Reclaimed Memories
~Prologue~
"Is he there?...", someone says.
"Oh no, this looks bad...", another says.
"...Is there any hope?", someone else says.
"I'm, afraid we've lost him...", says another.
(Two days later)
..."Why is it so dark...?"
..."Am I dead...?"
..."Wait... I can see a light..."
The darkness lessens and a pathway is seen... Our hero has emerged... Only he can prevail in the darkness of which is to come...
Our hero wakes up on a bed, made of nothing but of one mattress. He is brutally scarred and looks like he was almost eaten alive. He tries to move, but his strength is too weak. Just then, a door opens up to his room. A figure appears but is too dark to see what it is. The figure treats most of the wounds on our hero and then puts a glass of wine on the table. It then leaves and closes the door. Our hero still cannot move, and decides to rest up and sleep.
The next day our hero feels much better, he can finally get up and most of his wounds have finally healed. It has just turned morning and the sun is shining bright. He looks around and finds food on the table, he quickly eats the bread and stew. Feeling rejuvenated, he gets up and dresses with some of the clothes that are laid on the table. He walks out of the room, and shuts the door...
~Chapter One~
The Hero has Awoke
Our hero runs down the hall. He finds that there is a family at the table, eating breakfast. He walks up and startles them.
"Oh my! You're finally awake are you?" said the father.
"Well that's good, you've recovered well I see," said the mother.
"Did you find the food I prepared for you on the table ok?" said their daughter.
"Yes... Thank you... It tasted great," said our hero.
"You were beaten up pretty badly when we found you... How could something like that happen?" said the father.
"I...don't remember..." said our hero.
"Surely you know who you are?" said the mother.
"No, I don't..." said our hero.
"Well, how about till you find your name, let's call you..." said the mother.
"Flare! Flare the Knight! Just like the brother of the famous Runescape Player Bob!" said the daughter.
"Flare the Knight? Ok then...I guess I'll be called Flare... But I really must be going, I really feel like I need to do something..." said Flare.
"Wait! Don't leave yet! You have nothing to protect yourself! Let me come with you, I'm a pretty good Ranger, and I can help you," said the daughter, "by the way, my names Ellian, and this is my dad, Duke, and my mother, Hellen."
"Well, nice to meet you both...I guess we are off then, Ellian?" said Flare.
"You bet! Oh, and you can call me Elli!" smiled Elli.
"Ok then, let's go!" said Flare.
Flare and Elli ran off into the distance away from the protection of their house, and little do they know, what kind of darkness lurks ahead of them.
They arrive at a large open field, with a large waterfall in the distance. They decide to set up a small camp near the lake that runs from the waterfall and then relax for the rest of the night. During their relaxation, a figure runs into the tent and hides in the shadows of the bed. Flare and Elli come in and get ready for bed.
"Don't worry Flare, I'm sure we will find what you need to know soon!" said Elli.
"I guess your right then... Good night!" said Flare.
Flare and Elli tuck in and go to sleep. A mysterious figure appears an hour later, wielding a sharp Rune Dagger. He creeps up to Elli and attempts to slice her neck. Just then, Flare's hand grabs the figure's arm and breaks it with a twist.
"And what the heck where you thinking? Trying to kill us while we were sleeping? Sheesh..." said Flare.
(Waking up) "So, who's our friend here?" said Elli.
The Figure gets up, holding his arm, with the Dagger still in hand.
"You must die, for killing our lord and master Zamorak. You will never succeed, there is far more to this than you know... If you dare, you can come find us in the Underground Passage, but only a fool would dare even step foot in it... Farewell." said the Figure.
The Figure disappears in a cloud of smoke by casting a spell from Rune Stones. Elli and Flare get dressed and pack up to leave, deciding this isn't the time to relax. They head off to the east, to the town of Seer's Village, hoping to find some answers to their questions that have befallen them this night.
~Chapter Two~
Archer's Secret
Elli and Flare arrive just outside the Fishing Guild, Southeast of Seer's Village. They knock on the door and receive a generous offering of food for their journey by some local fishermen. They say their good-byes and run off.
"So anyway, I was thinking..." said Flare, "Why did that guy attack you and say that you killed Zamorak?"
"Well, a long time ago, there was a hero named Bob, who was brave enough to defeat the evil that was destroying the land. Of course, he prevailed and Zamorak apparently was destroyed during this battle. Now, Runescape has been having a golden age of peace and prosperity since then, and everything was going fine until a few days ago..." said Elli.
"What happened a few days ago?"
"Well..."
But before Elli could finish, there was a large explosion just north to a small town near the Fishing Guild. They rushed to the scene only to find that the Ranger's Guild had been completely destroyed. There were many rangers injured and a Jagex Mod was on the scene.
"Excuse me, sir, what just happened?" said Flare.
"Apparently someone was using an illegal hacking tool to destroy the guild, and unfortunately we cannot find any trace of who did it," said the Mod.
While Flare was conversing with the Mod, Elli was looking around the debris of the Guild. She kept searching until...
"Huh, there's a pendant here..." said Elli.
"Let me see that, please." Said the Mod.
The Jagex Mod traded with Elli and she gave him the Pendant. He examined it for a while and after much waiting had found something. On the side of the pendant there was an inscription in some old language that was hard to decipher, most likely used in the old days of Runescape.
"I have a small favor to ask you two Players." Said the Mod.
"What is it?" said Elli and Flare.
"I need you two to go to Seer's Village immediately and talk to the Head Seer there, he should be able to find out what this pendant says, it would be a great help to us and I would be happy to reward you."
"Don't worry, we will, we were headed there anyway." Said Elli.
"Good, then this is yours then for now, keep in touch!"
The Jagex Mod disappeared by swinging his powerful Saradomin Staff. Elli and Flare set out to Seer's Village with the pendant to find out what was going on around Runescape these days. They eventually reached Seer's Village and knocked on the Head Seer's home. He came to the door and invited them in.
"Ah... so a Jagex Mod wishes for me to decipher this writing? No problem, just let me write it down here on this scroll..." said the Head Seer.
He began immediately at work, gathering about 10 books and reading through them for the words. There was almost every book you could imagine in his house, there were books from the beginning of Runescape to how to become a successful merchant! Flare took out a book and began reading while Elli made some tea. An hour later the Head Seer came off his desk with the scroll and handed it to Flare.
"Here you go, this should be the literal translation to the pendant." Said the Head Seer.
"Awesome, let me take a look..." Said Elli.
Elli grabbed the scroll out of Flare's hands and began reading it. She was almost stunned at what it said.
"Our First is Dead, but the Second shall Prevail.. Then there is a Symbol of Zamorak at the end..." Said Elli.
"Oh dear, this is not good... Not good at all, I was afraid of this at the beginning. I knew something like this would happen, and now we are all doomed if they succeed. You must alert the Jagex Mod, immediately! Hurry! We have no time to waste!" Said the Head Seer.
