The First Step

I walked upon a wooden path one distant summers eve
A scent of bark was in the air, the wind was in the leaves
As I walked along i came upon a path id never tread
U thought to take the other path but took the familiar one instead

That night i thought to myself, to where may that path lead
I do not know to where it goes but the thought had sown the seed

I dreamed of "pleasures and glory" upon the final journey's end
Though through hard times i might go, bad weather to contend
To take the unknown path and leave the shapeless seas to sunder
Where the trees are ever-green and that ground that never thunders
A place with harpers ever struming and trumpets all ablare
A sheltered shore upon the sea, a sheltered shore to share

I dremt to take the road of eternal bliss, a destination i'd know naught
Be it a true road to take or just a lovers though?

As i walked trhough the woods one day a path infront did rise
I had prepared to meet the round, still it took me by suprise
Every day that i saw an opportunity arise
I always lost herat of myself and turned, to my despise

The road, i hear, I'd never know that it took courage to take,
It slithered to the edge of time as crooked as a snake
I feared the unknown path or embarrassments i might face
For many tried the road ahead, but ended in disgrace.

As I walked through the woods one day i began to understand,
The first steps teh hardest, but to leave the ever bland
That first step i must take lest my soul ere lament
For I think of it too much today and im becoming spent.
I dream of the day I take that path to the uknown realm I'm sent
But until that day comes at last I'll never be content

As I walked upon a wooden path on a distant summers eve
A scent of bark was in the air, the wind was in the leaves
I saw a path diverge ahead and my emotions did demand,
All fears of loss were ever quenched and my first step began

I would have titled it the road not taken but then i suddenly realized that that title was taken. also, im curious if anyone found the inner meaning to the poem that i entended.
