that power as well! Invisipate!” Scar/Zamorak disappeared as well. Due to an odd phonemon, one who is invisible, can see everyone else, even if they are invisible.

Therefore, both could see eachother, but no-one else could see either of them.

* * * * *
A dwarf mining in a tunnel broke through a wall with his steel pickaxe. He walked through the crack, finding a maze-like tunnel. “Hmmm...”

* * * * *
As Stip was about to charge, the wall of the maze broke open. A dwarf with a steel pickaxe stumbled in. “Hmmm...” he mumbled.

Scar/Zamorak laughed, and stabbed his scythe into the dwarf’s chest. “Agh!” He died instantly, his limp body falling forward on the scythe’s blade, blood dripping. Scar/Zammy pulled the scythe out, spun around once, and as he neared the end of his spin, aimed the scythe, slashing it across the neck of the dwarf, beheading the already life-less body.

Stip took this opportunity to rush, swinging his halberd. He missed by a long shot, only detaching the rune bag from Scar/Zammy’s waist. It hit the ground, a single rune falling out. A law rune. “Aha!” Stip shouted, scooping the rune up. “Varrok Teleport!”

Scar/Zamorak spun, seeing only a purple light fading. “Dang!” Scar’s eyes went normal. He heard Zamorak’s voice in his head. “Get him, now!”

“Right...” Scar said. “Varrok Teleport!”
