Lower League Football

Hello and welcome to the lower league football review. This review will cover the glories of League 1, League 2 and Conference football in the UK.

League 1

I'll start at the top of the lower leagues with League 1:

Ipswich has won the race for the signing of Sam Parkin from Swindon. The 24 year-old striker is rumored to have cost 750,00 gbp.

Stoke has signed a 25 year-old striker Mamady Sidibe on a 2-year contract from Gillingham.

Leeds coach, Steve Agnew, has left his position at the club to become the new assistant manager at Hartlepool.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson has turned down the chance to take over as boss of championship side Derby County.

Rotherham will be signing 23 year-old Lee Williamson on a free transfer at the start of July.

Swansea has signed the elusive Rushden and Diamonds midfielder Andy Burgess for a fee speculated to be over 75 000 gbp.

League 2

Now I'll have a look at the headlines of League 2:

Mansfield has signed 19 year-old ex-bolton defender Jason Talbot.

Grimbsy has signed the midfielder Paul Bolland on a 2-year contract.

Recently promoted, Barnet has agreed to their goalkeeper's request to be put on the transfer list. 21 year-old Scott Tynan is keen to move to a club in the North.

Lincoln City is listening to offers from premiership clubs for 16 year-old Jack Hobbs.

Conference

Now I'll take a look at the conference headlines, with a special report on Accrington Stanley.

Hereford has signed 27 year-old full-back Akex Jeannin.

Jon Allan has given Northwich Victoria hope after signing another year contract with the club, despite the club's regulation.

Cambridge is struggling to fight off liquidation with over 500,00 gbp in debt. If Cambridge is to fold, relegated Farnborough will remain in the Conference.

Barnet midfielder Nicky Bailey has signed on from Sutton United. This is the conference champion's first buy on the season.

Accrington Stanley

After an optimistic season, Stanley has gained a new sponsorship deal with local coach firm Fraser Eagle. The team has a number of pre-season friendlys to be played including premiership side Wigan and championship side Preston North End. Stanley is also letting star player Lee McEvilly have talks with a League 2 club.
